Rpg Maker XP

Full Screen:Press Alt+Enter while playing a Rpg Maker XP Game.

Add Monsters:Right click on a map go down to properties  where it says monster group right click in any white spot go down to Edit choose your monster and click ok when you put all the monsters you want click ok.

Import Stuff From Your Computer:Go to tools go to Docs Manager and click import and select the file you want in the category you want.

Are right first open your Rpg Maker Xp then click File on the top go to New Project to start a new project or to edit games you saved go to file then open then click open Game when you create a new project it should look like this



Name your new game whatever you want. It will save in the RPGXP folder in your My Documents folder. You can change it if you want.

Now that you have created a new game a new screen will pop up that looks like this.


This is basicly your workstation heres some tools there is

Data Base:This is basicly where you choose heros,tilesets,sound,coomon events,title screen and more.

Document Management:This is where you can upload files from your machine for characters,tile sets.music,sound effects and more click import and choose the file from your machine in the catergory you want then click ok to select the those files you uploaded go to the data base.

Test play:You can use test play to see if things work out the way you wanted it to and if you want to just play your game for fun

Script Database:This is the new thing abour Rpg Maker if you know ruby code you can have unlimited things to do with your game select the category you want to a edit do not mess with the script only if you know ruby code pretty well and you know what your doing bad things can happen if you don't know ruby code or you don't know what your doing or both.

Things you should do to make your game good

1.Make your own heroes don't leave it with the default characters that could make your game very unsucessful.

2.Don't have to many default things in your game you should upload your own tile screen and characters.

3.Make sure to add monsters to add them right  click map001 or whatever if you named it something else then go to monster group right click in a blank spot and click edit choose your monster and click ok keep doing this until you have all the monsters you want.

Thats about it now lets talk about using that database.

Heros:To change the sprite of your character click the characters sprite choose the sprite you want and click ok then type in the name of your characters to change there battle screen to the same thing as changing the sprite but instead click the characters battle graphic.

Monsters:Go to monsters this is where you can manage monster groups and names or create new groups.

Tile set:This is where you choose a tile set and a few other things having to do with tile sets,

Animations:This is here you can view the animations and do tother things.

Thats about it with the database lets talk about misc. things.

Misc. Things

Full Screen:press qwickly alt+enter in the game will be in full screen.

Main Menu:Press X while walking around finding monsters.

Tile Set Making:

Well there will be a little selection of items in the left make little swares of what you want with your mouse then make sure it's in draw mode and left click where you want the items you selected to be and the little S block is where you start you can move this around
