About
Here are my favourite (or atleast, fics I enjoyed) fanfics from the Fruits Basket fandom, and a little about them Right now they're not in any real order, but later I might organize them depending on what warnings I'd give them, so you can just skip anything you don't like. Oh, and unless otherwise noted, all of these are from -Fanfiction.net.

Cat and Rat: Was It Meant To Be?. by Kativa-Chan
Warnings: Shounen-ai/yaoi, non-graphical rape
Pairing: Kyo/Yuki, Akito/Yuki rape
Ah, Cat and Rat. Now, I'm not going to lie to you. In grammar and spelling, it isn't the best. In fact, it's a pretty average story...that is, until you get to the last chapter or two. Hoo boy. There's this HUGE twist...it's really sad. Seriously, get out your tissues. The funny thing about it is, if you know what's going to happen, or you've read it already or something, it really isn't that sad, even though it's not just sad because it's surprising. It's very long though, so if you like long stories where you can just sit down and read all the chapters in succession like I did, you'll like this. I think it's best read that way, anyway.
Basically, it's just about Kyo and Yuki falling in love, but there are other things too- Akito raping Yuki, (the author found out about the infamous Akito spoiler about two-thirds of the way through the fic...I feel sorry for her.), and of course, I'm not really sure if this is a spoiler or not so I'll be as vague as I can, what's gonna happen to Kyo unless he does something. He knows it'll happen to Yuki if he doesn't do it though so he doesn't...and that's where the twist kicks in. Oops...should I have told you that? O:)

Lemonade by Kativa-Chan
Warnings: shounen-ai/yaoi, rape, mpreg, possible incest (by that I mean real incest by Fruits Basket standards)
Pairings: Well...here's an excerpt from the first chapter: The couples you ask? Haru/Yuki, Kyou/Yuki, Akito/Yuki, Hatori/Yuki, Shigure/Yuki, Kureno/Yuki, Momiji/Yuki, Ritsu/Yuki and possibly some others. Suggest some ok?
Lemonade is possibly one of the most difficult fics to describe, let along work out who to reccomend it to. It's one of those weird fics which could somehow be both classed as humour and angst. I think it's best for people who either love Yuki or hate him, which may seem weird, but if you read it it makes sense. Of course, you need to like torturing Yuki as well if you are the former. And hopefully get a tiny bit of fanfic-sadistic pleasure from it too. It was created by two Yuki lovers who loved to see him tortured. That's probably why I like it so much. It's a very interesting fic which can be both funny and sad depending on the reader.
What happens is this: Haru buys a potion which is supposed to make Yuki love him, but doesn't look at the warnings on the back, which tell him two drops are definitely enough, and if anyone else drinks it they'll fall in love with Yuki. Anyway, he puts it in some lemonade for Yuki to drink. The problem is, Yuki doesn't drink it, but pretty much every other male Sohma but Haru does, even Ayame, causing them to fall in love with him. Then the potion gets stronger over time, and Haru realizes what's going on...ah, poor Yuki. :)

That Corner Has Toys by Yosuke
Warnings: Child abuse, animal abuse
Characters: Yuki, Akito, mention of other Sohmas
There's one word to describe this story: angst. Or, rather, angstangstangstangstANGST. It's so frickin' SAD you just find yourself falling into this depression just by reading it which lasts for fifteen minutes to half an hour. It's as well written as it is angsty though, which obvously is extremely so. The thing about it is though, I doubt doubt one single bit of it, which just makes me love my Yuki even more. (BTW, all three of these so far have had Yuki as a main character. Coincidence ne? ;)) Not for people with weak stomachs and definitely not for people who don't like angst. Very intense.
The fanfic is all about Yuki as a child, and Akito. That is, how Akito tortured Yuki into obedience as a child. Seems simple enough, but there are many ways to torture a person, and Akito is quite imaginative...

Written In The Stars by Kurai Himitsu
Warnings: Shounen-ai Pairings: Hatori/Ayame
Heh, FINALLY a fic without Yuki as a main character! Yaaay! Lol. Also, before I start, if you like Hatori/Ayame/Hatori, go to Kurai Himitsu if you haven't already. Right now. She has practically a MILLION Hatoyame fics. And they're all good. Very good. Anyway, Written In The Stars is pure, pure fluff. If the one above was angstangstANGST, this is flufffluffFLUFF. It's so sweet...so, well, beautiful. Makes you wanna just go 'Awwww!' when you read it, especially when you get to the end and find the title. Definitely not for people who don't like sap, but for anyone who does, definitely. Written In The Stars is just a little Hatoyame one-shot about the two at a Tanabata festival, which is a real Japanese festival. It's all about the kind of myth story thingie which goes with it, about the...weaver and the cowhearder, I think? I'm not Japanese so I'm not entirely sure. But it doesn't matter, it makes sense if you read it. Or at least enough sense that you don't get confused. Anyway, Ayame puts his wish on the paper (ditto), and then tells Hatori how he sympathises with Tanabatatsume. Just read it, ok? :)

Better Left Unsaid by Kurai Himitsu
Warnings: Shounen-ai
Pairings: One-sided Ayame/Hatori
Yep, another one by Kurai Himitsu, and also another Hatoyame one. This one is a bit different though, and by a bit I mean very. It's definitely more angst than sap, but...well, it's kind of weird in it. It's still very good, of course, though, and made my eyes fill with tears. It's a one-shot, but the summary says the author may be persuaded otherwise. I dunno, maybe it's been too long? Who knows. The point is, it's quite a sad little story about unrequited love and poor decisions. Aw. I feel so sorry for Ayame and Hatori at the end...I wanna see how things turn out for them.
Hatori suddenly discovers one day that something has been going on right under his nose ever since they were in high-school: Ayame loves him. Ayame doesn't TELL him per se, but Hatori finally sees it. The problem is, Hatori doesn't love him back. Thus the quandrary. he talks to Shigure and Miine, who confirm it, and decides to tell Ayame that he doesn't love him. Thus, the angst.

Hollow by Futago no Seishi
Warnings: Incest, yaoi
Pairings: Yuki/Ayame
Back to the fics with Yuki as a main character! :) This is one of those rare, really well-written one-shots. It's also incredibly angsty, like plenty of the other fanfics here. It's one of those deep, meaningful fics which you really need to be able to think about, rather than just another straightforward get-together fics where you don't need to think at all. If you do read it though, you'll be rewarded with an excellently written fic where you can practically feel the angst.
This is an unusual fic to peg a summary on. Like That Corner Has Toys, it doesn't have an actual plot. In fact, it has even less of a plot that TCHT. It's more of a chance to delve into the mind of Yuki and his thoughts about Ayame and their relationship, almost a stream-of-consicousness. Very interesting.
