My Biography

                Darcy Kahrhoff has spent her adult life passionate about children, education and especially music.  Ms. Darcy is a graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington and has a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in music (specifically piano performance and pedagogy).  She has taught private piano lessons to children and adults for over ten years in many different areas, including Omaha.  Ms. Darcy has experience working with school-aged children for after-school programs in Texas and Omaha, guiding them through homework, crafts, and physical activities.  She has also worked as a mentor to children with developmental and physical disabilities.  Ms. Darcy worked for two years as a cognitive rehabilitation technician for people with head-injuries and other disabilities.

 

                During the past seven years, Ms. Darcy has enjoyed raising her three young children – Mackenzie, 7; Alex, 6; and Ian, 3.  She enjoys watching them learn and grow, and loves sharing her musical abilities and interests with them.  Ms. Darcy has recently founded Family Music Studio.  She loves teaching piano to children and adults, and feels that it is truly a family experience.  She has also decided to share the joys of piano with preschoolers, after she discovered a wonderful program which incorporates CDs, computer time, and piano playing together.  

 

                Ms. Darcy is highly motivated to offer children quality musical experiences, while providing a foundation for future learning in all areas of development.  She is also looking forward to providing parents with additional tools for helping their children learn and grow in the years to come.  Ms. Darcy believes that piano lessons will benefit children, families, and adults in all domains of life.
