My name is Amy, and I am a wife, stay-at-home mother of 3 beautiful children and a recipe ADDICT! I have started my weight loss mission a million times, a hundred "I'm going to start on Monday"s have come and gone. I got serious January 1st of 2007 and decided I finally had to do something. I was the heaviest I have ever been. Gaining 25+pounds with each baby (and keeping AT LEAST 15lbs from each) I was 172lbs on my 5ft 3 in frame. NOT PRETTY. I was embarassed to be the fat girl in our Sunday School class, the fat mom at my son's school, the fat person that I didn't even recognize anymore in pictures. So my wonderful husband Jason and I resolved to not let another year go by with regret over not at least really giving weight loss an honest effort. We stuck to our guns and lost almost 80 pounds between us!! (If you need a visual, that is 320 sticks of butter....melt that, and it would probably fill a baby pool!! ICK!!) We ate healthier, started exercising, and in general felt a million times better about ourselves. Since then, we have done as so many of us do, and let the holidays throw us off our healthy track. Being an avid Christmas cookie baker is NOT good for the healthy lifestyle we had adopted! So, now we find ourselves at another New Year with the same resolution. This time, at least we start a little closer to the goal than the last year...Fortunately with my addiction to searching out and trying new recipes, I am so blessed that my family will eat just about anything. (okay, except the 4 year old...she is the typical picky pb&J kid) We use the "you have to try at least one bite" rule on her! It amazes me that sometimes the recipes I think they will LOVE, they hardly touch, and then the ones I never expect them to like, they gobble up and beg for more!! That being said, I hope you will check out the recipes, find a few that sound interesting and give them a try. I hope they help make your personal journey a little tastier!
