"It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas"... and that means it's cold, and soon to snow. I MUST be going back to work! Yes that's right, I'm finally going back to work.

It's almost a running joke with me now. Take the summers off, cuz lets face it... who wants to drive on dry boring roads?! Get some excitement with cold snow and ice!

Well starting work, means starting another chapter. The new contracted job is less driving and more technical work.
Starting November 1st and reaching into February I'll be driving a short 26 foot truck slowly across Canada, east to west. I so wish I could go into great detail, however with the contract, I can not. There's a lot of money being spent in the gig... and I couldn't afford to pay them, so my mouth is shut!

This job, like I said ends in February. The company will then look at more jobs for me, and at that point, can explain what I was doing, and even get into videos again.

Also, I have been in touch with the north. That's right, since July I have been in contact with Yellow Knife about the ice roads. So far the word is... hold on. The reason for "hold on" is there's less loads then last year.
Two years ago the company I'd be pulling for had 2200 loads. Last year they had 1200 loads. And as you may recall, at the last minute they found out it was 1200 loads and didn't need so many drivers. This year, there's an estimated 800 loads! With the late call to come up to the north, and not being available, he's trying what he can to get me up there this year. But with that little of loads...

I have insider info that 2011 will be a big year up there, so I will have no problem then. Now I do have another "in" for the ice roads, and am trying to form a back up plan. And as far as I know, the contract ending in February will not hinder the ice roads.

Either case, once finished up north, we will proceed in my immigration situation. We have found out that one papers fee has dropped from $500 to $355. And may drop more before we start. We've been told that the papers are taking approximately six months, start to finish. I will then be able to drive for a US company. I think I'll look for Regional work! Being home this long, I've taken to a life... but I still miss the open road!
