Video-Weird Lights in Sky over Johannesburg, South Africa

Saturday, 11-22-08-I know this is going to sound crazy, but think I may have seen UFOs on Saturday evening over Johannesburg. I managed to get about 40 seconds of footage on my camera. Not sure if you may have had any other reports about this on Saturday evening. It was around 10 pm.
Just to let you know, I initially saw seven objects in the sky, and they were really bright. I then went into my house to call my wife to look, and when  we went outside there was only 1 left in the sky.
We then saw a 2nd object appear... so I quickly got my camera and tried to film what we were seeing. I have attached the clip. Please just take note that I have not included the audio and that I zoom in and out a lot.
Best regards

Kelvin

Cape Town, South Africa-Unknown Object in Photograph

The photograph was taken on 6h October 2008, arou midday for advertising of a beachfront unit in a complex with stunning sea and Table Mountain views (as you can undoubtedly see). A Kodak digital camera was used.

The weather was mild – in fact it was a perfect spring day with very little or no clouds in the vicinity. When I downloaded the camera, I noticed the silvery ‘smudge’ to the right of Table Mountain & thought it was strange as we don’t usually have planes flying at such close proximity to the mountain.

Thinking it was a wispy bit of cloud, I enlarged the image on my screen only to discover what appears to be a solid odd-shaped vessel with what looks like 2 large shining lights.

I would really appreciate it if you could take a look at the photo – enlarge the area to the right of Table Mountain – I would so love to hear your opinion, or even if you have some kind of explanation for me. I would also like to take this opportunity to commend you on the fabulous website you are hosting and I look forward to your reply.

Kind regards

Turned on by the aliens

02 July 2006

THE answer to South Africa’s electricity woes may lie in alien technology brought to Earth by UFOs.

So says Christo Louw, founder of the South African UFO Resource, who believes free electricity is all around us — and, with the help of extraterrestrial technology, we can plug into it and put Eskom out of business.

Louw held a conference yesterday to celebrate World UFO Day — officially commemorated around the globe today, the anniversary of an alleged UFO crash in 1947 in Roswell, New Mexico, in the US.

And what better place to hold the conference than the electricity-starved Mother City?

In a somewhat shocking revelation on the UFO Resource website, Louw claims that the rich and powerful have been using alien technologies to tap into free electricity for quite a while.

The free source of power has been a well-kept secret, says Louw, because governments are lying to the public in order to keep it all for themselves.

“The only way we can gain access to these very necessary technologies is to stop accepting our leaders’ lies, and demand that complete transparency of the spending of tax-rands be implemented,” Louw says on the website. — Nashira Davids

'UFO' crashes off KZN coast : 20 May 2006

PORT SHEPSTONE

'UFO' crashes off KZN coast

Sun, 21 May 2006

Port Shepstone rescuers are monitoring a mysterious situation in which "numerous" eye-witnesses reported an unidentified object crashing into the sea, the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) said on Saturday.

Eddie Noyons, NSRI Shelley Beach Station Commander, said eye-witnesses reported that an unidentified object, possibly an aircraft, had crashed into the sea behind the breaker line off-shore of the Port Shepstone High School.

Police, rescue craft and a fixed wing aircraft were alerted to the scene to investigate.

"Following a full-scale search of the area covering 12 square nautical miles nothing has been found."

"There are no reports of activity in the area that may be related to this incident and there are no aircraft reported to be overdue or missing," said Noyons.

He said numerous eye-witnesses — including teachers and pupils attending a sports event at the highschool, and other by-standers including local fishermen — were convinced they had seen an aircraft go into the water, including seeing smoke and water exploding.

Interviews with the witnesses revealed that some also reported seeing flames.

"Some reported seeing something, an unidentified object, splash into the sea causing a ripple effect of waves, " Noyons said.

Due to the number of eye-witnesses with similar reports, it was presumed that weather activity in the area at the time might have given the impression of something falling into the sea.

" We will continue to monitor the situation which remains a mystery," he said.

The Elizabeth Klarer Story

Although her books have been very popular in Europe, Elizabeth Klarer is not so well known in the United States.

Elizabeth was born in 1910 in the rural town of Mooi River in the province of Natal and spent her early life on the family farm in Rosetta, at the edge of the Drakensberg, or "Dragon", Mountains. When she was seven, she and her sister saw "an enormous silvery disk" swooping across the sky. That was her first contact with a UFO.

Intelligent and well-educated, Elizabeth went to Cambridge, England to study meteorology and then to Trinity College to study music. While there she married and had her first of three children.

In the 1930s, while on a visit to South Africa, she and her husband, a test-pilot, encountered a UFO while flying from Durban to Johannesburg. Her husband reported the sighting to Air Force Headquarters in Pretoria and they were interviewed by the Air Force. Klarer said later that during World War Two she worked for the South African government as a UFO investigator.

After the war she and her husband returned to South Africa where later her husband was killed and she was injured in a hangar fire. After being released from hospital she returned to the farm in Rosetta, where, one day in 1956, as she was meditating..."I was teleported up through the ceiling, while my body remained on the couch...and there, above the clouds, hovering in the clear sky were two spaceships." One of them was commanded by her future lover, Akon, a scientist from Alpha Centauri. This experience was followed be more visits from Akon and from UFOs. Akon took Elizabeth up into space and into a "mother" ship. He told her that he had been watching her all her life, waiting for the proper time to meet her. Thus began a love affair, from which Elizabeth became pregnant with Akon's son.

She claimed that during the next eight and a half months she was harassed by American and Russian intelligence, who wanted possession of the child. Finally, Akon took her to his home world of Meton in the Alpha Centauri system, where she stayed for four months and gave birth to their child, Ayling. She described Meton as a wonderful place, a utopian society on an eden-like planet. However, because the vibrations of the magnetic field on Meton were so different from those of Earth, her heart was unable to adjust, and Akon had to bring her back to earth in order to save her life. Akon and Ayling maintained contact with her via telepathy and holographic images.

Elizabeth Klarer died of cancer in February, 1994.

UFO Sighting Pretoria 28 August 1996

POLICE HELICOPTER CHASES UFO IN SOUTH AFRICA

Six days after the flap in Brasilia, a solitary UFO appeared in the early morning sky over Pretoria, capital of South Africa. The story broke on August 28 in a news report by the South African Broadcasting Co. (SABC-TV) in Johannesburg.

The UFO appeared over Erasmuskloof, a suburb of Pretoria, at 4 a.m. on Wednesday, August 28, 1996. Police Sgt. Johann Becker told SABC-TV that the "light was floating in the air. When we went outside to investigate, we realized it was something from another world." He described it as "a disc-shaped object slightly glowing. We also noticed what looked like a red triangular light on the disc."

The sighting took place near the Adrian Vlok police station. At first, when the witnesses called for backup, they were laughed at. But then, as more reports came in from Centurion, South African police responded in force, sending in their Flying Squad (SWAT team), canine unit and mobile units from all over Pretoria.

The police watched the hovering UFO for 90 minutes. One officer, Nico Stander, reportedly shot videotape of the object.

Meanwhile, the police sent a helicopter to investigate. The chopper was piloted by Col. Fred Vijoen and had four officers aboard. Col. Vijoen was afterward interviewed by SABC-TV.

Col. Vijoen said he spotted "a bright light above Mamelodi, a township near Pretoria, about 70 degrees above the horizon."

"It is the first time in my life I've ever seen anything like this,"

Col. Vijoen said, interviewed by Rapport, the leading South African Sunday newspaper. "At first I thought it was a joke when I was called out, but soon came to realize that this was something I had never experienced before. We were going after it full speed, and it still outran us."

"What was very unusual were the undulating motions of the craft," he added. "I followed the white disk with the unusual flight patterns in the direction of Cullinan. It travelled at a high speed. We could not keep up with it, and eventually had to give up when lack of fuel became a problem."

Add South Africa to the list of southern hemisphere countries that have been visited by UFOs during 1996.

And many thanks to Mike Lindemann and CNI News of September 1, 1996 for forwarding this story to us.

The Kalahari Incident - 7th May 1989

THE KALAHARI U.F.O. CRASH

Mystery and subterfuge shroud 'The Kalahari UFO Crash'.

The incident has been reported in daily newspapers and UFO magazines alike. Some sources date the crash as 7th May 1989, others sources quote the same date for 1988. The UFO was allegedly shot down by a South African Air Force Mirage jet and crashed near the border between Botswana and South Africa.

Quest International, a well known UK magazine printed a Special Edition devoted to the subject in May/June 1993. According to their reporter a joint S.A.A.F.-U.S.A.F called OPERATION SILVER DIAMOND was mounted to recover the occupants and debris. A former Lieutenant-Colonel of the U.S.A.F. is quoted as saying..."My contacts in naval intelligence have informed me that we [The United States] have given the South Africans advanced technology in exchange for a U.F.O.".

Among the threads of evidence is a printed photocopy of a faxed response to a query from Wright-Patterson Airforce Base which refers to a satellite re-entry on 7 th May 1988 and a confirmation of a 'fireball or satellite re-entry' in the same area on 7th May 1988. A researcher at Quest claims to have phoned N.O.R.A.D. and asked the duty officer to provide any information relating to this date and location. The officer allegedly replied that 'an unknown object was tracked on entering the region'. The magazine goes on to state that ..."two totally independent researchers made their way to South Africa to conduct their own enquiries into the case". Each reported that a crash landing of some kind had taken place in the Kalahari Desert. The one report was from Dr. J.J. Hurtak, an American ufologist and Professor of Science, the other was from J. Von Buttlara, a German researcher. Both were able to confirm Military sightings of an 'object' over South African airspace. There are also reports of a nameless researcher who travelled into the Kalahari region where he spoke at length with local tribesman who confirmed having seen strange aerial objects in the area.

A report during 1993 in 'The Argus', a Cape Town daily newspaper, told of claims of an international 'cover-up' and 'disinformation exercise' that is blocking attempts by researchers to uncover the 'truth'. It also named Botswana's Environment Minister, Dithoko Seiso, as confirming the incident.

Cynthia Hind of Zimbabwe, a world famous UFO researcher and author of a book on UFO's in Southern Africa subsequently wrote an article that was published in the 'UFO Times'. It was titled;

"Anatomy of a hoax. The UFO crash on the South African/Botswana border".

This article exposes one, James Van Greunen, as the originator of an extremely elaborate hoax. She points out inconsistencies and discrepancies in the alleged documents as proof. Amongst these are 14 spelling mistakes in what claimed to be an official document. When Van Greunen was confronted he admitted he had faked some details but still insisted it was a true story about a downed object on the border repeated to him in confidence by a friend of his, Hendrik Greef, a pilot in the S.A.A.F, who had overheard it at an officers mess.

From all this it is clear to see that case has been fraught with controversy and bizarre reports continue to add to the confusion. There have recently been claims that a French Intelligence officer was murdered whilst investigating the case.

Additionally, when the author attempted to track the sources of the above newspaper article he was told by the librarian at the Argus. "The file has been 'borrowed' and is now 'missing'

GRAAFF-REINET - 27-02-1998

ECUFOR has completed its preliminary investigation during this past week of the Graaff-Reinet sighting during which video footage was made of alledged UFOs. Testimonies of primary witnesses have been obtained. No additional witnesses have come forward during the past week. Basic details of the sighting are as follows :

On the 27th December 1998 at about 3pm, the Laubscher family observed between 8 to 10 objects moving rapidly in a Northernly direction over Graaf-Reinet, a small town situated in the well known Karroo and some 260km NNW of Port Elizabeth. Mr Laubscher managed to capture on video a few minutes of this incident. According to the witness desciptions and supported to a certain extent by the video footage, the objects appeared somewhat roundish triangular and seemed to move in a group. Occasionally one or two would stop and the others would circle around them and then they would go forward again. This motion repeated itself a few times. While moving the objects were shinny gold in colour but when stationary appeared to switch to red and then to blue. The size of these objects was judged to be roughly 4 to 5 times that of a boeing at the same altitude. The group had been in view for a few seconds when another much larger object travelling at very high speed in the same flight path proceeded in a northernly direction through and past the group. The larger object appeared gold in colour and was basically spherical, travelled at a constant speed and did not change colour. Its size was estimated to be roughly 8 times that of a boeing at the same altitude. The group of smaller objects then followed the larger sphere as they all disappeared behind some high cloud nearer the horizon. According to the video footage these clouds appear to be at an altitude of roughly 25000 to 30000 feet. There was no visible residue or jet stream and no noise.

The video footage has been examined and upon frame by frame viewing does indicate the presense of at least three objects simultaniously. Some of the zooming is out of focus but there is substantial " good " footage and this will be further examined using sophisticated digitizing and colour enhancement technics both locally and overseas. Investigations into the case will continue and once the video analysis results are obtained, a further News Release will be issued.

THIS NEWS RELEASE MAY ONLY BE QUOTED FROM IF PROPER REFERENCE IS MADE AS TO ITS SOURCE, IE: ECUFOR AND THAT THE CONTENTS OF SUCH QUOTES IS BOTH ACCURATE AND IN CONTEXT.

Johannesberg - 1997

South Africa UFO Encounter, 1997

This sighting took place in September 1997 while travelling home from windsurfing on an inland lake in South Africa. The journey took us past the CSIR (Council for Scientific and Industrial Research) buildings on the periphery of the city of Pretoria which we passed on our left. It was dusk and we were travelling in a southerly direction home towards Johannesburg. My son (who is now a military instructor pilot and captain in the air force) and my wife were present while I was driving, with my son sitting on my left. My attention was drawn to what appeared a very tall tower of stacked disks ahead of us, slightly off to the right of the road, this tower conically tapered towards the bottom disk, i.e. the diameter of the top disk was largest and bottom smallest. The time taken from first sighting to passing the tower orthogonally to our right was approximately five minutes at a driving speed of some 120 km/h, resulting in a distance estimate of about 10 km.

Each disk was dimly glowing with a reddish evenly distributed light and its equatorial circumference contained several bright orange light sources, about six or seven of these visible on each disk. We mentioned the phenomenon to each other and began to discuss possible explanations. In order to test that this was not due to some internally reflective optical effect (I was reasonably convinced that it could not be, anyway, but wanted to be as objectively scientific in the observation as possible) I opened the driver's window and looked at the "tower" from outside - confirming that it was an external, "real" phenomenon - this was further supported by seeing our progressive approach to it and its growing apparent dimensions in our perspective. We observed that "disks" would periodically, at regular intervals, detach from the bottom of the tower and "fly," move off, in different directions - some would take approximately parallel courses, others would vary radically in their relative direction to previous disks. Although we followed the flight of these departing disks in some direct, and thereafter peripheral vision, our primary attention stayed with the "tower".

We observed somewhere between ten to fifteen disks depart this way but did not feel motivated to make an accurate count - continually we had to balance our sense of "reality" against what we were seeing and it was to say the least, an unsettling and surely disturbing phenomenon - it was not easily intellectually digestible. Although the "tower" remained apparently stationary, the disks that flew off certainly appeared to be under intelligent, if not pre-programmed, stochastically robotic control. Knowing that four parallel fingers of one hand at arm's reach span about ten degrees I measured the apparent height of the tower shortly after sighting at about thirty-five degrees at the estimated ten kilometers - resulting in an estimated height of 7 km - this result did not surprise me due to the enormity of the "tower" and the time taken to approach and pass it. The top disk easily spanned four parallel, vertically held fingers, which after some rough trig. works out to an estimated diameter of at least 1,7 km. The bottom disk of the "tower" was some ten degrees above ground, which would put it at 1,8 km altitude - and a resulting "total tower height of approximately 5,2 km. These are of course estimates but I would guarantee them as being within 20% of the true dimensions.

No unusual sound was heard that would have apparently emitted from the "tower" or individual disks during the entire event. No electronic / electromechanical or physiological disturbance was noted, beyond the induced emotional effects of the sighting. The orthogonal distance to our right as we passed the tower was difficult to judge due to the effect of it seeming to "float" and the near-to-medium foreground under the apparent position of the "tower" drifting in the opposite direction of our travel underneath it. There was no clear relating landmark or beacon that I could later use as distance reference. We mutually confirmed that we were seeing what we apparently were seeing - during this time the road was quite busy and we could tell from sideways glances, that the occupants of passing cars, and those we passed, were also all looking, and some pointing to the phenomenon - this, believe it or not, was an important objective confirmation to us.

I reported this sighting the next day to personnel at the Johannesburg Planetarium (some of whom I knew personally, having done a course in Astronomy and also having bought a 4" Newtonian reflector telescope from them years earlier) There was little and if any, skeptical interest - further, I did not hear of any follow up, either privately or via the media. I am not interested in publicity at all - but think that responsible reporting and thorough follow-up investigation is vital in such cases. My personal opinion is that reporting subjects should be willing to voluntarily submit to polygraph testing with regard to the reported content of sightings - such not only to support the verity and facticity of their reports, but more importantly to support a body of reliable evidence. I would certainly be willing to submit to any verification supporting procedures.

In conclusion it may appear strange that we did not drastically slow our speed or even stop - this was however a high-speed freeway and stopping is not allowed except in emergency; further we wanted to remain in the right-hand lane, incidentally the fastest, as the "tower" was clearly going to pass on our right. The apparantly slow speed of our approach to the phenomenon was another reason motivating the maintenance of our road-speed.

One emphatically expressed opinion that I will eternally remember being uttered as we passed the tower and we observed another disk departing was: "My God, it's a mothership and those are 'daughter-disks'..." Whether that sentiment was anywhere near an accurate assessment we may of course never know. I would be interested if any party who witnessed this specific event as well, or has seen a similar phenomenon, would supply their view and sighting report.

The Zimbabwe School Close Encounter

Ruwa, Zimbabwe
September 16, 1994

On the morning of September 16, 1994, teachers and school officials at the
Ariel School in Ruwa, Zimbabwe were amazed when the school's students, aged
approximately 5 to 12 years old, reported that a flying object had landed on
the school grounds.

The teachers at the school were in a meeting, so the 62 children were
basically unsupervised while in the schoolyard on morning recess. The only
available adult seems to have been one of the mothers, who was operating the
school tuck shop - a sort of snack bar where candy, snacks and sodas are
sold.

According to some sources, UFOs had been seen in the skies over Zimbabwe for
two days before the incident occurred. Ruwa is about 20 kilometers from
Harare, the capitol of Zimbabwe.

Ariel School is a private elementary school with students of mixed ethnic
heritage.
The children said that they had first seen three objects in the sky. These
objects would disappear and then reappear in a different location. The
objects moved closer and closer to the ground and finally landed in a brushy
area adjacent to the schoolyard. This area had not been fully cleared yet
and was off-limits to the students. The object landed, or hovered just above
the ground, in an area about 100 meters from the students.

The children said that a small man, about one meter in height, appeared on
top of the object. The little man, who was described as having a scrawny
neck, long black hair, and huge eyes, walked a short way across the ground
toward the students. When he noticed the children, he vanished and then
reappeared at the back of the object. The object then took off and vanished.

The smaller children were very frightened and cried for help. They believed
that the little man was a demon who would eat them. Black African children
have heard legends of [a
href="http://www.freep.com/news/nw/qwitch26.htm"]tokoloshis[/a], demons who
eat children. The children ran to the tuck shop operator, but she did not
want to leave the shop unattended and so did not go.

The late Cynthia Hind, known as Africa's foremost UFO investigator,
investigated the case the next day. When she was first contacted, she asked
the headmaster of the school, Colin Mackie, to have the children draw
pictures of what they had seen. When she arrived at the school, he had about
35 drawings for her. The drawings were of very similar objects.

'I swear by every hair on my head and the whole Bible that I am telling the
truth.'

The headmaster affirmed that he believed that the students were telling the
truth, and one little girl told Cynthia Hind that, 'I swear by every hair on
my head and the whole Bible that I am telling the truth.'

Dr. John Mack, the abduction researcher, and his associate Dominique
Callimanopulos went to Ruwa and spent two days interviewing and counseling
twelve of the children and their parents.

"Those thoughts came from the man - the man's eyes."

Curiously, the older students said that they felt that the creatures
communicated with them somehow, sending the message that we humans are
destroying our planet, polluting the environment in ways that will have dire
consequences
