To really get to know God is probably the simplest thing you could ever do and yet that very act will have the most profound effect on your life. I can tell you how to do this because I have already done it.  If you wish to meet with your Creator God and have him become involved in your life and to make you his child then just do the following:

1)      Go and sit by yourself in a quiet room.

2)       Wait a few moments and then invited him, silently or out loud, to take you into his presence and make you his very own.

There, that's it.  That's all there is to it.  Do that... mean it... and you immediately become a child of God and you will remain a child of God for so long as you desire it. "Love the Lord God with all your heart and soul and mind and love other people as you love yourself and you will never taste death."  That is the eternal promise of the Creator God.

When you have taken that first step there is then much more for you to learn, and whatever you wish to know is contained within the pages of the Christian Bible.  Seen through the eyes of faith the bible is a truly fascinating read.  The Old Testament  tells of early man's struggles as he slowly develops an awareness of, and a relationship with God.  The New Testament reveals how God, about 2,000 years ago came to earth in the form of the man Jesus who was then put to death in a most brutal and inhuman way on a cross so that he could pay the price for mankind's wrongdoing.  Three days after He died He was raised from the dead.  Then the Holy Spirit of God was sent into the world to be with, and to sustain those who believe, for all eternity.

You see, God became man that man might become God.

The sacrifice he made enabled a reconciliation to take place between God and man.  Without this reconciliation-sacrifice it would be impossible for anyone to enter the realm of God.  It isn't simply that wrongdoing is not permitted in the realm of God, it is that as there is no need for it, it is unknown.  Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice and took upon himself the whole of the burden of our wrongdoing so that as we cannot help but sin, we might be forgiven by God, and thereby be saved and not die in our sinful condition.

Then, you must find a Church which suits you... Why?

For all its imperfections the Christian Church is the Body of Christ here on earth.  The Christian faith is not a solitary faith and in order that we might sustain our faith and strengthen our souls for the journey of life we need to join with others on a regular basis as members of the Body of Christ to meet with God through the sustaining Grace of our Lord Jesus.  Saint Augustine taught:  "Extra ecclesiam non salus est. There is no salvation outside the church or, more freely translated, you can't do this on your own. ...
 

How do you continue to meet with, and listen to God?

Through prayer, of course. Prayer, by the way, is simply, quietly and humbly entering the presence of God and talking to Him.  It requires no fancy words or gestures.  Tell Him about your fears, whatever they might be, give Him your tears and sadness, let Him know of your needs, and let Him share your pain.  Tell Him you love Him and ask Him to strengthen you.  Those things are what He's there for.  All designed to help you on your journey of faith back to Him. To dial him up  all you have to do is to call on him - silently or otherwise - and he will be there for you.  His number is never engaged. 

Try it now and see the wonderful changes He will make to your life.
