2007/2008
Awards
Failsworth Rangers Under 8's
Welcome to this years individual award winners for both the "A" & "B" teams. As for both teams it was hard for me & paul to pick individuals out who have performed really well over the course of the season as everyone in their own way have improved over the season.
A Team Player of the Year
Sam Martin

The prestigious award of the night was the "A" Team Player of the year,it went to this seasons captain, Sam, he was pipped to the award last season but carried on regardless and put in some awesome performances to bring us back from the brink of defeat in some games, he to himself this season just beat a couple of players to it in Regan who again was up there contesting the award along with Jake. But well done Sam in all your effort and commitment in the season.
A Team Top Goal Scorer
Jake Cottam

"A" Team, Top goalscorer went to Jake who rattled in 29 goals, averaging 1 a game which is a great achievement in itself when you consider the talent he was up against in Regan, Lee and Sam, so well done Jake and carry on from where you left off last season.
A Team Most Improved Player
Liam Pepperell

Most improved "A" Team player was awarded to Liam in goal who took over from Joseph at the beginning of the season and has improved so much, he kept numerous clean sheets and even scored a couple of goals as well. Well done Liam and keep up the good work next year.
B Team Player of the Year
Luke Taylor Rafterry

The player of the year for the "B" Team was no surprise, all through the season other managers have been enquiring about this man, but it aint gunna happen, he's staying put at Rangers for now unless a mega-bucks offer is laid on the table. Well done Luke you have been superb, calm, confident and distribution of the football is second to none so congratulations on your award and carry it on mate.
B Team Most Improved Player
Harrison Owens

Most improved player couldn't have gone to a nicer lad in Harrison, he gives you 100% every game and in training and gives opposing defenders a nightmare, well done Harrison you deserve it mate.
B Team Top Goal Scorer
Jack Byrne

The "B" Team top scorer was Jack who just nudged ahead of Harrison with a last game "hat-trick" to secure the trophy. Well done Jack keep working hard and try and grab it again next season.
So another season gone and I can remember you when you were all 5 and 6 year old boys and in the last few years you have all improved dramatically. So lets keep it going in the new season guys and girls and maybe you will be recieving the awards next year, thank-you everyone for all your effort and encouragement towards the team, plenty to go at next year.
Paul & Paul.
Well done to all the winners and everyone all of the players
