Brainstormers

Promotions

New Members

Application for society membership is open to anyone ingame, but preference will be given to people known by other members - for example a disciple.

Ranks

The ranking is military, so recruit, private, sergeant, captain, and colonel

Promotions

The primary requirement for promotion is to be active ingame and in soc.    Within soc this could include sponsoring events, leading hunts or tp runs, being active in forum, teaching/training other members etc.  Sergeants or higher should have graduated from discipleship, or have enough skill for graduation.  Captains and above should have all tps ingame.    Concerning total skills, 25k would be reasonable for a captain, and 50k for a colonel.  Captains and above should have tp chip gear.

New  Aug/08                  There will be a minimum required time in rank before a member will be considered for promotion.   This will become effective after a member's promotion, so it doesn't apply until then.   Tentatively, members will be required to spend 2 months @ recruit rank, 3  months @ private, 3 months @ sergeant and 4 months @ captain before potential promotion is possible.    It does not mean you will be automatically promoted after this time in soc either.

These are to be taken as guidelines, not as rules or set goals that guarantee promotion.   The final decision will be made by the top ranking members.

Demotion, although unpleasant, will be used in the case a member goes inactive without prior notice.  The demotion will be one rank per month, on the last calendar day of the month.   More than 2 months of inactivity at the lowest rank will result in the member being removed from the society list.    Members can regain former ranking by returning as active members.

Rules of the hunt

Here are the soc rules for team hunts

Dave's Doctrine        Use the soc name or some form of it in team hunts

Riv's Rule                 Team leader sets the loot rules.   Also determines how single large loot is split (or not)

Larkin's Law             Have appropriate load out (weapon, armor and AMMO) for the hunt

Kdawg's Code          Make sure you have enough time for the hunt, and a stable connection.

Luke's Lesson          Have some idea what mob to hunt before you make the call on soc chat.  "Anything" is not a mob

Kenni's Command    Assemble as quickly as possible at the jump off point - hopefully members have the tp

Mantas' Mandate      In the case of a beacon mission, Mantas is leader regardless of other ranks.

Valygar's Virtue        No killing of members in PVP4 unless requested as an emergency escape.   Any member P/K-ing must announce they are hunting humans on soc chat.

You should have FRAPS (www.fraps.com) or some other screen shot program loaded to take pics of globals and HOFs.  Be careful of hunts in pvp areas - don't shoot team members accidentally.

Colonels

Brainstormer Colonels and Their Area of Responsibility
