Etherstone Cavies

 A BIT ABOUT MYSELF

Welcome to the home of Etherstone Cavies. My name is Caroline and I live in Newcastle upon Tyne. I have owned cavies (guinea pigs) for many years. It all started about 15 years ago with a cream and white sheltie sow named Suki. She came from a breeder in Cumbria, along with my sister's black and gold peruvian sow named Coco. These two girls will always be very special as they were my first, and Suki lived to be 8 years of age, a very good age for a pampered cavy.

I then went on to owning many different short-haired cavies, which I bought from local pet shops. After realising that these had not always had the best breeding or start in life, and only lived for 2-3 years, I decided that my next pets would be from a breeder who was as passionate about them as I was. I then purchased two alpaca girls named Daisy and Bella.

Through my search for a reputable breeder (and suddenly discovering that there were now many different breeds of long-haired cavies) I again fell in love with the Peruvian. I was also lucky to meet a new breed called the Lunkarya. I now intend to build up my stocks of quality cavies in order to ensure my cavies live the best life possible here at Etherstone Cavies.
