FOOD, GLORIOUS, FOOD!!

How I love thee, let me count the ways...

  • Oh, Mrs. Freshley's Snackaway chocolate cupcakes, you are my favorite!! Chocolatey, cakey, frostingy goodness!! Even better than the original Hostess version! (I love them cold out of the fridge! YUM!)
  • Special K with red berries, even though my daughter eats all the berries and I only get the "K",  it is so good!!
  • La Tortilla Factory Smart & Delicious Soft Wraps, how can you beat a HUGE wrap that is actually soft enough to roll around lots of filling without cracking?? And all those different flavors!! (Rye is my favorite and is only 90 cal/ 3g fat/ 13g fiber...YES, THIRTEEN!!)
  • Yoplait Light Thick & Creamy yogurt, fat free and C-R-E-A-M-Y!!! And the peach tastes like real peaches! Sigh!!
  • Reduced fat crescent roll dough. Is there anything you CAN'T make with these things?? Appetizers, main dish, dessert...LOVE 'EM!!
  • Campbell's Select Butternut Squash Soup is possibly my lunchtime salvation! When there is nothing else in the house to eat, and I am staring at my daughter's pb&j crusts, this creamy delicious soup ALWAYS sounds good! It is sooo delicious! You MUST try it!
  • Paul Newman's light Balsamic Vinagrette is not only a fabulous salad dressing (on baby spinach with almond slivers, craisins, and blue cheese crumbles is my FAVE!!) but it also makes a great marinade for chicken or pork! YUM!
  • String cheese is a portion control freaks best friend!! Individually wrapped goodness whenever I need a quick snack without tons of calories!
  • Chung's egg rolls, found in the deli department of my local Kroger, these are as good as any found in a restaurant and VERY figure friendly!! Also known as Van's in some areas, they are SOOO worth the $3.99!!
  • Hoison sauce is invaluable for stir frys with fabulous asian flavor! I could almost eat it out of the jar...almost.
  • Green Giant Frozen Cauliflower and Three Cheese Sauce -when I served this at dinner, it was the only time I have seen all three of my children eat ALL of a veggie and NO ONE complained!! Very cheesy and delicious, and enough sauce to put on a baked potato for a quick lunch!( Also comes in a broccoli, carrot, cauliflower medley or broccoli)
  • Laughing Cow light Swiss wedges  with a few wheat thins and a wedge of this cheese, you have a great snack! Not to mention it makes a great base for alfredo sauce
  • Spices and herbs I can't imagine how I ever made a mexican meal without cumin or cilantro, or an Indian dish without curry powder!! Check out your spice aisle and produce departments and pick out something new to try!! Most spices have serving suggestions right on the containers.

( I will continue this list as I come across things I just can't live without!! These are the things my poor feeble mind can recall at the moment...)
