The English Trumpeter

WATCA

National young bird show at Louisville,Kentucky

The National English Trumpeter Club did a fine job hosting this meet.

This is the club's biggest show of the year.  They had 177 English

Trumpeters and we were ranked number l2 I believe out of 5,840 birds.

The exhibitor list was quite impressive.  Look at the states represented.

Bill Davis - Massachusetts, Jim Rini - Florida - Robert Prichard,

Jim McKean - Indiana.  Rick Rutledge - Michigan, Jack Logan - Illinois,

Mike Gross - Missouri, Tim Stanek - Iowa, Bill Baker and

Rick & Richard Leimann - Ohio, John Heppner, Bob Nolan - California,
Zvonko Simonovic - Canada, Bobby Watson - Oklahoma,
Russell Gourley - Tenn., Jeff Adair and Mike Owen - Arkansas,
Steve Combs - Penn., I am sure I must have forgot some one.

Rick Rutledge of Michigan had a stand out red baldhead that won champion.
Rick Leimann had Reserve on a yellow and John Heppner had
Best Opposite Sex on an Almond bald.  Gerald Weibe, a Pageant
qualified judge handled the judging and did a fine job.
Congratulations to the winners.

Here is Rick Rutledge red baldhead that won champion. Rick is from Michigan.
So is the red baldhead.

Another shot of Ricks bird.

This yellow hen of Rick Leimann was the second best bird out of 177, winning Reserve Champion.  Unfortunately in this pose it is standing a bit tall.  Note the beautiful crest and full muffs.
