ABOUT US

Earth, Air, & Water Works, Inc. is dedicated to the ideals of global environmental preservation & conservation in the belief that our earths natural resources, our mountains, forests, deserts and our plains, our seas, rivers, lakes and other waterways,....indeed the very air that we breathe, are our most precious possessions and must be protected and preserved

Earth, Air & Waterworks, Inc. was founded in an effort to establish and promote sound biological diversity to all areas, particularly those areas affected by urban sprawl.

We are headquartered in beautiful rural upstate New York, just 18 miles north of the bustling capitol city of Albany. This is an area once rich with farmlands and natural resources such as rivers, lakes, mountains and forests. However a recent study shows that in this region alone, during the last 20 years over 70,000 acres of agricultural lands have been lost to development and over 3,000 acres of wetlands has disappeared. While local communities grow at an average rate of 51%, local taxes have soared, largely due to residential development. Traffic on our highways has more than doubled and the district is on the verge of becoming a "non-attainment" area under EPA Clean Air Regulations. Rivers are polluted and forests are clear cut and many species of wildlife are fast disappearing. It is for these reasons our organization was formed.....to curtail the onslaught of urban development and to protect and preserve our natural resources while we still can!

Earth, Air & WaterWorks, Inc. is the proud sponsor of "The Pittstown/Johnsonville Hoosic River Project", a rural grassroots organization dedicated to preserving their rural heritage in "harmony with nature."  One way they propose to do this is by addressing some long-ignored environmental issues in the area, particularly along the banks of Hoosic River by the Johnsonville Hydroelectric dam. The goal is to establish a "forever" green & blue senic way along the river where it winds through the tiny Hamlet of Johnsonville, NY. Local residents are just beginning to realize how very under-appreciated the river is by elected officials in that area. There are absolutely NO protections for this important river there: The Hoosic River is THE LARGEST estuary of the Historic Hudson River. . You can learn more about this project by clicking the "PROJECTS" icon on the navbar at top of the page.
