East Suburban Young Marines

 Welcome to the East Suburban Young Marines web site. The Young Marines were founded by the Brass City Marine Corps League Detachment in 1958. The official charter was issues on October 17, 1965, in 1975 membership was extended to girls, in 1980 the program received tax exempt as a youth educational organization and in 1995 went international with the formation of units in Japan. The Young Marines is the official drug demand reduction program of the United States Marine Corps. The Young Marines is open to boys and girls ages 8-18.
