Rescue

THIS DOG HAS NOW BEEN REHOMED

We have at present a dog in rescue.

Very strange situation. Sue had a phone call late of Friday 8th Sept 06  from a National Defence dog kennel in the Midlands saying that they had an Eurasier brought into their kennels the night before, This dog was one of about 6 other breed dogs, That came over from a rescue Kennels in Southern Ireland that had no room for them.

This dog was apperently found roaming the streets  3 days before, and taken to this kennel, in the mean time these Kennels have had  the dog Castrated. and then shipped over here to the UK. and Sue was then contacted.

Now we are very Concerned as to where this dog has come from. and are his owners in Southern Ireland out there going frantic looking for him..

He is a large wolf grey male, about 2-3 years old, excelent with children and other dogs (so far as we can assess ) He was picked up Sunday Morning by one of our co-ordinaters and being cared for and assesed by them at their home. He has a quite bad ear infection, which is now being treated but other than that is in good condition, well trained. and groomed. Not like a dog that has been roaming for any leanth of time or been mistreated. He  will remain where he is untill a full assesment can be made on him, before being put up for adoption.

If Anyone hears about an Eurasier going Missing in Ireland could they please contact the club. It would be nice to have him (nick name WOLFIE) Reunited with his owners.

Update on this dog. No previous owner could be found. therefore he was rehomed with a very nice family, where he is much loved and well cared for. Living the life of riley being spoiled.

The club would like to Congratulate  those people who have been attending shows since we have been able to show our Eurasiers.

It seems that whatever show!  the breed attends is it being given the top accolades  and place high in all other classes.

It is such a great shame that once we have been given these awards that we can go no further than to to a lap of honour in the main ring. such are the Kennel Club rules on the IMPORT REGISTER.

I have had quite a few calls asking when the breed can go on the Rare Breeds list instead of Import classes, I think that, it will be quite a while yet.  The only chance we have of being able to step up to rare breeds is for all those who wish to show, is to get out there and show them. fill the classes,!! show that we deserve our own classes, and that we are dedicated to showing our breed.

I myself have had Shiba Inu;s since they were in rare breeds, They were not in that category for very long before classes were awarded at  many open and championship shows. this was i'm my opinion, very swiftly followed by the breed being given the CC, and Champion status, but like a lot of breeds as soon as the tickets became available, people only went to Championship shows and classes at open shows are now very rare indeed. and even now at a lot of Champ shows we still don't have tickets. and some classes are empty or only one or two dogs present.  The Kennel Club do have the power to downgrade the breed back to No CC status. I do hope this is never going to have to be the case.

The object behind me saying this is please be patient. we have only just been given permission to show our breed, and again i'm my opinion, If we try to rush things, then in the long run we may have to take a step back. and i'm sure the only way to go and you will all agree "is  forward!
