EUROPEAN MYTHOLOGY PARK
WITH RESPECT TO OUR MYTHOLOGY WE BUILD THE FUTURE |
That’s what the sign was saying when I entered and together with the other people wondered what is in store for us to see and learn during our visit.
I decided to take the ‘’recommended’’ way so after entering the park I proceeded to the entrance that was promising to saw us a brief preview of what we will see and experience. On the way there on both sides images and statues from the European Mythology were there. Zeus holding his thunder, King Arthur on his horse and holding Excalibur, Loki looking around ready to play his next trick most probably at Thor who is nearby, a Viking watching the horizon, Ianos the two faced god looking at both directions at once and so many others. Some I recognised, some I had the read the signs realising that no matter how much time I spend reading about our mythology there was so much more to learn.
Entering we took our seats and waited for our voyage into the unknown to start. The lights slowly went off and a series of Gods and not only appeared and welcomed us to their domain. The seats started moving and become wagons moving us along seeing just pieces of our rich mythology and explaining in brief what each meant giving at the same time a brief history of the country were it originated.
The ‘’tour’’ took about 45 minutes but we all wished it had never ended on the one hand but made us eager to explore more of the park as we were sure that there was much more to see and learn.
Checking the map I can see the sections that there are to be explored. The Hellenic, the Nordic, the Celtic, the Roman, etc
I will continue my ''naration'' shortly but if anybody wish to add or put forward what she/he would like to see please email us on eurothemepark@hotmail.com and we shall post your comments and ideas. |
