ABC EURASIER CLUB of GREAT BRITAIN

E.C.G.B.(Proposed)

BREED STANDARD

Great news.

We received  a Letter from the Kennel Club on the 22nd of April 06

Outlining the New  Interim Breed Standard for the Eurasier.

It was quickly and thoroughly passed to all Committee Members for their approval.  I am Happy to report that it was accepted by all.  A letter has now been sent to the Kennel Club to that affect, to be included in the next Issue of the Kennel Gazette which is due out in May. Then and only then will be be able to enter our dogs into UK shows for exhibition,  For shows that Entries Close on or after the 1st of June 2006 once and only if  it has been published in the Kennel Gazette.

Bad News i'm afraid,

I have just come of the phone after talking to the Kennel Club.  Only to be told that the Breed standard  still has not yet gone through. Very disapointing  news for us in the UK,

I know a lot of us were hoping to show our dogs, at the Manchester Champ Show, but looks like we will have a much longer wait.

The next KC meeting is on January 31st, so lets all keep our fingers crossed for that date, but dont try holding your breath. This seems to be dragging out a long time, with nothing happening.  But things are moving, be it all very slowly, it has got to be worded correctly into English so as not to differ away from the FCI Standard.

As soon as we get any more news I will put it on here.

Discover Dogs London 05

The Eurasier Club of GB (proposed) was delighted to be

We were the ONLY ones to have been Invited to attend Discover dogs as  Members of the Discover Dogs Display.

Any portrayal on another web site of any other Eurasier persons that may have been present there on the two days.

Was unbeknown to the Kennel Club, and therefore is Unsanctioned by them.

Saturday 12th.. This was attended by Sue and Bill Turner and Alison Carter,

with Diesel, Kore and a very bouncy pup Buck.

From the moment the doors were open at 10 am, we were inundated with the public.  The Eurasier Stand was at bursting point at one stage, and all three of us seemed to be talking to 3 people at once, lol.

The dogs were very well behaved with Kore and Diesel knowing what it was all about as they were at Crufts Discover dogs earlier this year.  Buck is only just 6 months old, so was all very excited by it all, and loved all the attention. and was happy with all the flashes of cameras going off with the hundreds of photos that were taken of them. what a little star he was there.   We had one scary moment with our young pup when a child with a very large fluffy toy on his shoulders , (that had been won from one of the many stands at discover dogs) leaned over the pen to pet up the dogs and this flufy toy toppled of his shoulders and landed on top of Buck.  Well Buck was very startled and proceeded to bark at it. and at every other fluffy toy that passed him for a while, his bark was always with a wag of his tail and jumping up at the side of the pen, like he was saying Look mum theres another one, and another one !! Take the hint mum !! I want one ... so i took the hint and got him his own, Buck and fluffy toy were then quite happy together.

It was a long day with people still walking around right to the end, and by that time the dogs and us were very tired and glad to be heading home. a good and pleasant time was had by all of us.

Sunday 13th ... this was Richard and Tracys day with their two Eurasiers Lexi and Pepper. Again Lexi was fine as she also was at Crufts this year. But Pepper is Bucks Sister, so was also new to it all. Although Richard and Tracy arrived a little late, due to traffic, they had a crowd waiting for them at the stand when they arrived. They have informed me that photos were being taken of the dogs before they had , had a chance to put them in the Discover dogs Pens. Both dogs behaved themselves as they should. Greeting the public with a wag of the tail.  Again by the end of the day all were ready to come home and have a much deserved rest.

It seems to us that the Eurasier is a dog that could take off as a breed in this country very fast,

But we would hope that the right type of people for this loving but reserved breed, will be the ones that will share their lives with them.    Please if you are Interested in an Eurasier to share your life with,   Do your homework on the breed first. Find out their needs,  Ask about Hips , eyes. Patellas, Temperaments.    Go and Visit your Breeders Home,  See the dogs in a family environment, before there are any puppy for you to go and see, "Every one loves a puppy," and that could be your first mistake,   Look at the adults, make sure that you can cope and have room for a dog of that size. ask about grooming , Moulting. ect, In fact make a list of all the things no matter how silly they may seem to some breeder, they are what YOU need to know.

Take it with you and expect ANSWERS...

CRUFTS 2005 DISCOVER DOGS

Crufts 10-13th 2005

Discover dogs

The Eurasier club of Great Britain (proposed) had its first outing at Crufts Discover Dogs 2005.

We all had a fabulous time and the dogs never put a paw wrong on any of the days.

Day 1, Astras, Diesel, and their granddaughter Kore attended, with me (sue) Bill, Toni, Alison, Derek.

We were all kept busy and on our toes, from the moment we arrived with only a couple of time during the day, where things went a bit slower, enabling us all to have a cuppa (whew ) and did we need that cuppa.

Day 2.  This was attended by Lexi, with owners Richard and Tracey,

Another very busy day, this was Lexis’s first time, in this kind of exhibition , well any kind really as she is only 8 months old. And she got asked to take part in the Dogs Day out Training class and guess the breed.

Day 3 This was the day for Akira and Dylan with owners Charlotte and Sharon. Unfortunately Dylan and owner Sharon could not make it so Charlotte along with her mum and dad managed the stand all day, well done Charlotte and Akira. It was I believe a very busy day, and lots of fun was to be had. Charlotte, even got to talk about the Eurasier on Crufts FM, and Akira got to take part in Guess the breed.

Day 4.  Diesel, Kore and Lexi, were the dogs on the stand this day with all owners, and even extra Eurasier people came to give us a break, and do their part on the stand.

Today was Kore’s turn to do guess the breed, and a training lesson with Dog’s Day Out.

She did this with Chris, who has never handled Kore before, what made it very special is Chris is in a wheelchair, Kore has never walked beside a wheelchair before, but behaved very, well much to our relief.

There is so much interest for the Eurasier, and many, many, People asking when we are able to start to show them. Well of course this is in the hands of the Kennel Club and the acceptance of the breed standard. This was sent into the Kennel Club over a year ago. We are hoping for the breed Standard to be read at the KC next meeting to be held on 19th April. After which time we hope to be given a date for us to start campaigning our Eurasiers at shows in the Import Classes.

Summary, a great time was had by all of us that attended, and the dogs behaved so well. We are all very proud of our Eurasiers, and to have been a part of Discover Dogs at Crufts 2005.
