The Lamar Lemmons Family Fun Day is an annual event founded by State Representative LaMar Lemmons as a way to give back to his community. The event started as a small social and over the years has grown into a phenomenal event that host more the 10,000 youth and family members. The event encourages the next generation of leadership and ways to prepare for life’s upcoming challenges. There will be games, contests, sports clinics, educational workshops; motivational speakers, entertainment, eating contests, a free lunch and a variety of other events to choose from. For the parents we have a health care expo, an employment job fair and an exhibitor marketplace to display products services and food.
This year the event will be a two day celebration held on Saturday, July 28, 2007 from 11 am – 6 pm and on Sunday, July 29, 2007 from 10 am – 5 pm. On Sunday the event will include a gospel culmination finale’.
The Eastside Community Center who presents the event provides valuable vocational guidance, educational support, counseling, and referrals. This innovative initiative is a 501 c (3) non-profit event.
