How did you make this website?
I created this layout and update the site by hand in Notepad (well, actually KWrite, but it's basically the same thing, in Linux). I learned all the HTML that I know from Lissa Explains It All, a website which I highly recommend.

How do you make dolls?
I use The GIMP, which is open source and free, to make my dolls. I usually pixel-shade, either with a "pencil" tool for the traditional look, or with the "paintbrush", similar to the method described in the tutorial at DHF. A lot of the times I will try several different techniques for one part of the doll, trying to find the way that looks best. I don't really have a strict method of making dolls that I use every time, however.

How long have you been making dolls?
I was inspired to start dolling for the first time after I visited this site: Vertical Descent. I made my very first doll in November of 2003, and my first doll site was opened on January 1st, 2004. It was The Doll's Lament, and it contained dolls by Shannon, Andrea, and myself. Soon after we began this site, the three of us split up, with Andrea and I making our own separate sites and Shannon keeping The Doll's Lament (which she still has today).
