Who is Liz?

Science Fiction...

Well, I know when I read it, or watch it.  Writers better than me have attempted to define it.  All I can tell you is that I love it.

Rants and Musings

What the critics are saying about “Chester Cleans the Kitchen":

Goldenrat  says:
The drabble was OK. Not sure why the cockroach man would want to kill his wife. Good sound effects.

Strawman says:   No the cockroachman didn't want to kill his wife, but subliminally, all wives think their husbands are disguised cockroaches.

RG says:  Don't know if anyone has ever mentioned this before, but I like that little "drabble" that comes right before the drabble.

Mr. Tweedy says:  I liked the drabble because it was so unapologetically weird. It gives me the feeling that it's the second reel of a movie that would make perfect sense if I'd seen the first reel... But there is no first reel. It's just labeled "Reel 2" as an ironic joke by the director. I like that sort of thing.

Things I'm sick of right now:  Union Dues stories.  They're cute, good world building, etc.  But good heavens, give someone else a chance to get something published!  Write the danged book, and leave the podcasting world open to a few other people.  And frankly, there's only so much I can stand of whiny superheroes.  I get why Clonepod runs them... they're money in the bank.  But Escape Pod can find other stories.... I hope.

Which brings me to my next rant.  Escape Pod reeeeeeally stinks as of late.  The stories are didactic, and substitute as Eley's subconscious.  Sick of it.  There are better stories than all the cr*p about alternate sex lifestyles, left wing politics and whatever soapbox he feels like screaming from.  "Pervert" was a lame story in print, and one I feel got high ratings due to Straight Guilt.  There are so many good stories out there, and EP is so visible, why oh why can't he publish good stories?

So instead, I am listening to the refreshingly non-didactic, off-center and goofy Drabblecast.  I feel secure that they won't run a Union Dues (Please, Norm, I beg of you.... DON'T!!!!).  Of course, I'm just about out of good podcasts right now.  *sigh*
