Code  of Conduct

The Eurasier Club of Great Britain

(Proposed)

 

Purpose

The purpose of the Eurasier C.G.B code of Ethics is to provide guidelines to all its members in the aid to fulfilling all the objectives of the club as set out in it’s constitution.

 

Each club member should :….

  • Consider the welfare of the breed when engaging in any activities involving the Eurasier, including Breeding, exhibiting, agility, selling of stock and rehoming (as need arises).
  • Also refrain from any and all activities that would be detrimental or prejudicial to the breed or club.
  • To learn about the breed and it’s characteristics, the F.C.I. and U.K. breed standard, and any other pertinent information, as to the further advancement of the breed, through education without any misrepresentation here in the U.K.
  • To practice responsible dog ownership, and to display good sportsmanship in all activities involving Eurasiers.
  • Not to make any false or misleading statements about the Eurasier, or character of any member who meets the standards of the E.C.GB. Code of ethics.

 

Each member that breeds a litter should

·        Breed only with the purpose of producing well-balanced dogs of exceptional quality, and that are physically and mentally sound, so as to preserve the gentle loyalty of the breed as a Companion dog. Be aware of any weaknesses and strengths and that of its siblings and parents where available, before you consider breeding your Eurasier.

·        Avoid, breeding any dog/bitch, which shows any disposition towards aggression or over cautiousness to strangers, also any unhealthy dog or those that deviate to far from the breed standard, and also those dogs with any inherited defects.

·        To breed only from dog/ bitches those have been Hip scored, and checked by a Veterinary Surgeon  for Luxated Patella, Entropion, Ectropion, and Distichiasis, (extra eye lashes).

·        Not to inbreed where possible, or to use the Eurasier to crossbreed.

·        Not to over breed any bitch, or breed on consecutive seasons without veterinary and K.C permission, and without good cause,

·        No bitch to be mated until at least her third season or to be mated before 24 months old. And must have one year (recommended  18 months) break between litters

·        Breeders must keep an accurate record of the birth registration and new puppy ownership.  And when advertising their puppies,

Honestly depict their pups in all advertisements and sales, making sure that the new owner is prepared in all aspects of the breed.

·        NO Eurasier is to be knowingly sold to a pet shop or puppy farm, or given away as a prize in any competition or raffle.

·        If you ever find yourself in a position of not being able to keep your Eurasier, first contact should be with the breeder, then the clubs, which will advise and help you, re-home your Eurasier.

·        Conduct

·        The Committee and Officers of the Committee and all Members of the E.C.o.G.B shall at all times conduct themselves in a manner of respect for each other. And help and advice new comers to the breed in an honest, accurate. And helpful way.

·        They will all work together for the betterment of the Eurasier breed and promote it in an Honest and accurate way at all times.

·        They are to insure good housing, food, and veterinary care for their Eurasiers at all times.

·        Will only breed from dog /bitches of sound mind, temperament, and in good health, having had done all the required health checks first.  Breeders to help and assist if ever the need arises in the re-homing of a displaced dog, and if possible to take back for re-homing any dog bred by themselves
