This is how we work: very very slowly. . .we're like wine, only we just get older. . .and ferment i.e., amass effluvium, as time goes by. . .we're working on the "getting better with time" thing. . .we're also trying to use less ellipses and more capitol letters (there's a lot of work to be done). Here are the latest developments (and the second colon in less than one paragraph): we have lots of possible shows lined up, not many definite shows. Here’s what I know: < (# 3) we have a show on April 9th at the new and improved artspace with grand bonina, black bear, plunge into death (they had better deliver the rock with a name like that) and so humble (T.J from eidolon's new band), I am so excited about this show I can hardlyhitthespacebar. It starts at 5, which means you should be there BEFORE 5, because every band is guaranteed to stuff your stockings with chocolate and octopus and other such aphrodisiacs. We have another show at artspace on the 21st of may with baby catapult (seriously) and the hymen maneuver (what?), that show starts at 7. I don't know how many of you know Brian king; he's a great guy, but he didn't want to stop there. . .he decided to form a band . . .and call it baby catapult. holy crap. Here’s what I don't know: we could very well play a show at O'Brian's in Boston on April 21st with grand bonina, la mi vida violenta (espontaneo, grand bonina y la mi vida violenta. . .holy frijoles!) and some tba's, i'll let you know. we could have a show in attleboro on the 22nd of may with, you guessed it, grand bonina. we owe those guys some favors. we're going to crack down on the recording front pretty soon. we recently acquired our own mixer, so that should help us on our way. funny thing about clubs; if you don't have a recording to give them, they get a bit skeptical. go figure. so hopefully once that little discrepancy is sorted out, we'll be hitting up some more venues. . .and paying off our debts to grand bonina and busty before they take a baseball bat to our knee caps.

hey there, nick here. it's been a while, eh? sadly there aren't too many developments to expound upon. let's see...we recently recorded some music for a demo tape. it's not the best quality in the world (one microphone in the middle of a basement and a few overdubbed guitar and vocal tracks) but it will have to do for the time being. the tapes are free at shows.
speaking of shows, we finally have one confirmed. it will be at the ymca in gloucester on the 11th of december at 5:00 p.m. with marathon (aaron from de la hoya), black bear (my new favorite g-town band), daniel striped tiger (7" release show) and i think one other, maybe two....hopefully busty wrote the line up in the shows section. we are very excited about this show for a number of reasons and feel honored to have been invited along for the ride. that was sort of cheesy. sorry about that. it'll never happen again. we will have two brand new songs ready by then, both of which are fairly large departures from our older material. also, we will be resurrecting one of our oldies, we gave it a bit of an overhaul because it was BORING! but we like it fine now and are willing to give it a second chance. tell us what you think, just don't hurt its feelings, it's been through a lot in the past, well...day. 444444444444444 (that was elsie, sorry)

hey there, nick here. this is the new new site. the old new site is still running, but i am not sure for how long. sebastian had some free time with which he had nothing to do and decided that espontaneo needed a newer, more orange look. i dig it. it looks like the text on this site is going to be a mix between mine and sebastian's (examples: the rock tokyo link, the ole collage and the only thing written in the shows section) which is just fine by me! i think i'm going to make a more relevant links section in the near future, some of those sites are either dead or not worth going to anymore. i should start a new paragraph right now, but i think i might be too high off tryptophan(sp?) to actually do anything grammatically correct other than the occasional period hither and thither. i feel like dancing on a rooftop with a chimney sweep. if i wrote this about a week ago i would have said something about how the shows were flooding in and we almost didn't know what to do with ourselves because we were so damn excited...but alas, time brings about so many changes. the bastard! every show we had is now either cancelled or postponed. one show was cancelled because emile has to go see simon and garfunkle do their 476376th reunion tour, which is fine by me...but the rest just make me sad. i think we'll be hooking up with mission shifter for some shows real soon, so that should be fun. for now i'm just going to go enjoy watching all the new bands play around gloucester. hopefully we'll get the chance to join them soon!

NEW WEBSITE!
Tuesday, September 2nd, 2003
so i seem to start a lot of e-mails, letters and news entries with the word "so." ...so my favorite person in the world, jasmine, drew up the design i wanted for stickers and shirts and things. i really have to thank her for it because she's a phenominal artist and it must have been belittling to have to draw up the idea i had. it's this old fashioned looking picture of a guy yelling into one of those olden type megaphones, the kind that aren't battery operated (there's a different name for it, but it escapes me right now.) basically just a big cone. but mr old fashioned yelly man must have been drinking that day because instead of having a megaphone to yell into, he picked up a dog with a protective cone over its head to prevent it from eating its stitches and started yelling into its ass expecting his message to broadcast itself throughout the neighborhood. oh the crazy things old fashioned miserable mustached drunk folks'll do! naturally he is yelling the word "espontaneo"...naturally. expect this merchandise to be available sometime between now and never, because i'm really bad at getting things done.
