MANAGEMENT TEAM
The ETL Group Limited Management Team is drawn from personnel with extensive maritime, oil and gas industry and offshore exploration and development experience. This allows the Company to operate in such a way that it understands what services its Clients needs together with the expected commitment to performance and application of safe working practises.
Managing Director:
Captain Deepak Ahluwalia brings to the Company 17 years of Mercantile Marine experience including sea command and VLCC experience, 10 years of distribution, storage and handling of petroleum products, marine survey experience and practice across the whole range of survey operations and 10 years (Over 170 offtakes) of off-shore pilotage experience. Deepak has provided the vision that has brought ETL Group Limited into being and made it a highly competitive and effective Company operating in the “big league.”
Deepak is well known in the Indian community providing a lot of mentoring in the business area. He is also a Justice of Peace in New Plymouth.
Operations Director:
Richard Kara provides the Company with 35 years waterfront experience in both operations and management. Richard provides the operational management of the Company’s Ship Loading Services contract with Shell Todd Oil Services Ltd, Australian Worldwide Exploration and on the Newton King Tanker Terminal in New Plymouth. He fills the role of Operations Manager for Logistic Solutions Services (a JV between ETL and Offshore Solutions) for logistic support and drilling materials supervision to Shell Todd Oil Services Ltd. Richard also undertakes a range of marine survey work around New Zealand.
Chief Executive Officer:
Captain Michael Murdoch has a maritime background as a Hydrographic Surveyor, including sea command in the Royal New Zealand Navy. He was Chief Surveyor for the Maui "A" Offshore Development Project for eight years, and carried out the duties of Marine Superintendent for the Geotechnical Survey of the Kupe Field. He has a total of some 41 years marine experience. Mike has worked with a number of companies implementing Quality Management Systems to ISO 9000 requirements. As well as supporting the marine survey operations Mike is responsible for the Business Management and Development, Policy Development and Policy Implementation functions in the Company.
Operations Manager:
Dennis Parker provides the company with 38 years of Waterfront experience in both Operations and Management. Dennis has worked as a stevedore, joining the ETL Group in a management role in 1990. Dennis has particular skills in Human Resources and Logistics Co-ordination with special emphasis on servicing the Offshore Oil and Gas industry. Currently servicing Shell Todd Oil Services, Australian Worldwide Exploration, POGO and OMV Exploration & Production Co., his work demands daily liaison with staff to meet client needs and expectations.
Marine Operations / FPSO Pilots / Mooring Masters:
Captain Jagdeep S Dhindsa
Captain Achal Swarup
They bring with them over 47 years of combined sea-going experience. They have extensive command and pilotage experience on Crude / Product & Chemical Tankers as well as super cape sized bulk carriers. Jag & Achal are involved in providing Marine Support Services to Australian Worldwide Explorations for their new FPSO “Umuroa” off the Taranaki Coast of New Zealand. As part of the Company’s planned strategic growth, they are managing projects to further develop the Company’s management systems in order to implement a comprehensive Safe Ship Management system capability as an Authorised Organisation under New Zealand Maritime Rules.
Jag & Achal also undertake a range of marine survey work related to petroleum products, chemicals, dry bulk, meat export and container pre-shipment inspections. They have extensive experience of the Ship Management Systems conforming to the ISM Code.
ETL Group Limited is proud of its Management Team; it has a wealth of experience in the Oil and Gas Industry both in New Zealand and Overseas. This core Team is dedicated to Safety, Quality and Client satisfaction.
Logistics Co-ordinator:
ETL has entered into a Joint Venture Agreement with Offshore Solutions (a Seaworks Ltd, ETL Group Ltd and Swire Pacific Offshore Ltd Joint Venture), to provide Exploration Drilling and Production logistic support services both on and offshore Taranaki.
The Logistics Activity Co-ordinator is Kevin Mills. Kevin comes to ETL with a vast experience of managing the logistics operations of virtually all of the Oil Exploration Companies that have worked on and offshore Taranaki. These companies include Tricentral, Triton, Arco, Prosafe, AWE, POGO, Tap Oil, Amoco, Marathon Petroleum, Petrocorp, Sedco Forex, Shell BP, Fletcher Challenge, Diamond Offshore and Shell Todd Oil Services Ltd. amongst others.
