Back home!

It has been 372 years, 373 days since the Victory of Lanival the Redeemer...

Ealuik kneels before the obelisk and carefully attaches a small hemisphere to its base.
Ealuik places his hands upon the black seal gracing the hemisphere's surface, eyes closed in concentration. With a satisfied nod, he stands back up.

With a gut-wrenching sensation, the world around you seems to shudder and twist. A stillness settles over your senses, and everything seems duller, less alive, than before. As you gaze around, trying to determine the cause of this feeling, you are certain that your mundane senses are unchanged. Nonetheless, you are certain that something is missing.

Ealuik says, "It is done, Shadebringer. Just as we'd hoped."

Everything around you disappears in a bright light which fades as the world around you turns blue. Points of white flicker like stars in the night sky, and a green disk appears in the center of your vision. As the disk grows, you see that its center is white and pale pink. The white points widen into thin lines that appear and disappear with no obvious pattern. As details become clearer, it becomes apparent that it is not the sky, but the ocean, that fills your vision, and the white threads are actually the foamy caps of the waves. You seem to be falling at an alarming speed towards the green disk, now identifiable as Taisgath Island, with the spiraling Guildhall at its heart. As you continue to plummet towards the ground, you notice a black void where the obelisk should stand, as if it has been wiped out of existence. Just before you land, your vision returns to normal, leaving you gasping for breath.

Ealuik gazes at the obelisk approvingly.

[Taisgath, Grove of the Obelisk]
A translucent obelisk, the small island's namesake, dominates the center of this silent grove. Oddly, no sounds of wildlife penetrate the thick foliage surrounding the small meadow. A slab of reddish-brown stone lies to one side of the obelisk. You also see a black seal and a slagged sphere.
Also here: Votary Hhstin and Scion Ealuik.
Obvious paths: west.

You sense that Olandern just located you here, and you are able to backtrace his location to Kalestraum Manor, Study.

>look seal
The black seal is set on a crystal hemisphere, which in turn is firmly attached to the obelisk.

>look obelisk
The obelisk is made of some translucent material and seems to shimmer slightly with an internal light. Square at the base, it tapers as it rises to height of nearly fifteen feet. Embedded at the peak of each side is a large, softly glowing jewel. Every available surface is carved with runes and passages. Some look quite similar to Gamgweth, others are completely foreign. Its base is encased in the glassy black rock of the hillside

>focus seal
Wide lines of lunar energy flow through the disk.
Roundtime: 20 seconds.

Kiluminati places his hands on the seal and closes his eyes in concentration.
The seal crumbles into ash at Kiluminati's touch, leaving the crystal hemisphere still attached to the obelisk.

Darkness engulfs you, shrouding you in a pitch blackness that seems to dull not just your sight, but all your senses. Instinctively, you open your mind, ready to receive whatever vision Fate has sent, but your thoughts are met only with silence. The blackness disperses suddenly as your senses turn again to this world.

>look hemi
The crystal hemisphere appears to hide a dark object at its heart, but is too cloudy to see through
The crystal hemisphere's color shifts from black to grey, obscuring the object within.

Frigeon gestures at a crystal hemisphere.
The hemisphere glows brightly, dispelling some of its inner darkness.
A bright light shines from the hemisphere, forcing you to avert your gaze.

>focus hemi
The clear crystal hemipshere protects a silver cube trapped within its depths.
You sense a magical pattern ready to absorb lunar mana.
Roundtime: 10 seconds.
You gesture at a crystal hemisphere.
The hemisphere vibrates with a low hum. (Unleash)

You gesture at a crystal hemisphere.
The hum grows unexpectedly loud and the hemisphere shatters, revealing a tarnished silver cube attached to the obelisk.

Darkness clouds your vision, blocking out the world around you. A sudden flash of light, followed by a low thrumming sound, fills your senses briefly before the darkness rolls in once again. As suddenly as it came upon you, the vision fades.

>focus cub
You sense a complicated matrix of teleportation and transduction magic.
Roundtime: 11 seconds.

>turn cube
With the shriek of twisted metal, the cube's surface folds and bends at your touch, rippling then reshaping into a cube.
Roundtime: 5 seconds.

>look cube
The cube is covered in dark etchings.

As Kiluminati prods the surface of the box, one side becomes fluid and melts away, exposing an ivory sphere within.
Starting at the edges of your vision, blackness rolls over your senses like thick smoke. The darkness fades, showing vague shapes as your ears pick up faint, unintelligible sounds. Your sight grows dim again as the shadow objects fade into the inky background. As if blown away by a strong wind, the cloud surrounding your senses dissipates.

>look sphere
The sphere's surface is round and smooth. There appears to be nothing physical holding the sphere to the obelisk, yet it remains firmly attached.

>focus ivory sphere
You sense a few lines of lunar mana set into the sphere in layers.
The lines seem to be acting as some kind of power source.
Roundtime: 11 seconds.

You carefully attempt to dissipate the topmost line of energy in the sphere, which begins to vibrate as it resists your tampering.
You are able to get the vibrations under control with a little effort, but the lines remain.
Roundtime: 10 seconds.

You carefully attempt to dissipate the topmost line of energy in the sphere, which begins to vibrate as it resists your tampering.
You manage to separate the vibrating line and drain it of its energy with a bit of effort.
Roundtime: 9 seconds.

Ileia lays her hands on the sphere and fixes it with a steady gaze.
Ileia frowns with frustration.
The sphere turns black and the room around you grows dim, as if the sphere is drawing the light from the room. The shadows around the sphere thicken, hiding it completely from view. Without warning, the shadows explode outward in a soundless shockwave which passes through you, flattening the grass and leaving you stunned by its force.

Blackness covers your sight, but quickly fades away. You are left looking at your surroundings, which suddenly look clearer, sharper. Though logic tells you that nothing has changed, your inner sense seems more acute, as if a fog has lifted.

And that was that, finally an event where no one had to explode for finality. We got PREDICT back, albeit with some adjustments. No longer are we able to predict upon our hands or body, but survival was blocked into one giant skillset. ALIGN was also released, and details as to how it works is still being discussed.
