So You Want to Be ATeacher?

What ever happened to child centred education ....

Admonishment

When you tell a child off,

How do you behave?

Do you relly lose your cool,

And shout and rant and rave?

Does your voice begin to shriek,

Your face turn purple, red?

Does the child child start blubbering,

"My God! I think I'm dead."

A child may have a tantrum,

But how in heaven's name,

Can you tell that child behave,

When you do just the same?

You could approach it differently,

With reason and with care.

To show the child another way,

That we should all be fair.

For we are moulding children,

They learn from how we act.

Sometimes a gentler telling off,

Is worse than being smacked.

To know you've really hurt a friend,

May cause a sense of guilt,

But this can only happen,

When a friendship has been built.
