The New Boy
I've got a new boy in my class, he started yesterday.
My workload has gone up again but not, of course, my pay.
I think he's got a problem. His manners aren't too good.
When I ask him to behave himself, he asks me why he should.
I've really got my work cut out, he acts as hard as nails.
He uses it as his defence when others see he fails.
I'll have to be more positive, reward him with my praise.
We'll have to work in partnership to moderate his ways.
I'll give him stars for being good. He'll stick them on a chart.
I'll watch him smile at his reward, when he fulfills his part.
He needs to grow in self esteem, but that will all depend,
On, Am I seen his enemy or caring trusted friend?
