Keep On

November 2005 saw the first new Will Young since 2003's Friday's Child. Will had spent most of 2004 and 2005 written, recording and testing new material. During the summers or 04 and 05 Will played a series of concerts around the UK at which he tested new material recorded for the new album. In novemebr 2005 the fruits of his labour were ready in the form of Keep On.In the UK Keep On became the first album to be official released in a format known as dualdisc. Dualdisc is where one side of the disc is a regular CD whilst the other side is DVD. Will showcased the album with lead single Switch It On. Some saw it as a risky gamble as Switch it on was not the usual ballad lead single. However before the album or its lead single had been released the follow up single had already been confirmed as All Time Love to be released in before Valentines Day 2006. On release both lead single and album had to compete with Madonna. Whilst the single only managed to peak at five (due to fact downloads of the single had been available since October) the album faired better entering at number 2. During the early part of release week it looked like Will may be able to claim the number one position with sales being fairly close. In the end though he was second best to the queen of pop.

With Keep On Will continued to work with Steve Lipson. It also saw him work with new people including Lucie Silvas, Dan Carey and Nitin Sawhney. He also co-wrote seven of the twelve album tracks himself. Keep On also saw a number of tracks which had previously written for Friday's Child or around the time of promoting Friday's Child the album. These songs included Madness and Switch It On. Promotion for the album saw Will perform various album tracks on different television programs. Album tracks perfromed were Keep On (TOTP & T4), Happiness (Strictly Come Dancing) All Time Love (Royal Variety Show) and Who Am I (Johnathan Ross Show)

Promo Cover

In November 2005 Will returned with a new single but to the surprise of many it was not the usual ballad instead it was a high energy track. It was seen as somewhat of a gamble and due to this fact entered at number five in the UK. Another reason for the low placing may come from the fact that it was Will's first single since downloads were added to the singles chart and the download for Switch It On was made available in september. Another factor may have been that the contents of both formats were the same although CD contained a b-side and video.

All Time Love

Promo Cover

Even before the release of Switch It On and Keep On All Time Love had already been confirmed as the second single from Keep On. All Time Love was another heart warming ballad along the lines of Leave Right Now. The video saw Will return to Cuba although this time the video was more serious than the last cuban video (Anything Is Possible). The video saw Will a young activist and poet in court on trial for his markist poems.
