A Look At Collecting Topps Chrome Sports Cards. Football & Basketball

If you are looking to invest in basketball cards and are wondering which boxes from which year to collect, look no more. In my opinion, the best year to collect right now is 2005-06! The reason I say this is because this year is loaded with rookies and is still relatively affordable.
2005-06 features the rookie cards of Chris Paul, Deron Williams, Andrew Bynum, Nate Robinson, David Lee, Danny Granger, Raymond Felton, Charlie Villanueva, Jason Maxiell, Channing Frye, Monta Ellis, and more. This year of basketball cards is only rivaled by the 2003-04 basketball card year that features the rookie cards of LeBron James, Dywane Wade, and Carmelo Anthony. Overall, in my opinion, Topps Chrome is one of the best sports cards out there to collect.
The set that I am collecting right now is the 2005-06 Topps Chrome basketball. I just purchased 3 boxes last week and have put them away unopened! I got a great price on these boxes at $65 per. I am looking at it's investment potential and it looks very good! The Chris Paul rookie and the Deron Williams rookie cards should carry this set for years to come.
The most popular Topps Chrome set is the 2003-04 issue. This set is loaded with the rookie cards of today's hottest NBA players. Leading the way is LeBron James. Followed by Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Bosh and more. Year in and year out, Topps Chrome basketball cards are always a winner.
Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose is another solid basketball card investment. Ever since he came out of Memphis in the 2008 NBA Draft he has played well in the pros. He had a great series last year in the NBA playoffs against the Boston Celtics. And of course with him playing so well, his rookie cards are hot right now. Especially the Derrick Rose 2008-09 Topps Chrome. A nice card to add to your basketball card collection.
New York Jets rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez has had his ups and downs so far in the 2009 NFL season. He was awful in the game when they played Miami. But, he has
had some good games as well and his rookie cards seem to be selling well. The Mark Sanchez 2009 Topps Chrome is a solid rookie card of the former USC QB.

My recent Sports card purchases.
July 4, 2006-Well, it has been over three years now since I created this website back in the summer of 2003.
I am very dissapointed in the etopps program as it has not succeeded as many collectors thought and hoped. I have sold off my whole portfolio at a loss as most of the cards have bottomed out in price.
etopps cards are garbage in my opinion and they hold NO value. Heck, who wants to buy and IPO of an average player for $8.50, when you can get a good autographed rookie card with a lower print run for nearly the same price??!! Here is an example. I recently picked up a 2005-06 Upper Deck Trilogy Luther Head autograph rookie card for $5.00 on yahoo auctions. Etopps is just not worth it to me.
I have now started back collecting regular sports cards and it is much better. I mainly collect NBA autograph cards and rookies.
Albert Pujols rookie cards are on fire right now as he is hitting a ton of home runs in this 2006 baseball season. Pujols has 28 home runs as I write this. I recently picked up a few Albert Pujols rookie cards myself. Check them out below. One is the Albert Pujols 2001 Donruss "The Rookies" card #R97. And the other is a 2001 Topps Chrome Ichiro/Pujols Rookie of the year card #T99. Both are really nice cards and they blow any etopps card out of the water.
