Jewish Roots

The ancient Jewish Wedding

The ancient Jewish Wedding

When studying the Scriptures it becomes evident that intimacy between Yahshua and His E’dah (Congregation), is no better illustrated than in the ancient Jewish wedding customs. These are shadow pictures of what is to come to past just as the Feast of the Lord. The LORD gave us these things so that we could and would understand His attributes. This is His propose for every Believer.

The marriage consists of two parts. First, the betrothal - Erusin or Kidushin. Then about one or two years later, the second part took place. This is the wedding ceremony called, Nisuin or Huppah.

1.        Aleph, meaning: Father, strong leader, Ox or Bull.

Our Bridegroom Yahshua is a strong leader,

The Bridegroom's Father chooses the Bride. He sends a friend or a trusted servant to come to terms with the parents of the prospective Bride, and makes all the arrangements. The Bride may not have any idea of what this person looks like or even know his age. All she knows is she will spend her whole life with him if she says yes to this marriage!

This representative can be seen as a portrait of the Fathers Holy Spirit in the Scriptures. It is He who nudges our hearts, and calls us to enter into this union with our Bridegroom Messiah.

YAHWEH seeks out a Bride for his son .

John 6:44 (KJV)  No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Matthew 22:9 (KJV)   Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage.

1 Peter 1:8 (KJV)  Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:

2.       Bet, meaning: Household, House or Tent.

We have a place in His household because

The price was secured for the Bride, and was usually something of great value. Lands, livestock, silver or gold. In the Believers instance the supreme price was paid, the precious Blood of Yahshua Messiah. Yahshua left His Home and the Glory of Heaven to come to earth to pay the ultimate price for a Bride.

1 Peter 1:18-19 (KJV)  Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; [19] But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

Philip. 2:5-7 (KJV)  Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: [6] Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: [7] But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

This was so He might return once again to prepare for us a place, a Home with Him in the Glory of Heaven.

The contract is offered “which is the word” The girl reads the contract.

Rev. 3:20 (KJV)  Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

3. - Gimel, meaning: To lift up, into, a camel.

He was lifted up, and in turn lifts us up with Him.

The boy brings wine  “first fruits” to the girls home that he would like to Marry.

YAHSHUA (Jesus) is the Word and through the shedding of his bloodwine”he offers everyone a New Covenant or contract.

John 1:14 (KJV)   And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Hebrews 13:20 (KJV)   Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

The Betrothal ritual is like an engagement party. The promise was made and it was binding. The man and wife do not live together or have sexual intercourse at this time.

If she accepts the contract and the Groom then she would take A cup of wine; lift it up and take a drink.By this the Bride would seal the Betrothal.

The cup is lifted in the right hand. The right hand is a place of power in the Jewish understanding.

Matthew 26:27-29    And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; [28] For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. [29] But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.

Yahshua, when lifting the cup at the Passover understood that in just a short time from that moment, He would also be lifted up on a CROSS. It would be for His Bride that He would suffer and do this! Over and over again we will see that He "alone cuts this Covenant," we have no part, other than to accept what He has done for us.

YAHSHUA (Jesus) offers us the Word of Eloheem (God) and salvation through the blood.

1 John 1:7 (KJV)   But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

4.   Dalet, meaning: Door, a pathway, entrance, enter.

He made a pathway by reason of the fact that He is the "Door" by which we can enter the Fathers House.

The written marriage contract is given to the Bride who is promised that she will be provided and cared for in every way. It states that all of her needs will be fulfilled by the Bridegroom. The Hebrew term for Bridegroom is "Hatan" meaning: "one who enters Covenant." This contract is always signed before two witnesses, then given to the Bride and her Father. The Holy Scriptures are our Wedding document. It tells us all that our Bridegroom has done for us and will do for us - and so much more!

Over and over Yahshua Messiah declares His love for us! He promised to provide for all our needs and our necessities, and so we should never be fearful. It is Messiah who will make our way straight.

It is Messiah who will accomplish His Word in our lives! He is the Door, our Pathway by which we can enter into the Fathers House.

John 10:9 (KJV) I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

His cover dresses us, just as He spoke about it in Matthew’s Gospel.

5    Hey, meaning: To reveal, window.

He reveals all things to us by His Holy Spirit!

The Bride had to be in agreement with this marriage, and so it is with us. By our free will do we enter into this contract. Even the Saints of old were looking ahead to this wonderful place and event.

If we except the Word of Eloheem (God) “The contract “or if we Count the cost Luke 14:28 to be a christain then we repent and take a drink of the blood of YAHSHUA (Jesus) ”salvation ”. John 6:56 (KJV)   He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.

Today to enter into this Covenant I must accept Messiah Yahshua, and confess Him with my mouth to be LORD of my life. When the Messiah is revealed to us it is by the Servant, the Holy Spirit. We must say "I do" in Hebrew it is the word ‘daat,’ or I could say, "I do not" which is not a good answer to give Him. However, making this decision is our choice.

Making this selection is really our first act of intimacy. Exclusively ours because, God has given to us free will to choose our Bridegroom. However, He knew from the beginning what our answer would be!

This act of choosing our Bridegroom reveals to our LORD how intimate we want Him to be with us, and this revealing works both ways. It is a form of worship, "yada" in Hebrew, and this same word is used for an intimate encounter in the Word of God.

6.     Vav, meaning: To secure, a peg or nail.

He secured a place at the Fathers table for us by the nails in His body, and His shed blood.

At this point the cup was drunk from. This cup is also called the shared cup of the Brit, i.e. Covenant. The two are now really married. The betrothed (sealed. tm'  emet”.)

emet

t = The word of Eloheem”God”

m = Has been tested

' = And is found to be Truth “emet”

Gifts are now given to the Bride and her family from the Bridegroom or His Servant, as in the case of Abraham sending his servant Eliezer. Eliezer came with 10 camels filled with gifts to secure a Bride for Isaac. Eliezer means: comforter, helper, and is a picture of the Holy Spirit of God.

Ephes. 4:8 (KJV) Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.

Every time we share in the cup of Communion we are re-affirming our marriage Covenant with our Bridegroom Yahshua. We should always remember what it was that Messiah Yahshua our Bridegroom achieved for us personally, with the Covenant of "Communion in His Blood." His wine is the best wine, and it is the juice from the cluster fist fruits not fermented wine!

"The time is coming," declares the LORD, "when I will cut a New Covenant (Brit) with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah. It will not be like the Covenant I made with their forefathers (those who died in Mt. Sinai) when I took thee by the hand to lead them out of Egypt, because they broke My Covenant, though I was a Husband to them, declares the LORD. This is the Covenant I will cut with the house of Israel after that time," declares the LORD. "I will put My Torah in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be My people. (This is the Promise from Deut 30:6) No longer will a man instruct his neighbor,or a mankind his brother or sister, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the LORD. For I will forgive their iniquity and will recall their sins no more."   AGI

Yahshua Messiah also gave us many gifts. The blessed Holy Spirit with all of His gifts. Prophecy, Miracles,Healings,Decenment,Tongues,Messiah’s Peace, His Joy, His Knowledge, Eternal Life, His Righteousness which is our Cover, and many more the bestbeing His Love Everlasting.

The shared cup of Communion secured by the nails of the Covenant of the Cross makes us partakers with Him in everything, and it's all His doing!!!

Blessing of the Cup:

Baruch atah Adonai, Eloheynu Melech Ha-Olam

Borey P’ree Hagafen.

Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the Universe,

Who creates the fruit of the vine. Amen.

7.   Zayin, meaning: To cut off, cut, a weapon.

The enemy of our soul is cut off by His weapon of Love.

In Hebrew the word for the Jewish Bride is the word "Kallah," meaning: "complete," and some teach it means: "enclosed one." This brings to my mind a Scripture from Song Of Songs:

Song 4:12 (KJV)  A garden inclosed is my sister, my spouse; a spring shut up, a fountain sealed.

The Bride went through a ritual immersion, i.e. washing, to symbolize her turning aside from all the former things and starting a new life with her Beloved. We are given water baptism which is symbolic of the purification of our old ways and to make us ready for our LORD Heavenly home. When the Hebrews came out from Egypt and prepared to enter into the Covenant with Eloheem, the whole Congregation had to be cleansed with water. She was to be set apart, enclosed before they could come close to the LORD God. We must also do the same? And sometimes for some of us, more then once. They had to do it before meeting God, we now do it after we receive His Son! Romans 6:3-6 (KJV)   Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? [4] Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. [5] For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: [6] Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

Mikvah: ritual immersion, i.e. baptism is a weapon of separation.

When we obey the LORD and follow His example of immersion, we are embarking on our new life by departing and saying, farewell to the old ways. This is a cutting off or a putting off of the old, and this pleases both the Father, and the Bridegroom. Really it is a signpost for ourselves to remind us we are dead to trespasses, and alive unto God.

Again the choosing is ours to obey or not to obey Him.

8.  Chet, meaning: Separate, a chamber, private.

We are separated from the world surrounding us

At this point the Bridegroom would depart and go back to his Fathers house to prepare a place for the wedding and his new Bride. At this time a pledge is made by the Bridegroom affirming to his Bride that he will indeed return for her. Yahshua did the same! We read Yahshua’s pledge in St. John’s Gospel:

John 14:1-4  Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in Eloheem (God), believe also in me. 2In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. 4And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.

These words above are the same words spoken in the ancient Jewish Wedding rite. Yahshua speaks to His followers as a Bridegroom, affirming to them that He would come to take them to Himself.

This is when Messiah will come to sequester us in a chamber made ready for His Bride. A time of separation and intimacy, privacy with our LORD. This will be for 7 years. One to match each day that the Bride and Bridegroom spends in the wedding chamber, alone and separated from the rest of the world.

Isaiah 26:20-21  (KJV)  Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.

[21] For, behold, the Lord cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more  cover her slain.

The bride cannot feed herself only the Bridegroom can feed her .Yahshua will feed us all  the Knowledge wisdom and understanding that we will need.

9.   Tet, meaning: to surround, a snake, to twist.

Kept from the serpents twisted ways because we are sealed “emet” with the Holy Spirit.

Now the time of waiting comes! The Bride would prepare herself making all the preparations to be the best Bride she could be. She waits with baited breath for the Bridegroom to come. While the boy is gone the bride has to get oil and keep her lamp burning; because if the boy comes to get his bride and her lamp isn’t burning he will leave her.

While Yahshua (Jesus) tarries we have to be ready at all times not slumbering or asleep prayed up ready and worthy to go because if we are not ready he will leave us and go to the next person. Proverbs 13:9 (KJV)   The light of the righteous rejoiceth: but the lamp of the wicked shall be put out.

I know how anxious she is! She doesn’t know the exact time when her Beloved will come for her, this time is "only" known by the Bridegroom's Father. When the Father sees that all of His Son's preparations for the wedding chambers (chadar) is ready, then He will allow His Son to transport His Bride to His home. “see the 10 virgins”

Matthew 25:1-5 (KJV)  Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. [2] And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. [3] They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: [4] But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. [5] While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.

10.   Yod, meaning: a deed, to make, hand.

In His right hand is the deed to make an end of the evil one, and his ways.

Then the the best man wll be sent just in front of the Bridgroom. The best man will be saying the bridegroom cometh  the bride groom cometh go ye out to meet him

YAHSHUA (Jesus) sends out the five-fold ministry saying YAHSHUA (Jesus) is comming, YAHSHUA (Jesus) is coming prepare to meet Yahweh “ the Lord “ Matthew 25:6 (KJV)   And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.

When the Bridegroom comes to get His Bride it is more of a willing kidnapping. It could be called a snatching in the middle of the night.First their would be a shout then there was a blast of the shofar sounding out, The Bridegroom friends would sneak up on the Bride suddenly. she must be ready to go to her Beloved, to flee with him with no hesitation or procrastination. The friends are symbolic of the Angels that will gather us to the Messiah. I can’t wait till I hear the shout of an Ark-Angel and the sound of  Yahshua’s  Voice which is as a Trumpet ?

Then the boy comes to get his bride by the sounding of the showphar,”trumpet” if she has her lamp burning he receives her if not he leaves her.

1 Cor. 15:52 (KJV)  In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. Then Eloheem “God” himself will blow the Showphar [Zech. 9:14 (KJV)  And Yahweh “the Lord” shall be seen over them, and his arrow shall go forth as the lightning: and Yahweh “the Lord” Eloheem “God” shall blow the trumpet, and shall go with whirlwinds of the south. ]  Which will be his voice ,

[Rev. 1:10 (KJV)   I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet]  and those that have made themselves ready will hear his voice and he will say come up hither.,

Rev. 4:1 (KJV)   After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.

 “see the 10 virgins”

Matthew 25:6 (KJV)  And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.

YAHSHUA (Jesus) will come as a theif in the night to get his bride ”. Rev. 16:15 (KJV)   Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.

If we are ready he will receive us if not he will leave us and go on to the next. His angels will snatch us up and carry us away to be with YahWeh  “the Lord.

Mark 13:27 (KJV)   And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.

Luke 16:22 (KJV)   And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;

11.  Kaf, meaning: to cover, to allow, open hand, arm.

His cover spreads to all who will reach out for His open hand of Love.

The Bridegroom with His strong open hand takes His Bride away to the place that he has prepared, and the marriage is now consummated. The Tallit (the Jewish prayer Shawl) serves many times today as the Huppah. Made of silk or fine wool it is raised over the couple. It can also be held up by poles or trees that may have been planted at the birth of the Bride or Bridegroom. The Brdegroom is to give his Bride a spotless white Bridel robe. Messiah has given use all of our garments as well! We are to keep them spotless.

Blessings are said over the couple, this is call the Birkot Nisuin, the 7 blessings. The second cup of wine is now drunk, and this sets the second seal “emet” to the marriage Covenant. We are waiting to drink this cup with our Bridegroom Yahshua.

Matthew 26:29 (KJV) But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.

Now the new couple will spend 7 days together in the wedding room, the "Huppah." This starts the honeymoon cycle, this is were the Bridegroom will cover her with Himself. This part takes place in the Huppah. This is also called the "Nisuin" or the "hometaking." Jewish Bridegrooms do this part today at the wedding by placing their Tallit over their Brides so all can witness it.

The new couple will now become one flesh - Echad. This is also called "Kidushin" meaning: sanctification or ratification. They will get to know each other like never before, this more than a face to face encounter. This also has a ancient name, "Yihud" or the "Knowing." The act of sexual intimacy takes place between the Bride and the Bridegroom. The bed sheets with her blood on it were given to the Brides family. This was so they could never say she was not pure before the wedding day. It was in a sense, her insurance policy. I believe it will be Messiah’s bloody garments that will be our insurance policy. We are called to be chaste virgins and we must be pure without spot wrinkle blemish or any such thing washed by the blood.

Kittel – The Wedding Garment: The Kittel is a white robe, it looks somewhat like a bathrobe.  It is a garment worn at Passover.  It is also warn by the Groom at a wedding. The word Kittel is rooted in the Hebrew word Katal - To Slay.  A garment worn by priests during certain sacrifices such as Passover or Yom Kippur Sacrifice.

2 Cor. 11:2 (KJV)  For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.

1Cor. 13:12 (KJV)  For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

After the boy receives his bride that has her lamp burning. He then places a crown of Jerusalem on her head and a ring on her finger. This crown has the walls of Jerusalem on it.

Then Yahshua (Jesus) will receive us and put a ring on our finger and a crown on our head. This crown will make us part of the bride the New Jerusalem. Luke 15:22 (KJV)   But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet: 1 Peter 5:4 (KJV)   And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away Rev. 3:12 (KJV)   Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.

The Bridegroom feeds the Bride, she cannot feed herself. Yahshua will feed us all the knowledge , wisdom and understanding that we need for eternity.

[ Rev. 2:17 (KJV)   He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.]  Until the “indignation” is over  or until the nation of Israel quits sinning (Dan.9:24-27 )and the whole nation is born again which is the instant just before Armageddon (Zech.3:9-10.)

Isaiah 26:20 (KJV)  Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.

12   Lamed, meaning: prod, toward, staff.

He will rule for 1000 years with the staff of God, and it will be very very good.

And now it is time for the wedding feast to begin! Our Wedding Feast will be in the place that Yahshua has prepared.

Rev. 19:7-9 (KJV)  Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. [8] And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. [9] And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.

Right after the 7 days of the Huppah, the couple come out of the room and join their guests. These guests have a special name, they are called the B’nai Huppah, "children of the Bridal Chamber." They will join the Bride and Bridegroom to a very festive marriage feast. This is the meal that the couple share with their guest after the 7 days of being alone is over. This meal is called Seudat Mitzyah, a festive meal! Also at the end of the 7 days Yahshua will be crowned King, and we shall be his Bride. We will rule and reign with our Beloved forever.

Then after seven days the boy brings the girl out of the room and sets her at a great feast and introduces her to his father.

Then after YAHSHUA (Jesus) has fed us from the tree of Life for seven years all the wisdom and knowledge that we need at that time he will bring us to the marriage supper of the Lamb and introduces us to Eloheem (God) the Father.  1 Thes.3:13 ; Rev.19:9

Rev. 2:7 (KJV)   He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God. Rev. 2:17 (KJV)   He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.

Rev. 19:9 (KJV)  And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.

Rev. 3:5 (KJV)   He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

Messiah has now been given a Staff, i.e. "The Rod of God" to rule with. The one thousand year begins, this is the Millennial reign of Messiah on earth. This is the time of peace we read about in the book Isaiah. This is when the Bridegroom will rejoice over His Bride.

Isaiah 62:5 (KJV)   For as a young man marrieth a virgin, so shall thy sons marry thee: and as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, so shall thy God rejoice over thee.

[ At the last trumpet of the feast of trumpets or Rosh Hashanah the Golden trumpet. “see Rosh Hashanah”]1 Thes. 4:16-17 (KJV)  For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: [ Yahshua “Jesus” shall decend from Heaven with a shout of an Archangel and Eloheem “God” shall blow the trumpet Zech. 9:14 ] 17Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. [ We that are alive will be caught up to Heaven the 1st.or 2nd. Heaven to meet him in the air]

1 Thes. 5:1-11 (KJV)  But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. [Greek -kairos,  kahee-ros'; of uncertain affinity; an occasion kairos, Greek 2540, Strong's From the Hebrew word  mo-ade'; or mo`ed, mo-ade'; or (feminine) mow`adah, mo-aw-daw'; (2 Chron. 8:13), from Hebrew 3259 (ya`ad); properly an appointment, i.e. a fixed time or season; specifically a festival; conventionally a year; by implication, an assembly (as convened for a definite purpose); technically the congregation; by extension, the place of meeting; also a signal (as appointed beforehand) :- appointed (sign, time), (place of, solemn) assembly, congregation, (set, solemn) feast, (appointed, due) season, solemn (-ity), synagogue, (set) time (appointed)., i.e. set or proper time :- × always, opportunity, (convenient, due) season, (due, short, while) time, a while.  Compare Greek 5550 (chronos). In other words the solme Feast of Yahweh “the Lord”]We are not to be ignorant of the Seasons of Yahweh “the Lord” Paul and the Jews at that time understood the Feast of Yahweh “the Lord” and he didn’t have to teach them about the Feast. They understood that the Feast were shadow pictures of the coming of Yahweh “the Lord” and they understood the signs according to the Feast. [2] For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. The day of the Lord is the 2nd. Coming of the Messiah to the Earth at Armageddon to set up his Kingdom not the resurrection of the body of Messiah. The Day of the Lord  “Yahweh” will come upon the slothful and the ones that have fallen asleep.  Psalm 81:3 (KJV) Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day.

( This will be during the Feast of Trumpets Tishri 1-10 )James 5:7 (KJV)  Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain. (early rain was completed during Passover at this time the many Old Testament saints they came out of their graves and  where resurrected when Jesus led Captivity captive. They where the First fruits wave offering to God the Father to complete the Passover Feast./  Latter rain completed during the Feast Of Trumpets Yowm Kippur The Day of Atonement ) 1 Thes. 5:[3] For when they shall say, Peace and safety; For when the Peace treaty is signed  or the 7 yr. Covenant is signed Dan 9:27.  then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. The Woman here is the Nation of Israel the Woman of Rev. 12. She will be about to give birth to the Man child the 144,000 Jews.  [4] But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. [5] Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. [6] Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. Stay humble and Don’t become slothfull  .[7] For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. [8] But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. Stay humble before Yahweh “the Lord”and sanctify yourself by putting on the fruits of Yahweh “the Lord” and put on the full armour of  Eloheem  “God”

1 Thes.5:9  For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, For Eloheem “God” hasn’t appointed us to the wrath of Eloheem “God” during the tribulation that will be poured out upon the wicked and the slothfull unjust stewards. [10] Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him. Yahshua “Jesus” died for us so that we can have Life weither we die and go by the way of the grave  or are alive at his coming.   [11] Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do. Comfort yourselves  one of another because you don’t have to go thru the wrath of Eloheem “God” but can be resurrected into the resurrection of Life.

We must understand that the Jew at that time understood the Feast and the Christian Jew understood them with even a greater measure. The word of Eloheem “God” tells us in

Romans 3:1-2 (KJV)  What advantage then hath the Jew? or what profit is there of circumcision? [2] Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God.  What are the oricals of Eloheem “God” ? (The Torah) Without the understanding of the Old Testament we cannot understand the New Testament in its fullness. If we can receive the understanding of the Old Testament and the Feast of Yahweh then we will have a better understanding of the New. The advantage of the Jew is that they have the Torah and the books of the prophets and they are still in tact and haven’t been changed into man made doctrines and opinions. If we study the Torah and mainly the Feast of Yahweh “the Lord” then we will see how everything will come to its beginning  and or end.

Hebrews 5:12 (KJV)   For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.

Many Jews had to be taught the Torah and the Prophets because they had become slothfull during their life and didn’t understand Eloheems commandments and his Feast.

These Jews ought to be able to teach others or Gentiles the Torah but had little knowledge of these Oricals and they themselves had to be taught.

In outline form, the Jews start the celebration of the fall feasts 30 days prior to Feast of Trumpets/Rosh Hashanah which falls on the 1st day of the 7th month. For 30 days the shofar is blown every morning in the Synagogue to remind the people that the holy days are approaching, in order that they may prepare themselves. Elul 1 to Tishri 10 ARE the 40 days of  Tishuva Which means  return back to God  Exodus 24:18 (KJV)      And Moses went into the midst of the cloud, and gat him up into the mount: and Moses was in the mount forty days and forty nights. The second time Moses went to receive the Word of God and was gone for 40 days was during The 40 days of Tishuva and during this time the Jews repented to the Lord. This is time during the year that the Jews begin Their preparation which consists of confessing their sins and seeking forgiveness along with a change in life if needed. The Jews earnest prayer is that their name may be written in the Book of Life. All of those whose names are in the Lamb's Book of Life have open and shut cases and are righteous, not by their own deeds, but by the blood of the Lamb. Thus the fulfillment of Rosh Hashanah is the rapture/resurrection of believers, all whose names are written in the Book of Life. The court process of  Yowm Kippur the Day of Atonement is shown in 1 Corinthians 3:11-15, where the works of a believer's life will be tested by fire for the determination of rewards at the Judgment Seat of Christ.
Ephes. 1:9-10 (KJV)  Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: 10That in the dispensation of the fulness of times ? The time of the End?  he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, ?The Old Testament Saints? and which are on earth; ? The New Testament saints?   even in him:           Rosh Hashanah ? The Feast of Trumpets - the Fall Feast of YahwehHebrews 8:5 (KJV)   Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, [ Eloheem ?God? has a sahadow picture of everything in Heaven here on the earth.] as Moses was admonished      ? khray-mat-id'-zo;  to utter an oracle ?     of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.  Hebrews 10:1 (KJV)   For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. We must understand the Law ?Tora? so we can see the shadow pictures of What God is trying to Tell and Show us.  Col. 2:16-17 (KJV)   Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holy day, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: 17Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.  All these are a shadow picture of things to come the Spring Feast of  Yahweh ?the Lord? has already been literally fulfilled   ?see the fulfillment of the passover feast? and the Fall Feast of Yahweh ?the Lord? will also be literally fulfilled as well.             ?see also the prophetic wonders?

1 Peter 4:11 (KJV)   If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

If we know and understand the Oricals of Eloheem  “God” Then we can speak and teach with a greater ability which Eloheem “God”  has given and Yahshua “Jesus” can be more glorified. One of the biggest mistakes of the body of Messiah is that we haven’t been taught the Feast of Yahweh “the Lord” for many reasons. 1st. Lack of knowledge because of lack of study. 2nd. Because most of the body  has a belief that this will bring us into bondadge which is Ignorant. 3rd. The comman christain don’t have the knowledge or resourceses to get an understanding until here in just the past few years. A proper understanding of the fall feast days of Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, and Succoth, provide clarity to God's plan for the prophetic fulfillment we call the end-times. They reveal much more detail than has been thought possible. Israel was commanded by God, to keep the annual feast days forever as a witness to all the nations.

Even in the diaspora, faithful Jews celebrated the feast days as God our Father mercifully enabled them to survive as a distinct people in the midst of worldwide dispersion.

They have been faithful in providing a witness to the world through the annual celebration of the feast days which are on calendars everywhere. This is why the Oricals of Eloheem “God’ have been committed to the Jew and not the Gentile.

The Jewish understanding of these feast days, rather than Christianized understanding, is the key to a full revelation. It starts with the blowing of the shofar every morning in synagogues around the world, starting with the 1st day of the 6th month up until the day prior to Rosh Hashanah. Why blow the shofar every day during the 6th month? The Jews blow the shofar to announce the imminent arrival of judgment on Rosh Hashanah. Announcing to all the world that judgment is imminent, the people are to prepare themselves to meet God, the King of the Universe, the Judge of all Creation, and to be prepared they must excise all sin from their lives and repent of their sins. Christians are entirely ignorant of the fall feasts of ancient Israel, Trumpets (Rosh Hashanah), Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur), and Booths (Sukkot). Ignorant in that they do not know the way in which these feast days are celebrated, which reveals specific information on the way in which they will be prophetically fulfilled. In fact, you cannot get this information from Bible study alone, since the details are not specified there, but are in the Gemara or Talmud.
In outline form, the Jews start the celebration of the fall feasts 30 days prior to Rosh Hashanah which falls on the 1st day of the 7th month. For 30 days the shofar is blown every morning in the Synagogue to remind the people that the holy days are approaching, in order that they may prepare themselves. Their preparation consists of confessing their sins and seeking forgiveness along with a change in life if needed. The Jews earnest prayer is that their name may be written in the Book of Life. They too believe as Christians do, that Angels record all the actions and words of the people on the earth in a set of books, while another book is kept by God called the Book of Life, in which are the names of those who have eternal life with God. So, the 30 days preparation before Rosh Hashanah is to become a righteous person and have their names written in the Book of Life.
The Christian believes the same thing as the Jew, except may not know as much detail on why Rosh Hashanah exists in God's prophetic plan. Rosh Hashanah will be fulfilled when the Messiah comes on the clouds, the dead in Christ rise to meet the Lord in the air, then those who are alive are changed in an instant in the blinking of an eye to an eternal, immortal body. The court process of  Yowm Kippur the Day of Atonement is shown in
1 Corinthians 3:11-15, where the works of a believer's life will be tested by fire for the determination of rewards at the Judgment Seat of Christ.
On Rosh Hashanah, a series of 100 trumpet blasts are sounded for a specific reason.

They announce the setting up of the eternal court, with the trumpets heralding God as the all-seeing, all-knowing Judge of the Universe on the Day of Atonement “Yowm Kippur the 10th day of Rosh Hashanah. Inherent in the court proceedings, is the knowledge that this court date is only for open and shut cases, for those who are righteous and have their names in the Book of Life. All other people are a mixture of good and bad, and God in His mercy will delay their court date for a period of time; during the tribulation of  7 years, to allow them to try and prepare a proper defense or repent. The second court date is on Yom Kippur 7 years latter which will be a year of Jubilee. The whole nation of Israel    The Elect that has endured and made it till the end will be born again in one day at Armageddon when Yahshua comes to set up his Kingdom here on the earth.
Prophetically, Yom Kippur is the long-awaited judgment, where Messiah will take the stick of Judah and the stick of Israel in His hand, He will forgive their sins, and He will make them one nation again forever. On Yom Kippur, the High Priest intercedes for the people before God in order that their sins might be forgiven. We know that Jesus our Messiah is the High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek; and He will intercede for all the people left on earth after the terrible time of the Day of the Lord.

This will also be the Fulfillment of Lev.25:9  which this Yawn Kippur will be the Jubilee long awaited for by the Jews. After Messiah judges Israel, He will judge all the rest of the people of the earth. Yom Kippur is that blessed time that Jews have looked forward to, when Messiah will rule and reign in Jerusalem. From the 10th to the 14th of Tishri, Messiah will judge Israel and all the nations. Then on the 15th, Succoth starts, where Messiah will spread the Tabernacle of Peace over the earth and celebrate for 7 days with the people of the earth. This will usher in an annual celebration of Succoth where all nations must be represented for humbling themselves before Messiah in Booths (Sukkahs). Those nations who will not celebrate Succoth will receive no rain during the next year.

Through the Oricals of Eloheem “God” We can know the mysteries of Eloheem and the fullness of times.

Ephes. 1:9-10 (KJV)  Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: 10That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him: [ During the dispensation of the fullness of times the Messiah “Christ” will gather together both they which are in Heaven the Old Testament saints out of Abrahams boosom along with the New Testament saints that have went by the grave. Then those that remain on the Earth those that have made themselves entirely derserving. ]

Rosh Hashanah – The Feast of Trumpets - the Fall Feast of Yahweh

Hebrews 8:5 (KJV)   Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, [ Eloheem “God” has a sahadow picture of everything in Heaven here on the earth.] as Moses was admonished       khray-mat-id'-zo;  to utter an oracle     of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.  Hebrews 10:1 (KJV)   For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.
