Welcome to Fairburn Welsh Cobs, situated near Rolleston, south of Christchurch in the South Island of New Zealand.  We own 10 acres of flat land which was purchased in October 2005 when the stud was established.  Even though this is a new venture, I have been around horses all my life and have competed in eventing and show jumping and also bred a few foals over the years.  My main aim for starting Fairburn Welsh Cobs, and for selecting the welsh breed, was to produce horses and ponies that are suitable for all levels of ability as well as being excellent all round mounts.  I suppose this is getting back to the good old "pony club mount".  I have owned welsh ponies for a number of years and have always been impressed by their unflappable nature and their "want to please" attitude.
