Living with Eppu

Back in Finland

After 5 years in Ettlingen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany we returned to our home country Finland. The Christmas 2005 was the first one for years that we spent at our own home in Finland for a long, long time. And that Christmas certainly was different! Not only that we were in now living in the official Christmas City of Finland, there was no family around - just two of us - and no fancy dinners, basically nothing else but snow and the town of Turku itself reminded us about Christmas.

The apartment was empty, the renovators had made a total mess  (additionally they had put fine tapestry on the walls, at least...) - we spent the holidays by cleaning the flat. For sure we took every now and then a break - either to eat some real German Spätzle and sip some wine we brought with us from Germany or to go out and see how our new home town looks like.

Immediately after Christmas the lorry parked in front of our door, and four men carried all our stuff in. We had finally moved back to Finland.

Eppu comes

As we moved to Finland and had own flat, nothing could hinder us for deciding to take a new member into our team: a dog!

After some research and one visit to a dog show, we also knew the breed we want: a Norwich terrier. We were told it is hard to get a Norwich terrier in Finland, there are queues of 1-1,5 years... Nevertheless we just could not change our minds regarding the breed, and the hunt for a puppy started.

Luckily we contacted one breeder in Turku (amongst other three in the surroundings), and in March 2006 we got the fabulous news: four puppies were born on 16 March 2006 - two girls and two boys - and one of them was reserved for us!!!

In the Easter 2006 we finally had the chance to meet all four puppies, and they all just stole our hearts!!!

The boy reserved for us had a little bend in his tail - we didn't mind! He was charming and we knew we will be happy to have him. We already knew the name for him at that time:

Eppu

On the 17 May 2006 Eppu - officially known as 'Porrigito Etappi' - came home. That day our lives changed completely - but it has been worth of it.
