‹Raven Starr› nice vid
‹Anastasia › TKS Raven
‹Anastasia › The music was hard to place correctly
‹Dee› ahh i get that
‹Anastasia › I wanted the murder and romance to have differnt themes
‹Dee› I have made a few and found the music can make or brk a video
‹Anastasia › the timing needs to be precise when there are differnet pieces of music
‹Dee› How long did it take you to make it
‹Anastasia › it was an on and off process that took a couple of weeks
‹BrandyWine› can we ask questions as usual
‹Dee› not bad

‹Dee› yes BW as usual the guest keep us going so feel free to chat away
‹BrandyWine› cool
‹BrandyWine› Who made the cover for your book and what is it about
‹Anastasia › Ang at Aphrodites Apples made it at my suggestion
‹Dee› lol that was my next Q
‹Anastasia › Its Cozumel
‹Raven Starr› love CoZUMEL
‹Anastasia › off the coast of Mexico
‹Anastasia › near Cancun
‹Anastasia › so do I Raven
‹BrandyWine› cool have you been there?
‹Anastasia › the whole series is set there
‹BrandyWine› lol guess so
‹Anastasia › been there each year for about 8 years
‹Dee› Can you tell us briefly what A Corpse For Cozumel is about?
‹BrandyWine› nice
‹Raven Starr› the water was soo blue
‹Anastasia › Sultry days and steamy nights—Cozumel. It was a simple enough plan but when murder and men get tossed into the mix, Adie Sturm’s life gets scrambled. Her friend is suspect "numero uno" but Adie knows different. When she starts digging, she finds that the dots connect straight to millionaire Diego Alvarez.
‹Anastasia › Adie becomes a sniper’s target and just as she thinks her troubles are over, she’s forced to use karate to survive. For a woman that’s been burned before, enlisting an ex-boyfriend’s help isn’t the smartest move.
‹Anastasia › Adie’s emotions somersault with Wolf, a man like chocolate…creamy-ri ch and sinfully delicious. She doesn’t mind having his expertise in or out of the bedroom but she follows her own drummer when it comes to the drop-dead sexy Alvarez.
‹Anastasia › Her gut instinct tells her Alvarez is innocent of murder. What she’s not prepared for is his web of seduction. Adie is swept away into a dangerous cycle of events that spiral out of control before she chooses the man that captures her heart and finds the murderer.
‹Dee› sounds very interesting
‹BrandyWine› i missed the chance to review it but it sounds great
‹Anastasia › I love murder mixed with romance
‹Raven Starr› sounds very interesting
‹Anastasia › i tried to put the feel of Coz in it
‹Dee› How did you come up with the heroine Adie Strum and what drew you to her?
‹Dee› lol raven u owe me a drink
‹Dee› lol
‹Anastasia › Adie Sturm is a strong heroine, a Samantha Jones-type with karate skills, who follows her instincts when it comes to men and murder. When I started writing A Corpse for Cozumel Adie Sturm could have been my twin. She loves sex and chocolates. In fact, she's a chocoholic.
‹Dee› lol
‹BrandyWine› ooh my two favorites
‹Anastasia › I need it to write sex
‹Raven Starr› lol
‹Lis› good q Dee
‹BrandyWine› dessert and DESSERTTTTTTTT
‹Dee› ty
‹Anastasia › yessss!!!!
‹BrandyWine› lol
‹Anastasia › of course in my books chocolate is foreplay or part of the action
‹BrandyWine› nice action
‹Dee› What about Wolf Du Lac where did you get him from?
‹Anastasia › the action gets more wicked in every book
‹BrandyWine› lol the name WOLF my favorite lost love (GRINNING_
‹Anastasia › Wolf was my teen crush but he's morphed into my adult lover
‹Anastasia › I like Wolf too.,..evil, wicked but sexy
‹Dee› so each book is more than the last one then?
‹Dee› lol
‹Anastasia › for sure
‹Dee› what about Want to tell us some about Diego Alvarez? Who is he?
‹Anastasia › drop dead sexy multi millionaire with a devious streak
‹BrandyWine› what about want ? good one Dee
‹Dee› oh behave. sexy and rich hmmm
‹Lis› love his name :)
‹Dee› sounds like a good combo
‹Anastasia › Wolf is not as rich as Diego..he owns the island
‹Anastasia › Wolf is animal
‹Anastasia › Diego is smooth
‹Dee› so they are two seperate halves of a dark hero then?
‹Anastasia › they're both grey...some good and some wickedly good
‹BrandyWine› lol
‹BrandyWine› hahaha
‹BrandyWine› I want to hear about the wickedly good
‹Anastasia › near the end...Adie give Wolf his XMas Present...her
‹Dee› awww
‹Anastasia › of course he's always trying to give her something too
‹Dee› you mentioned this takes place in cozumel why there?
‹Anastasia › Coz is a place dreams are made reality
‹Dee› nice answer
‹Anastasia › fantasies come true
‹Dee› So Where can we buy A Corpse For Cozumel?
‹Anastasia › http:/www.aphrodite sapples.com
‹Dee› ignore the space in e and s
‹Anastasia › http://www.aphrodit esapples.com
‹Dee› What other books have you written, do you want to tell some about them?
‹Anastasia › Yes. the second book is Days of the Dead..a January release
‹Raven Starr› well folks sleep is callin
‹Lis› thanks for coming Raven
‹Anastasia › Rowdy drunks, pick-up lines and buckets of beer—all to be expected for a pre-trip get-together at Oktoberfest. What Adie Sturm doesn’t expect is murder-- Death makes an early appearance for her Days of the Dead Tour. The murderer is going with her to Cozumel and Adie needs to stop him from killing again.
‹Raven Starr› Nice meeting all of you. Good luck and Happy Sales
‹Dee› night raven and ty
‹Anastasia › When Adie helps her boss locate a stolen antiquity, things get complicated. Sexy multi-millionaire Diego Alvarez eagerly provides Adie with what she needs—a private jet into the interior, a condo, and of course, himself.
‹Lis› sounds good
‹Raven Starr› G'Night
‹Anastasia › But when she meets up with her former lover, Wolf, a man more delicious than chocolate, Adie has to question her instincts. Wolf is convinced Diego is playing her but she ignores him to search for the fashion saboteur threatening Diego’s sister.
‹Anastasia › Enemies creep out of the woodwork as Wolf joins Adie’s tour. With two sizzling hotties waiting to fulfill her fantasies, Adie wants nothing more than to hand the murderer over to the police and bask in the arms of her lover but will the murderer find her first?
‹Anastasia › Good nite Raven
‹Lis› what made you want to write connected stories?
‹Anastasia › Adie takes a long time to make up her mind
‹BrandyWine› ooh good Q Lisa
‹Anastasia › Love had done her wrong
‹Dee› cool so part two is just that another peak into the world of Adie?
‹Anastasia › I have ideas for 2 more books if not 3
‹Lis› oh cool
‹Anastasia › Yes
‹Dee› very nice
‹Dee› So is A Corpse For Cozumel your first book?
‹Anastasia › Yes
‹Anastasia › They're all full length novels
‹Dee› well its a very nice beginning
‹Anastasia › I'm getting sales
‹Anastasia › I think the setting is a good escape
‹Dee› Are you happy with it?
‹Lis› which came to you first, character or plot?
‹Anastasia › I love writing the series
‹Anastasia › character was easy...plot took time
‹Dee› well that is allt hat matters and good q lis i forgot that one
‹Dee› Now lets get to know you a little more… What would you say is the best part of writing?
‹Anastasia › Cozumel has the advantage of Mayan culture, the discovery of chocolate and warm sunny beaches
‹Lis› :)
‹Anastasia › fantasizing
‹Anastasia › the romance is reality with changes
‹Dee› very true
‹Dee› Do you consider yourself a Chocolate Expert?
‹Anastasia › I like to try the romance before I write it
‹BrandyWine› lol try?
‹Anastasia › I love milk chocolate the most but in a crunch will eat others
‹Anastasia › the scenarios are thoroughly researched
‹BrandyWine› lol what do you try?
‹BrandyWine› lol nevermind being bad
‹Anastasia › wine, chocolate, champagne, cake, beach, water and mix it with sex
‹BrandyWine› hey i like your idea of research
‹Anastasia › you're great BW
‹Dee› Now what is the worst part of writing for you?
‹BrandyWine› TY Bowing
‹Anastasia › nothing I can think of
‹BrandyWine› lol i am flat out bad when i can
‹Anastasia › editing
‹Lis› :)
‹Dee› lol
‹Dee› yeah a writers worst nightmare
‹Anastasia › bad is good
‹Dee› Do you have a special place or time you write?
‹BrandyWine› see Dee the authors love me
‹Anastasia › bits through the day but I'm a nite person
‹Dee› yeah aint you lucky....
‹BrandyWine› do the "JUICES" flow more at night then?
‹Anastasia › i like to be alone to write
‹Anastasia › i have a sleep disorder
‹Dee› I get that I use headphones to block out the world
‹Anastasia › can't get to sleep
‹Dee› ouch
‹BrandyWine› lol maybe you need wolf and diego to keep you company
‹Anastasia › i play music to escape into my little world
‹Dee› cool
‹Dee› What is your day like?
‹Anastasia › yes they give me so much action I get tired
‹BrandyWine› LOL hmm my kind of Guuys
‹BrandyWine› guys
‹Anastasia › i go to karate, write, do the usual mundane things
‹Lis› :)
‹Anastasia › haven't painted lately
‹Anastasia › too busy writing or editing
‹Dee› wow multi talented
‹BrandyWine› what do you paint?
‹Anastasia › i hve a demanding daughter
‹Lis› what do you do when you get writers block? or do you get writers block??
‹Dee› love those kiddies
‹Anastasia › no blocks for me
‹Anastasia › I sometimes go back and edit
‹Anastasia › when i'm a little stuck
‹Anastasia › fix dialogue
‹Dee› so you litterally dont stop then?
‹Anastasia › no I think about the book when I wake up
‹Anastasia › i live romance mystery
‹Anastasia › I have a detective friend that fills me in on murder
‹Dee› wow
‹Anastasia › of course i set the scenario
‹Dee› you really do have the research down pat
‹Anastasia › he tells me how much blood
‹Lis› oh cool
‹Anastasia › i went to a shoot range
‹Lis› what do you like best about writing the mystery/romance combo?
‹Anastasia › with my bro
‹Anastasia › it keeps me from being bored of one
‹Anastasia › together they challenge me
‹Anastasia › i like to mingle the plots
‹Anastasia › Like my heroine, I am an advanced belt in karate and believe women become empowered with the knowledge of self-defense.
‹Lis› cool
‹Dee› very nice
‹Anastasia › I'm writing Murder in Maya...
‹Dee› very nice
‹Anastasia › the same hotties and more murder
‹Dee› lol does these three become a trio?
‹Anastasia › with the exception of one more evil hottie
‹Lis› ooh interesting
‹Anastasia › no they don't like to share
‹Dee› hahaha
‹Anastasia › they're in competiion for Adie
‹Anastasia › she on the otherhand
‹Anastasia › wouldn't mind both
‹Anastasia › plus in Days of the Dead there is a female who is very fond of Adie
‹Dee› ok so ... we are getting near the end of our chat Is there any advice do you have for the Authors with us tonight?
‹Lis› interesting twist
‹Anastasia › follow your dream and write what you want

And here I thought I was early. I'm not late, am I??? ‹James Fargo› just read the first two Kitty books this past week ‹Thomas› Hi Carrie ‹Cimorene› no ‹Cimorene› we were all just so excited ‹James Fargo› Hello carrie ‹Carrie V. *waves back* ‹skarrah› crazy stlaker fans are us. ‹Cimorene› heheheh ‹Thomas› Not at all. Just a lot of excited people getting here early ‹Carrie V. heehee ‹Dee› Yes the crowd wanted good seats ‹Cimorene› I think I might still slobber on the guest ‹Dee› lol ‹daniel› we did not wanna miss it if there was a limit on the number ‹Cimorene› mind if I nibble? lol ‹Dee› no there isn't ‹daniel› ‹Carrie V. slobber, hmm...I begin to see the benefits of virtual chats ‹Cimorene› lolol ‹James Fargo› Carrie is being fondled by her Pack ‹Cimorene› sorry ‹Lisa› lol ‹Cimorene› this is the psycho Cimi from AK who reviewed your first three books with ER ‹Carrie V. Hi! Thanks for reviewing the books and getting the word out. Believe it or not, I'm still in the "wow, people are acutally reading my stuff" phase. ‹Cimorene› authors still do that after the second book??? ‹pwdawn› hi carrie :) ‹skarrah› Really? Even after 3 books?? ‹Cimorene› I knew I liked you ‹daniel› that is a great phase I bet, I can only imagine the smile it gives you ‹Carrie V. Some do. I've talked to some who are jaded. But a lot of us really are starry eyed all the time. ‹skarrah› cool. :) ‹Cimorene› gimme names. I wanna read THOSE authors ‹Cimorene› :D ‹Carrie V. Barb and JC Hendee ‹Thomas› Nice... means you don't lose touch with your fans. ‹Cimorene› scribbles** ‹Carrie V. They have a series of vampire fantasy novels. They're also friends of mine. :) ‹James Fargo› are you a full time writer then or do have a "regular" job on the side? ‹Cimorene› ooooh ‹Carrie V. I'm full time as of this year. ‹daniel› congrats ! ‹Cimorene› what job did you quit ‹Dee› Cool ‹Carrie V. thanks! ‹pwdawn› wow congrats carrie ‹Thomas› Cool. Congratulations. ‹Dee› more books blackcat has joined the chat room. ‹Dee› hello blackcat Susan has joined the chat room. ‹Carrie V. I was temping for about a year before I quit. ‹Cimorene› did u shoot chickens out of canons at airplanes??? ‹Carrie V. ooh, poor chickens! ‹daniel› LOL a Larry reference ! ‹Dee› Hi Susan ‹blackcat› hi ‹Susan› Hi ‹Cimorene› *is the redneck queen, ty!* ‹Carrie V. Before the temp job I was an admin asst. at an accounting firm. ‹Cimorene› :-S ‹Cimorene› I don't blame you for writing ‹Cimorene› accounting is tough work! ‹skarrah› well, I;m surprised that didn't kill all creativity. ‹Carrie V. It is. My mom's a CPA ‹daniel› wow ! the excitement of accounting ! how did you wean yourself away? ‹Cimorene› and if you write you look like you're still working ‹Susan› Carrie, I had a question... Will cormac be out of jail soon ‹Thomas› wow... not something I could do. Even though my dad did. ‹Carrie V. Actually, It was great having a job that required no serious thought. :) ‹Cimorene› lol ‹Carrie V. Ah, the Cormac questions! ‹Cimorene› and Susan, good q ‹Carrie V. I get asked that a lot. ‹Cimorene› uh.. hello... total yumminess that's not taken? ‹Susan› well, in how many books ‹Cimorene› of course! ‹Carrie V. I don't know how much to say without spoiling it. ‹Dee› lol ‹Susan› ok ‹Cimorene› lol ‹Dee› the spoiler in Silver is bad enough ‹Thomas› Maybe in this book somehow? *hopes* ‹Cimorene› dee ‹blackcat› How long has Cormac even been in jail? It hasn't even been that long has it? ‹Dee› which i wont say ‹Cimorene› stop teasing ‹Carrie V. But part of having Cormac in prison is to add some realism to the books. (I was getting tired of all these bad ass hitmen in books never getting caught.) ‹skarrah› Dee, you're mean. :P ‹Dee› lol ‹Cimorene› silver bullet will be a whole book with him in the clinker ‹Carrie V. So I don't want a magical solution or cheating to get him out. ‹Cimorene› see? another reason I love carrie vaughn... she put someone good in jail:D ‹skarrah› It is nice to hear. ‹blackcat› My friend's grandpa shot a skinwalker and didn't go to jail for it. ‹Dee› What about special priveledges ‹James Fargo› whats a skinwalker? ‹Carrie V. Are you talking about the teaser in the first chapter I posted? I'm having such a hard time keeping my mouth shut about that one! ‹Dee› and sorry about the typos i rely on my word processor too much ‹Cimorene› plz ‹pwdawn› conjugal visits? ‹Cimorene› who among us is the perfect speller??? ‹daniel› a retrial with kitty displaying her regeneration skills could spring him I bet ‹Dee› lol it and the teaser for book 5 ‹Cimorene› cormac gets nookie??? ‹skarrah› do they even exist cimorene?? ‹Cimorene› in jail??? ‹Cimorene› if I wasn't married I might pay him a visit... heheh ‹skarrah› lol. ‹Cimorene› and prolly not ‹Thomas› lol ‹Carrie V. Here's the thing: I have a plan for Cormac. ‹Carrie V. The prison he's in is a real prison, and it's been a prison for 150 years. ‹Dee› yeah and oooh ‹Carrie V. It's way haunted. ‹Susan› that makes sense, I just didn't want him to stay in jail forever and disapear.. Hes too good a character ‹Cimorene› :O!:O ‹Dee› .... ‹skarrah› Ooooo. ‹blackcat› Ghosts? Will there be ghosts in the prison? ‹Carrie V. He won't disappear. ‹pwdawn› haunted...i wanna know where this is heading ‹daniel› I like Ben too tho, the nice(r) guy should not always finish last ‹Susan› good ‹skarrah› *remembers Carrie mentioning research* ‹Carrie V. But it may be a little while before we get the whole story. ‹Cimorene› omg... I could hate you... ‹Cimorene› lol ‹James Fargo› A Cormac spin off series? ‹Carrie V. Oh, the skinwalker question: Navajo magic users who are able to take on the form of other animals. They're pretty bad ass. ‹Thomas› *anticipates even more than he already did* ‹Dee› lol Ben gets his lol oh wait sorry he already did he is with Kitty ‹Cimorene› and next to no one talks about skinwalkers ‹Cimorene› those are like... taboo ‹Carrie V. So if I miss any questions in the rush, please let me know and I'll try to get them all. ‹daniel› Eye of Cat by Roger Zelazny features some American Indian mythologies as well, altho not skinwalkers ‹James Fargo› i had a Navajo indian for a college prof. once that wasn't able to g o home because a witch put a curse on him ‹Carrie V. Yeah, it was actually kind of hard finding anything on skinwalkers. There's technical stuff written by anthropologists, but the people from the culture don't want to talk about it. ‹Cimorene› nope. It brings attention on themselves ‹James Fargo› eventually he defeated her I guess and could return to visit his releatives ‹Carrie V. Talking about it brings suspicion onto them. ‹Cimorene› I have a friend who lives in NM and she won't talk about 'em either ‹daniel› I was disappointed Zelazny was not listed with your favorite authors Carrie ‹blackcat› I'm Navajo. That's why I know about skinwalkers. ‹Carrie V. You know, I like Zelazny, esp. his Wild Cards stuff. ‹Carrie V. I'm just not crazy about him. ‹Cimorene› lol ‹daniel› i thought his Lord of Light was brilliant...altho it is older ‹Dee› How did you get started writing? ‹Carrie V. I've always written. ‹Cimorene› ooh... yeah ‹daniel› and yes, the wildcards was a great concept series ‹pwdawn› out of all your favorite authors, who is your favorite? ‹Carrie V. I know that's kind of a common answer, but I really have. My Mom recently dug up a copy of a story I wrote when I was eight. ‹Carrie V. "Sally the Horse." A total rip off of The Black Stallion. ‹Carrie V. :) ‹skarrah› Is it true Kitty goes back to Denver in Silver Bullet? ‹daniel› :) ‹Thomas› Wow... =) ‹Carrie V. Robin McKinley and Ray Bradbury are right up there. They've both been incredibly influential. ‹Cimorene› what is your favorite part about the little universe you've created> BrandyWine has joined the chat room. ‹Cimorene› I love McKinley ‹Carrie V. And yes, Kitty goes back to Denver. (that's on the back blurb so it isn't a spoiler.) ‹BrandyWine› Hi all Hello Carrie ‹skarrah› Is it? *totally missed that* ‹pwdawn› hey brandy ‹Carrie V. McKinley has a new book out, which is awesome because she only puts one out every 4-5 years. ‹Lisa› hi brandy ‹Carrie V. Hi there! ‹Thomas› I wonder what happens with Carl and Meg. ‹James Fargo› i just read a Bradbury, forgot the itle though abunch of spirits and haunts living in a old house tofether ‹Cimorene› i have spindles end and have read the beauty ones ‹Thomas› Hi brandy ‹skarrah› hi Brandy. ‹Carrie V. This is where I can't say anything. About Carl and Meg, I mean. ‹Cimorene› lol ‹daniel› with only 3 books out and you are working on your 5th...how many ahead do you have idea's for or are planned? ‹blackcat› Are you going to be bringing TJ back as a ghost? ‹Carrie V. McKinley's best book is Deerskin, I think. ‹Carrie V. A fairy tale retelling, and she really takes the gloves off for it. ‹Thomas› Of course. ‹Cimorene› I read about it on her site. ‹Carrie V. I'm in the planning stages for Kitty 7. ‹Cimorene› She gave real problems in that one ‹BrandyWine› Very Cool ‹Carrie V. I have rough drafts for 5 and 6 finished. ‹skarrah› I'm trying to get my hands on Sunshine but the bookshops are not willing. ‹Thomas› I'll have to check out some of her books. I've been reading her blog since you posted a link for it. ‹Susan› How many are you going to write in the series ‹daniel› wow, so we have a lot to look forward to :) ‹Cimorene› sunshine was not my fave:-S ‹Carrie V. grrr, I don't understand why her books are so hard to find. ‹Thomas› Awesome. 123 has joined the chat room. ‹Dee› HI 123 ‹Cimorene› so what bad habits do you have?? ‹Carrie V. TJ -- I want to write an "original story" for him. I've got an outline for it. ‹Dee› Teasing readers ‹Carrie V. heh. ‹Dee› yeah ‹Dee› LOL ‹skarrah› re: TJ - YAY! ‹Carrie V. I hate spoilers so I tend not to give much away. ‹Thomas› Nice. That will be fun. ‹Carrie V. What's hard is meshing "the stories I want to write" with "what I'm contracted to write." ‹skarrah› even if we ask nicely Carrie? *grins* ‹pwdawn› tough ‹Carrie V. The publishers don't always see eye to eye with me. ‹Dee› thats fine its a good thing to tease I got to read Silver and I cannot wait for book 5 I am offically hooked ‹daniel› will Kitty be going to Rio? and I apreciate the literary references such as to "The Necklace" in KGTW ‹blackcat› My friend just finished a new chapter in her story. I have to go read it. Be back! ‹pwdawn› want us to beat them up for you? ‹pwdawn› :) Linda Mooney has joined the chat room. ‹Carrie V. Naw, I just keep telling myself there's plenty of time. ‹Dee› Hello Linda ‹pwdawn› hey linda! ‹Linda Mooney› Hi! ‹Cimorene› I'm all for the beating of publishers if they don't give me more of what I want ‹Cimorene› lol ‹Cimorene› hi linda ‹skarrah› lol. ‹Thomas› Hi Linda ‹skarrah› hi Linda. ‹Thomas› Haha... ‹Carrie V. Thanks for noticing the literary references. I love doing them. I have a Master's in English lit and get a little crazy with it sometimes. ‹Linda Mooney› Hi, Carrie! ‹James Fargo› So how long do werewolves live? ‹Susan› Yeah, publishers should publish more quickly ‹Cimorene› god q ‹Carrie V. Hi! I know I'm missing questions...will try to scroll back... ‹Cimorene› *good ‹Cimorene› more typo demons ‹daniel› I like it, just student taught a course in American Lit at the local college here (while getting my teaching degree) ‹Cimorene› I'm about to fire my secretary and get new one. lol ‹Carrie V. Werewolves in my world have a natural human lifespan. They're just really tough to damage. ‹Carrie V. But they do age. ‹Cimorene› realistic ‹skarrah› Did you always plan for Kitty and Ben to hook up? ‹Carrie V. There was a bad habits question... I'm very type A. Which I know is a good habit for some people. But when it goes into obsessive compulsive territory is kind of a pain. ‹Dee› what about changing into something else such as vampires, is that possible and if so what would the results be? Kendall L. has joined the chat room. ‹daniel› a really hairy vampire? ‹Carrie V. I didn't originally plan for Kitty and Ben to hook up. When I wrote the first book, I wasn't really thinking series. But I have to say, as soon as he walked on stage, I liked him. ‹Dee› Hi Kendall ‹Dee› lol daniel ‹Carrie V. I hadn't planned him out too much. I needed a lawyer for that scene, and he showed up. ‹Dee› yeah Love Ben ‹James Fargo› yes that was my next questions can a werewolve be come vampirized? ‹Thomas› Hi Kendall ‹Kendall L.› This is blackcat again. : ) ‹daniel› welcome back Kendall ‹Cimorene› another good q ‹Dee› ah well then welcome back ‹skarrah› Welcome back. ‹Kendall L.› Thanks ‹Carrie V. In my world, I decided (because it's my world and I can do that!) that whatever causes vampirism and lycanthropy make a person immune to just about all diseases--including vampirism and lycanthropy. ‹Linda Mooney› lol ‹daniel› but not arthritis ! ‹Cimorene› so one can't have the other ‹Carrie V. So a vampire can't become a werewolf, or vice versa. ‹Thomas› lol ‹pwdawn› nice logic ‹Carrie V. It just made sense to me. ‹Dee› very cool ‹Susan› If you got vamped or bitten would your diseses go away ‹skarrah› Can vampires have children? ‹Carrie V. I'm actually trying to be a little scientific with all this. ‹Dee› lol well makes sense ‹Carrie V. Susan, that actually comes up in Silver Bullet. ‹Cimorene› arghhhh ‹Susan› ohhhh ‹Carrie V. skarrah, that does too... ‹Cimorene› you tease, you ‹BrandyWine› LOL ‹daniel› are you ever asked a question in a chat that gives you an idea for a book or plot twist ‹skarrah› tease. :P ‹Carrie V. I should just start saying "Read Silver Bullet!" ‹BrandyWine› lol ‹Thomas› haha... ‹daniel› we would if we could !! ‹skarrah› we would if we could. :D ‹Susan› I would if i could too ‹skarrah› lol. ‹daniel› hehe beat you skarrah ‹Dee› When is the release date and where can they buy it? ‹skarrah› :P ‹Carrie V. This is my first chat, so technically no. But readers have emailed with ideas and such. ‹Cimorene› hell, I'm gonna beat down my local walden's ‹Cimorene› :O!:O ‹Cimorene› we took your chat virginity ‹Carrie V. Generally, because I'm working 2-3 books ahead, I've got more than enough ideas. ‹skarrah› Amazon will be delivering mine. ‹Dee› OMG ‹Cimorene› woooooowie ‹Thomas› I just hope I can find it easily before school starts back since it's out on the first. ‹Dee› OH WOW ‹James Fargo› and decapitation will kill both the vampire andthe werewolve? ‹skarrah› Takes forever for Kitty books to get to UK bookshops. ‹Carrie V. eeek....it's like Rocky Horror, do I have to do a dance? ‹Dee› I hope you are having a good time... ‹daniel› ROFL ‹Carrie V. Yeah, it seems like it's taking forever for this book to come out. ‹Carrie V. People have so many questions about it! ‹Susan› I KNOW ‹Linda Mooney› It's just a step to the left... ‹Cimorene› no, lol, but a "omg, more please yes" would be good:D ‹Carrie V. I am having a good time. You're keeping me on my toes! ‹Dee› Will your books be avialable in PDF as well? ‹Kendall L.› It's the publisher'd fault. They're soo slow. ‹Dee› great ‹Cimorene› yeah... e-books ‹Carrie V. Oh, I do have a couple of Kitty short stories in the pipeline to tide people over next year. ‹daniel› lucky for me, I did not discover your work until you had 3 published, so I did not have to wait forever for a sequel ‹Susan› me too ‹Carrie V. Yeah, it's up to the publisher whether there's an electronic version and how often these come out. ‹pwdawn› lucky you daniel ‹Kendall L.› me three ‹Dee› lol ‹skarrah› i found Midnight before Washington. It's been Hell Daniel. ‹Susan› But then i had to spend all night reading KTH ‹Carrie V. Once I hand it over I don't have much control. ‹Dee› You mentioned teases can these be found through your site? ‹Thomas› I started with number two and then had to try and find one... which was a pain since I was still in a small town at the time. ‹Carrie V. I really appreciate that people are sitll discovering the first book. ‹daniel› I found washington first and was encouraged to find the others...had to drive a few hours to do it tho ‹Thomas› Finally just ordered it off the net ‹Cimorene› dee sent me all mine so I could review them... got all three at once and been waitin for silver bullet ever since! ‹Carrie V. One of the hardest things about this business is longevity and how to get it. ‹James Fargo› i foubnd the first two on the library shelf, now I will have go out and actually buy one ‹Dee› LOL ‹daniel› we all wish you luck ! ‹Cimorene› well, obviously you've made yourself quite the following ‹skarrah› Who's you argent? ;) ‹Carrie V. thanks! ‹skarrah› *agent ‹Dee› If you want to visit Carries site you can Click the Silver Bullet cover ‹Carrie V. heehee ‹Dee› ooh good Q ‹daniel› LOL oh sure, ask a werewolf about silver (argent) ‹Carrie V. the Ashely Grayson Agency. ‹Cimorene› yeah. who's the lucky person? ‹Thomas› well good luck I'm sure you'll have plenty of readers for a long time to come. ‹Kendall L.› what if you clicked one of the other covers? ‹Carrie V. yeah, I noticed that argent/silver too! ‹skarrah› lol. ‹daniel› the typo from hell ! LOL ‹Dee› What other works are you planning on or want to write outside of Kitty ‹Cimorene› good one! ‹Thomas› great question ‹Dee› the other covers go to reviews ‹skarrah› very good! ‹Carrie V. I'm actually taking a little break from Kitty right now (because I finished 6 early) to work on some short stories and a dragon novel. ‹Cimorene› dragon??? ‹Cimorene› can we get a hint? ‹pwdawn› dragons would be awesome ‹skarrah› will they be published or are they just for you? ‹Dee› Yes you are a Sci Fi baby right ‹Carrie V. This is kind of annoying because McKinley's new book is a dragon novel and I've decided I can't read it until I finish mine. So it's huge incentive to get writing! ‹daniel› what short stories other than the wildcard series? ‹Thomas› Haha... ‹Carrie V. Yes, I am a sci fi baby. :) ‹Kendall L.› Does the Dragon novel have anything to do with the one you mentioned in your blog? ‹Cimorene› note here - your blog is read! ‹Carrie V. I'm not going to say anymore than "dragons" right now. It's too early to talk much about it. And I'm hoping it'll be out in the world someday! ‹James Fargo› a sci fi baby? did you grow up on Star trek re-runs? ‹skarrah› who didn't James? lol. ‹Kendall L.› I  dragon stories. ‹Cimorene› you're horrible... a tease ‹daniel› I did not !@ ‹Carrie V. yay, my blog is read! No, it's completely different than the dragon story published in Weird Tales, the one that it turns out was heavily influenced by the movie ";DRagonslayer." ‹daniel› i grew up on the real thing LOL ‹Cimorene› *hearts dragon stories too* ‹James Fargo› alright everyone... Kirk or Piccard? ‹Susan› Kirk ‹skarrah› Piccard. :) ‹Cimorene› kirk! ‹Linda Mooney› Ack! I grew up when ST was originally shown! :( ‹Carrie V. Kirk. ‹Cimorene› and janeway ‹Thomas› It'd be nice to have another dragon story. ‹Susan› JANEWAY ‹James Fargo› Kirk myself ‹Dee› Piccard bald head ‹daniel› me too Linda, that was what I meant :) ‹Carrie V. My parents raised me Star Trek, Asimov, Heinlein, "2001," etc. etc. etc. ‹Thomas› Piccard, and Janeway. ‹Cimorene› asimov is good ‹daniel› what do you think of heinlein? ‹Thomas› How old are you Carrie? ‹BrandyWine› Piccard definately ‹James Fargo› William Shatner was suppose to come to Fargo for a Sci FI convention last year but he cancelled ‹Cimorene› I've read a smidge of his work in one of his anthologies ‹Carrie V. I liked ST: TNG when it was out, but have developed a great appreciation for Trek Classic. thepageflipper has joined the chat room. ‹Kendall L.› It's rude to ask people their ages. ‹Dee› Hey Pageflipper ‹James Fargo› Maybe we can get carrie to come instead? ‹Cimorene› I'll volunteer mine:D ‹Kendall L.› Hi pageflipper ‹Cimorene› 22 ‹thepageflipper› Hi! ‹skarrah› Hiya pageflipper. ‹daniel› Cim is just a baby ! ‹Thomas› Cool. I'm 21 ‹Lisa› hi pageflipper ‹Dee› lol actually i think her age is hidden on her site ‹Cimorene› haha</p> ‹Carrie V. Question from way back: I tend to write lots of different kind of short stories. I've been in Realms of Fantasy, Baen's Universe, Weird Tales, places like that. ‹Thomas› hi pageflipper ‹Cimorene› thomas is younger ‹Cimorene› lol ‹Thomas› Haha... yeah just a bit. ‹Carrie V. Yes, I'm debating about answering the age question. The answer is on my website. B-day is 1973. ‹Cimorene› *has also been married for 4 years* ‹James Fargo› Carris is about 35 I think ‹Dee› I am a year older so its ok ‹daniel› I loved stranger, but as a general rule, I find Heinleins characters unbelievable...that is where I think Carrie has him easily beaten, hers are believable ‹Carrie V. I like Heinlein's "juveniles." ‹skarrah› I'm only the same age as Thomas. :P ‹BrandyWine› I am endless in age ‹Kendall L.› Am I the youngest one here? ‹Carrie V. Didn't like "Stranger in a Strange Land." Way too obvious I thought. ‹Thomas› Wow... that's amazing Cimorene. ‹skarrah› And have never even heard of Heinlein. ‹Lisa› what's the most enjoyable thing about writing for you? ‹BrandyWine› and Carrie what inspired you to write Kitty ‹Cimorene› ty ‹Carrie V. Wow, big question. ‹Cimorene› and good q lisa and brannnnnnnnndy ‹Thomas› yeah good q's. ‹Lisa› thnx, brandy stole my other one lol ‹skarrah› Agreed. ‹Carrie V. Most enjoyable thing: I love it when I go back and can't actually remember writing that particular thing and thinking it's really cool and I couldn't possibly have written it. ‹skarrah› lol. ‹Carrie V. I love it when a bunch of stuff comes together in ways I didn't expect and gives me a "wow" moment. ‹Cimorene› doesn't that happen with seeing your work in print tho? ‹BrandyWine› lol there is the cover art, and the vamps of course ‹Cimorene› omg ‹Cimorene› the cover art ‹Cimorene› how does THAT come together ‹skarrah› Do you have a favourite character? ‹Cimorene› ? ‹Carrie V. I mean, it's great seeing stuff in print. But if I didn't get some kind of thrill out of the day to day grunt work I'd never be able to keep it up. ‹Cimorene› lol ‹Cimorene› i know the feeling on grunt work ‹Carrie V. The cover art? That's all the publisher. They have an art department, and they decided on the style they want, and discuss with the editor what it should look like, hire the artist, put it together, etc. ‹Dee› LOL ‹Thomas› lol ‹Cimorene› as brandy asked, what inspired you to write kitty ‹Carrie V. Well, Kitty's my favorite of course. But that's probably because I've been living in her head for 6 books now! ‹Cimorene› ? ‹Kendall L.› So the publisher decided to make Kitty look like you in the back? ‹Carrie V. Ah yes--once again, if I miss a question please ask again. ‹Dee› go ahead cim ‹James Fargo› yes I think it is Carrie as Kitty on the covers also ‹Cimorene› I did ‹skarrah› brb. ‹Dee› lol ‹James Fargo› we are on to you carrie ‹Cimorene› I forgot the ? at the end of the dang thing ‹Dee› ok ‹Cimorene› lol ‹Carrie V. I started Kitty because I noticed these vampire and werewolf stories tend to get pretty soap operaish and Dr. Laura would never be able to handle their problems. ‹Cimorene› I noticed that too ‹Cimorene› carrie and kitty look similiar ‹Susan› lol ‹Dee› who is dr laura ‹Carrie V. And in a world with vamps and werewolves, of course there'd be a talk radio show dedictated to them. ‹skarrah› back. ‹Dee› wb ‹James Fargo› Carrie to you ever listen Coast to Coast AM during the overnight? ‹Carrie V. Dr. Laura is a very obnoxious talk radio host who tells people what to do with their lives. ‹Cimorene› and the tattoo on the back of kitty's back on the Holiday cover looks bigger than the one on Midnights. Addition, maybe? ‹James Fargo› Thats what your books remind me of? ‹Carrie V. No, I don't listen to Coast to Coast unfortunately. ‹Carrie V. Ironically, I'm not much of a night owl. ‹pwdawn› how did you do your research for a night dj? ‹Cimorene› coast to coast... that's the ghost show thingy, right? ‹Cimorene› with the paranormal? ‹James Fargo› I bet they would love to have you on as a guest ‹BrandyWine› definately ‹Carrie V. As for the Kitty looks like me question, the answer is: I've never met the artist. He's never met me. It's all coincidence. ‹Carrie V. I wrote a big FAQ thing about it. ‹BrandyWine› what about live radio chats do you have any of those? ‹Cimorene› riiiiiiiiiiiight. lol ‹James Fargo› ghost, bigfoot, ufos, science, conspiracy ‹Thomas› lol ‹Carrie V. Here's the link: http://carriev.word press.com/2007/06/1 2/faq-is-that-you-o n-the-covers/ ‹Cimorene› I infrequently live on ghostvillage and they've mentioned it a few times ‹Dee› watch the space between 1 and 2 ‹pwdawn› if you believe it coincidence doodoo ‹Carrie V. I also don't have a tattoo. Neither does Kitty. People ask about that. :) ‹James Fargo› Carrie have you ever experienced anything supernatural or met a non human before? ‹Dee› the chat program blocks for spammers ‹Carrie V. ah, okay. ‹Carrie V. Me, I'm going to have to say no. ‹Thomas› How do you go about making a list of what you should reasearch for a book and how do you go about doing the research? ‹Carrie V. I should also mention I was raised by scientists and tend to be on the Scully side of the equation. ‹Cimorene› lol ‹Kendall L.› Ick! Science! ‹Carrie V. I always look for the rational explanation before going to the supernatural explanation. ‹skarrah› lol, Kendall. ‹BrandyWine› What writing rituals do you have, music, candles, favorite food near by? And is that really your desk on the SIte? ‹Dee› cool ‹Dee› so you have the insides to the physics of it ‹Cimorene› most of us freaks like that do. the reason we do it tho is so that way we can sy we proved it was supernatural ‹skarrah› what's your favourite way to procrastinate? :) ‹Thomas› haha... cool. ‹Carrie V. I do research two ways: I have a list of things I want to write about and read for ideas. Then, when I'm done with the book, I have a really good idea of specific things I need. ‹James Fargo› Me too. I felt bad when my mom said she saw a angel when my dads motehr was dying in the hospital room ‹Carrie V. Now, I do think there's a lot of freaky stuff in the world. ‹Carrie V. Lots of things that are magical, per se. ‹Carrie V. Sunsets, baby horses. Here's the way I put it: the universe is greater than the sum of its parts. ‹Thomas› Cool. Thanks. ‹Carrie V. That "greater than" is the stuff we can't explain. ‹Kendall L.› Okay this is a stupid question. You don't have to answer it. Do you believe in unicorns? ‹Kendall L.› I had to ask, sorry. ‹Cimorene› I do... alexander the great's horse was one :D ‹Carrie V. Heh. It just so happens my best friend for many years was a snow white Appaloosa. ‹James Fargo› I think that also. If it happened it isn't supernatural, we just don't understand it yet ‹Dee› Not stupid the only stupid Q is the one not asked ‹Carrie V. And I was mostly convinced that she was a unicorn in disguise. ‹Carrie V. That's the kind of magic I'm talking about. ‹Linda Mooney› Dee, amen ‹Carrie V. She was an amazing horse. ‹Cimorene› lol ‹Cimorene› so:D ‹Cimorene› what bad habits do you have ‹Cimorene› ? ‹Carrie V. Proscrastination and rituals: I have to put in CDs. Radio doesn't work. ‹Lisa› :) ‹skarrah› :) ‹Carrie V. But I have to have some kind of music playing to shut off the type A part of my brain. ‹Susan› not even if kitty is on the radio? ‹Carrie V. I tend to drink tea. But I don't have food with me. I need to get up and walk to the kitchen now and then. ‹pwdawn› what kind of soundtrack do you have for each book ‹Thomas› Haha... same for me. ‹Dee› understand ‹daniel› what did you plan on doing with your masters in english? ‹Carrie V. I walk my dog to shake the cobwebs out. ‹BrandyWine› How you write first in kitty's view then the wolf is very cool what inspired that thought ‹Carrie V. Gosh, good questions everyone. You're keeping me busy! Aemelia has joined the chat room. ‹Kendall L.› Hi ‹Dee› We aim to please ‹pwdawn› hey aemelia ‹Dee› HI Aemelia ‹skarrah› What part of the writing process do you wish you could cut out? If any. ‹Aemelia› hello, sorry so late! ‹daniel› hello aemelia ‹Carrie V. I made Kitty a werewolf because I didn't think there were many good werewolf stories out there. Those that were tended to be werewolf = untamed horrible monster. ‹skarrah› Hi Aememelia. ‹BrandyWine› I was too hey YOU ‹Thomas› Welcome Aemelia. ‹Cimorene› well, if we keep you busy and happy, you might do another one... ‹James Fargo› Do you keep silver bullets in the house? ‹pwdawn› no worries chicka ‹Lisa› hi aemelia ‹Dee› I agree ‹Cimorene› where more people will show up... and enhance the readership ‹Carrie V. None of them tried to be sympathetic. So I did lots and lots of reading about wolves and wolf behavior and tried to figure out what a wolf/human person would really be like. ‹James Fargo› were you influenced by The Incredible Hulk Then? ‹Carrie V. I couldn't have my view point character be a werewolf and not have part of it from the wolf point of view. ‹skarrah› Very cool. The werewolf=monster thing gets dull after a while. ‹Kendall L.› Silver bullets are probably very expensive. There probably aren't many who do. ‹James Fargo› I see a parallel between Kitty and David Banner Bradford has joined the chat room. ‹Carrie V. It's especially a good way to show how well ( or not, sometimes) the two halves integrate. ‹Kendall L.› hi ‹Dee› Well i think you did a very good job, where can those of us aspiring find some of your research material ‹Dee› Hello Bradford ‹Bradford› Hi dee ‹skarrah› hi Bradford. ‹Thomas› Yeah, indeed they do get dull. I agree that you did an excellent job Carrie. ‹Kendall L.› libraries have good info. ‹Carrie V. I watched the Hulk religiously when it was on. I hadn't really thougth about the connection. ‹Carrie V. Here's the thing: the Hulk is like the traditional werewolf story, which is basically the Jekyll and Hyde story: can't control the beast within, and soon it will destroy me, yadda yadda. ‹Carrie V. The difference being the Hulk usually did good instead of evil. ‹Carrie V. But it's still "can't control the beast within, two separate halves of the self." ‹Carrie V. I wanted to say, "Look, it isn't either or, it's a scale." ‹James Fargo› I knew it. I knew it was either the Hulk or Caine from Kung Fu ‹Carrie V. So can you call it an "anti-influence?" ‹daniel› LOL ever tempted to have kitty say "don't get me angry, you would not like me when I am angry?" ‹Dee› Besides Wolves dont have concience attacks ‹skarrah› lol. ‹Carrie V. have you seen the acknowledgements in Midnight Hour? ‹Carrie V. ";Don't make me hungry. You won't like me when I'm hungry." ‹Thomas› lol... ‹daniel› hee hee ‹skarrah› lmao. ‹pwdawn› funny ‹Cimorene› I like that Kitty is the shy, quiet-ish type ‹Carrie V. When I wrote the first book I was living with housemates who discovered that I got very very grouchy when I didn't eat. ‹Dee› Its been a while but will look again ‹skarrah› *has copy beside her* ‹James Fargo› lol ‹Cimorene› particularly when she's wolf ‹Dee› LOL ‹skarrah› Yeah, having a submissive werewolf is a nice change too. ‹Dee› :D ‹Cimorene› a lil more realistic than other were stories, where they're all crazy n wild ‹Carrie V. That was on purpose, too. I get annoyed by the stereotypical "kick ass" heroine. ‹pwdawn› do you share any character traits with kitty? ‹Carrie V. The one who will shoot everyone in the room before you can blink. ‹Cimorene› Kitty only really kicks ass if she's backed into a corner ‹Cimorene› another wolf thingy ‹Thomas› yeah ‹Cimorene› wild animal period, really ‹James Fargo› You should have Kitty kick Ann Coulters ass ‹Carrie V. oooh, don't tempt me. ‹daniel› lol ‹Cimorene› unless you count wolverines, grizzlies, brown bears and polar bears ‹Thomas› lol ‹BrandyWine› LOL ‹skarrah› lol. Aemelia has joined the chat room. ‹Kendall L.› Have you ever written a vampire story of any sort? ‹daniel› I would have to buy any book that had that ‹BrandyWine› you can tell she is in AK ‹Lisa› what have you learned about Kitty over the course of the series? ‹BrandyWine› wb Aemlia ‹James Fargo› Ann Coulters nasty enough she might scare off even a werewolve ‹Cimorene› lol. THose bears will stalk ‹Carrie V. It's funny with Kitty--we do share some traits. Like the literary references. But in other ways we're quite different. ‹Cimorene› and the wolverine is nasty anyway Aemelia has joined the chat room. ‹Carrie V. I've written a couple of vampire shorts. ‹skarrah› Is there anything about the novel writing process you don't like doing? ‹Cimorene› good o ne! ‹Dee› Would you like the opportunity to talk about any other work while here? ‹daniel› do you have enough shorts for a collection? would love to get them ‹Carrie V. One of them will be in an anthology called "Hotter Than Hell," coming out next June, edited by Kim Harrison. It's about Emma from "Kitty Goes to Washington" ‹Cimorene› harrison? ‹Cimorene› as in ‹Cimorene› the? ‹Bradford› I liked emma, she seemed vulnerable ‹daniel› oh cool, I like kim harrison too ‹Kendall L.› I'll have to read that. ‹James Fargo› Poor Emma I just read that part the otehr night ‹Carrie V. It's due out in June, I think. ‹pwdawn› oh, no, next june? ‹Carrie V. What's hard: Revising novels is HARD. ‹pwdawn› you're killing me ‹pwdawn› :) ‹Kendall L.› It is hard. ‹Dee› LOL ‹Cimorene› well, you work and slave over it ‹James Fargo› Whos hard? ‹Thomas› Me too. I liked Emma. Was sad what happened to her though. ‹Carrie V. But very necessary. This is the part where it's easy to say, "Well, it's good enough" when you know it really really isn't and you need to figure out exactly what tweaks to make to make the novel the best it can be. ‹Cimorene› and then you get told parts have to get cut ‹Kendall L.› Revising is hard. ‹skarrah› revising is PAINFUL. ‹Thomas› I bet. I'll find out what that's like eventually since I have two stories I'm starting to work on. ‹Carrie V. The thing is, I've never really had a note from my editor that I didn't agree with deep down. And with me, it's less about cutting and more about adding. ‹Thomas› Cool. ‹Bradford› does the werewolf represent the subconscious mind? ‹Carrie V. Here's a hint for writers: If you find yourself saying, "Oh, that's just a little thing, no one will notice." People will absolutely notice and you really need to fix it. ‹Cimorene› is there something you have a hard time putting in your work> for me it's descriptions ‹Thomas› Ok, I'll keep it in mind. ‹James Fargo› carrie I do like how the reading of your books clips along at a nice pace, makes it more exciting that way ‹Kendall L.› I have a hard time making up last names. :( ‹Cimorene› and how when you solve one mystery, it just leads to another ‹Carrie V. Plot is hard for me. Having all these things happen, and making sure they tie together and make sense. It's way to easy to try and wave the magic wand and make it all just happen. But that never works. ‹skarrah› I agree with James. You never get bored in a Kitty book. ‹Cimorene› u do a good job at that ‹BrandyWine› Thats why she does a great series she deals with the main issue but leaves others ‹Carrie V. Thanks very much! ‹Thomas› I tend to have a hard time making up names period. ‹Kendall L.› i  Kitty books. ‹daniel› do you have enough shorts for a collection? would love to get them ‹Thomas› I agree with James too. ‹Carrie V. I've been known to get names out of the phone book. ‹skarrah› ditto. ‹Cimorene› uh... I'm with daniel ‹Cimorene› :O!:O ‹skarrah› I use name sites on the web. ‹Cimorene› you cheater you. Lol ‹Thomas› Haha... that would work. ‹BrandyWine› lol ‹Carrie V. I do have enough shorts for a collection (I'm up to 30 or so). It's on my "someday" list. ‹Cimorene› some poor schlup somewhere is going, "wtf!" ‹Dee› LOL ‹daniel› ohhh drools, twist a publishers arm !! ‹James Fargo› i like when you have to wait for the next book to come . Its fun going ot the book store to find the new releases ‹pwdawn› do you just open and point? ‹Thomas› Or maybe a dictionary (with famous ppl). ‹Carrie V. I also keep a baby name book by my desk. Every little thing helps. ‹Cimorene› baby name book... I have done! ‹Thomas› Wow, it'd be great to get a book of your shorts. ‹Cimorene› cept I go get it off the net ‹Linda Mooney› Carrie, it helps to be a teacher... you have a fresh roster every year to choose from :D ‹skarrah› Would love a book of shorts. :D ‹Dee› IGot that and famous names and places ‹Kendall L.› I use a pet name book. : ( ‹Cimorene› babynames.com or whatever it is ‹James Fargo› If you are looking for names just open a phone book and start reading ‹Carrie V. Actually, I discovered recently someone I know is named Douglas Bennett (Cormac's Dad's name). I didn't know Douglas's last name. Then he informed me and thought I was trying to kill him. I felt so bad! ‹Bradford› I think old names and regional names are cool ‹daniel› Carrie, tell your publisher "tons" of people in your chats requested a collection of your shorts ‹BrandyWine› OH no ‹Susan› ;p; ‹pwdawn› heehee ‹Cimorene› what's your favorite ink coler to use when you're writing by hand? ‹skarrah› behindthename.com is good if you want specific meanings behind names. ‹BrandyWine› and what its fiction ‹Dee› ty Skarrah ‹Carrie V. I like blue best. But I discovered this burgundy gel pen that I love. It's almost out of ink. I also have a black fountain pen that I love. ‹Thomas› Nice. Thanks Skarrah. ‹James Fargo› I love foutain pens ‹James Fargo› I am a pen fanatic ‹Carrie V. For period/fantasy sounding names the SCA website has a lot of resources, too. ‹daniel› what did you plan on doing with your masters in english? ‹Cimorene› I'm a blue person too. Drove my hubby nuts one nite cuz I told him I had to have a blue ink bic pen, the roung, clear soft plastic ones ‹skarrah› i love those triangular gel pens... ‹Kendall L.› Green and pink are fun to write in. :) ‹Cimorene› cuz I couldn't write with other ink... it obstructed my muse:D ‹James Fargo› people dont understand when I have to stop and go back to my vehicle becasue I need a different pen ‹skarrah› i like black for work. :D ‹Thomas› Haha... I tend to use black more often than not, but I have to find a pen (or pens) that I really like so I can use them all the time. ‹Cimorene› I bought a box of those pens and dumped the whole thing in my purse ‹cimorene›="" lol="" face="Arial" size="4"> ‹Carrie V. I got the Masters to see if I liked academia enough to stay there (ie doctorate, professorship, etc.) So I don't plan on using it at all, really. :) ‹Cimorene› never without a pen of the right color ‹Cimorene› lol ‹skarrah› lol. Cimorene. ‹Dee› OK so carrie what is you favorite meal of the day and what makes it special to you? ‹Cimorene› yeah ‹Cimorene› good one ‹Carrie V. But here's the thing: I spent two years reading lots and lots and lots of stuff and analyzing it and figuring out how literature works and what makes good writing. ‹Bradford› I'll bet you use your masters when you write, even if you aren't aware of it ‹Carrie V. I learned a lot. ‹daniel› I am working on a masters in history (quit my job and went back to school) but not sure if it is good for anything but teaching :) perhaps a museum? ‹skarrah› What's the top on you To Be Read list? Apart from the dragon book. ‹Bradford› skarrah, good question ‹Kendall L.› It drives me crazy to (hand) write in just one color. ‹Carrie V. Well, I like 'em all really. (meals, that is). Breakfast is nice--cereal and OJ because it's just a nice restful way to start the day. ‹skarrah› I'll be doing book conservation next year. Far from Masters level though. ‹Carrie V. But I love nothing more than a really nice dinner out with a group of friends, great food, and a good bottle of wine . ‹James Fargo› I went back to school for photography and now I have a huge loan to pay off LOL ‹Cimorene› favorite food? ‹Carrie V. Top of my To be Read: Steven Erikson's The Bonehunters. ‹Dee› Good Answer ‹pwdawn› hey carrie, i'll invite you to dinner :P ‹Dee› LOL ‹Carrie V. I'm waiting to borrow a copy. Then I'll hide away with it for aweek and no one will see me. ‹BrandyWine› good one dawn ‹skarrah› lol. ‹Thomas› Dinner out with a lot of friends and family is always fun. ‹Carrie V. Fave food: so many. Pasta dishes. Cheesecake. Nachos. ‹Cimorene› and my favorite question... when are you coming back to Alaska??????? ‹daniel› LOL I would dawn but did not want to scare her ‹Carrie V. Lots of comfort foods. ‹Thomas› lol. sounds like me when I start reading a really good book. ‹Carrie V. I want to try Alaska in winter, believe it or not. Northern lights and dogsledding. ‹pwdawn› haha, she actually lives only 40 minutes or so away ‹Cimorene› now is not the right time ‹Cimorene› we have no snow ‹skarrah› Linked to Cimorene's question: When are you coming to the UK?! :P ‹Carrie V. Hey, anyone can ask me to dinner. I don't have to say yes. :) ‹pwdawn› itCOULD happen ‹Cimorene› it's 11 degrees out, before counting the wind chill ‹Kendall L.› Yay! you're coming to Albuquerque soon. (ish) ‹daniel› too far to drive to florida tho ‹Dee› lol i promise dawn is safe carrie ‹Susan› You should come to Tucson AZ! ‹Aemelia› you can have some of our snow...not all though ‹Cimorene› lol ‹Cimorene› I like my alaska snow ‹Carrie V. UK. I studied in York as an exchange student. I love it and have many friends there. I haven't been back and really ought to visit them. I do fence, mostly with the SCA. It's a great sport. ‹Cimorene› Mt. McKinley is huge and scary looking:D ‹daniel› what weapon? ‹Cimorene› mine are bigger than yo--ours, mine are bigger than yours... ‹James Fargo› Do you study any other martial arts? ‹daniel› I fenced foil and epee ‹Carrie V. I loved the Kenai Peninsula. I want hike up far enough to see the glacier fields next time. (I only got to Exit glacier) ‹Cimorene› my mountains bigger, n my mountain's better ‹Cimorene› my mountains bigger than yours ‹Cimorene› :D ‹Cimorene› lol ‹Cimorene› sorry ‹Thomas› Any chance you'll come to Phoenix or Tuscon, AZ anytime soon? ‹BrandyWine› What about Rick will he get someone special too? I really like him. LOL ‹Carrie V. I fence epee, don't do any other martial arts I'm afraid. ‹skarrah› lol. ‹James Fargo› I have always believed the martial arts were for hunting down vampires LOL ‹Carrie V. Phoenix is definitely on my list. ‹Bradford› cim, you leave me speechless ‹Susan› good ‹James Fargo› i some karate myself ‹Cimorene› sorry ‹Cimorene› I can't help it ‹Thomas› Great, let us know when you come. I'll be sure to go. ‹Cimorene› I've seen mountains in the lower 48 ‹Cimorene› lol ‹Carrie V. I really like Rick, too. But he's very mysterious, even to me. I have a couple of unpublished stories that give hints about his background. ‹Cimorene› and I'm so biased ‹Carrie V. He had someone in his past. ‹Bradford› cim, there are other things besides mountains ‹daniel› will Kitty ever make it to Rio? ‹Cimorene› lol ‹Thomas› Cool. More Rick would be nice he was awesome in the first book. ‹skarrah› Hey, we know there are vampires and werewolves in Kitty's world....what else is there? ‹Cimorene› like hunting in the mountains ‹Cimorene› totally liberating ‹Carrie V. I don't know if Kitty will make it to Rio. There are so many possibilities! ‹Bradford› Maybe carrie will have to go to Rio first ‹Carrie V. But I also have plans for Luis. (so many plans, so little time.) ‹Kendall L.› I've been hoping for Luis to return. ‹Bradford› cim, hunting for what? ‹Linda Mooney› Carrie, it's been an honor to meet you!
