Hello and welcome to Falmist Shelties. We are glad you stopped by for a visit!
We are a small family hobby breeder, devoted to the Shetland Sheepdog, located in north central Ohio about 20 minutes north of Mansfield. I have been devoted to the Shetland Sheepdog since my first sable girl in 1974. This makes our 35th year of enjoying life with these incredible dogs.
My goal is a versatile sheltie. I expect a sensible and loving family dog with a solid temperament- happy and willing to please, whether playing with the kids, hiking in the woods, herding sheep, exhibiting at a conformation show, or maybe even just hanging out and being a friend. In every sheltie we own and raise here, we just want a good all around dog.
Please stay and visit for awhile, we enjoy talking shelties!
Please feel free to contact me at javared5@gmail.com or phone at 567-224-3271. I would love to hear from you!

We are excited to brag a little on our sweet Jenny.
Jenny took a Herding Group 1 out of a large, nice group of herding dog competition at the Sugarbush AKC Match, only her 2nd time ever in the show ring. We just had to puff out our chest and smile we are so proud of her.
A hugethank you to Dave Reiners for co-owning this wonderful girl and allowing her to come to live with us.
Jenny earned her UKC Champion title, and just a couple weeks later has won 2 Champion class wins toward her UKC Grand Champion title.
She then took a Reserve Winners Bitch placement at her first AKC conformation show.
Thank you to Crestlynn Wesig for her beautiful presentation of Jen.

Simone has earned her Grand Champion title
Simone has lovely flowing movement, intelligence, great temperament and structure. All in the perfect size! Simone earned her UKC Champion title at 9 months of age taking 2 Best of Winners!Just a few weeks later, Simone won 5 back-to-back Champion classes and took 6 UKC Best of Breed wins over very nice competition. All before a year old.
She then passed her herding instinct test and began herding training. Thank you to Paragon Shelties for this amazing girl!
Our shelties are kid tested and approved!
You will notice that some of my photos are candid shots from our real, everyday lives with the dogs. I include photos of the dogs in a stacked show stance position, but I also like to show them in their natural state. My dogs are always allowed to run, play, and get dirty, in short...be dogs. :)
They lounge on the couch, and often ride shotgun. They are my children's pals and playmates. Each one is a cherished member of the family, and knows how much they mean to us.
It is of utmost importance to me that a sheltie has the temperament to be a great companion, and I strive to raise dogs that will become wonderful family members. A great sheltie temperament is my top priority.
