Houses

• Did you ever wonder why you could see through closed doors in Tibia? Well, me too.
  • Update: You look through the keyhole of course!
  • In reality, it was because when approaching a building from the north or the west, one could not open the door because of the view of the house blocking the view of the door. So this was fixed, and now we are free to open our doors.

Day and night

• Each day in Tibia lasts one hour in Real Life.
  • For people who are a whole hour ahead or behind GMT (or on GMT) midnight will be every hour, on the hour (eg 9:00 PM, 6:00 AM, etc). Noon (midday) will always be at 30 minutes post the hour (eg 9:30 PM, 6:30 AM, etc).
  • For people who are X hours and 30 minutes ahead or behind GMT it is the opposite. Midnight is at 30 minutes past the hour, and noon on the hour.
• Each night in Tibia lasts 20 minutes in Real Life. This is equal to 8 Tibian hours.

Ounce

• You can move a lootbag from over 5000 oz. 5 squares away, but you can't do the same with a body.

Graphics

• The lava bubbles has the same graphic as a Blood Orb

• Also, the circles appearing when you are hit while using magic shield are the same as the wave circles in the water when you fish. The graphic is also used in the Hydras Hot Water Wave attack.

• 
  If you look at the male knight outfit from the left side or back, your arms do not look like arms but like severed limbs or flesh-matchsticks!

• On the male side, there are 5 sword addons, but only 1 axe addon.
  
  

The Find Person-spell

• Person is on same level and 0 to 4 squares away:
  [Person] is standing next to you.

• Person is on same level and 5 to 100 squares away:
  [Person] is to the north/west/south/east.

• Person is on any level and 101 to 274 squares away:
  [Person] is far to the north/west/south/east.

• Person is on any level and 275+ squares away:
  [Person] is very far to the north/west/south/east.

• Person is not directly north/west/south/east of you:
  [Person is ((very) far) to the north-west/south-west/south-east/north-east.

• Person is on a lower/higher level and 5 to 100 squares away:
  [Person] is on a lower/higher level to the north/west/south/east.

• Person is on a lower/higher level and 0 to 4 squares away:
  [Person] is below/above you.

Wind

• The wind of Tibia appears to always blow towards the east, and the only thing in Tibia that is affected by the wind seems to be the water and flags.

Gamemasters

• Heroes look the same as a Gamemaster . Only that a Gamemaster has a blue and a Hero a red Cape.
• Capes look the like the Cape on a Gamemaster .

Places

[Calassa

• Despite the fact that Calassa is an underwater area, you can use create Fire there.

Ghostlands

• 
  The Ghostlands, west of Carlin, contains only one single ghost on the surface, which resides on an unreachable floor, and can only be viewed, never killed. Upon further study it appears that it is due to it being on an elevated surface with identical tiles to the ground below it. Due to the fact you are unable to levitate it is presumed to be more than 1 floor above ground level. (most likely two).
• In Ghostlands, there is a Wild Warrior who is a master of camouflage .

Creatures

Behemoths

• The name Behemoth is also used in many different cultures to denominate a spiritual creature, represented by many forms and meanings. More about it here

Beholders

• The Beholder's language is called 469, and is produced by a series of blinks using their 5 eyes.
• Beholders used to have 6 eyes, but due to an unforeseen shift in the Godly powers (CipSoft Update) they now only have 5.
• The Braindeaths were created from Beholders during a bizarre experiment.

Butterflies

• A Butterfly flys, but they die when they fly through a Jungle Maw .

Centipedes

• Although Centipede's remains are green, when you gather it to vial it will be blood , not slime .

Cyclopses

• A Cyclops has 4 toes on his right foot, and 3 toes on his left.
• Cyclops wears Bast Skirts, but why can't you loot them in Cyclops.

Dragons

• The claw of Demodras is green , but Demodras is actually red.
• Like the Claw of Demodras, Dragon Scale Mail is green , yet it is only looted from Dragon Lords who are red.

Ferumbras

• Ferumbras' staff always looks the same, meaning you can always see the "F" shape on the staff, even if he turns around. Take a look at this picture.

Goblins

• Even though Goblins carry spears, they cannot drop them, and they disappear when you kill them.
• Goblins have been never updated, since the creation of Tibia.

Hellhound

• The tail of the Hellhound looks at the end as the head of a snake.
• The Hellhound is a direct connection to the Greek mythological fiend Chimera
• Each head of a Hellhound is symbol of Tibia elements. Left head is symbol of energy, center is symbol of fire, and right is symbol of poison.
• A Hellhound looks a little bit like the watch dog Fluffy with the three heads in the Movie Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. It has the same name as the 10th Anniversary Monster Fluffy.

Heroes

• A Minishabaal says: "I had Princess Lumelia as breakfast". Don't wonder, why a Hero says: "Have you seen princess Lumelia?".

 Hunter

• If you can loot the Sniper Gloves from Hunters, then why don't they use them on their outfit?

Mammoths

• Earlier Mammoths have not yet been seen, but after update 7.7 it was possible to summon Mammoths for 495 mana. CipSoft fixed this after update 7.8 and none have seen one since till introduction again in Summer Update 2007.
• Now Mammoths can be seen at Svargrond.

 Mimic

• Mimics could be summoned by a mage for no more mana than it would take to summon a rat. CipSoft fixed this, and Mimics can no longer be summoned.

Minotaurs

• After you have delivered the letter to Markwin (as part of the Postman Quest), he will call you the "Hornless Messenger".
• A book written by Markwin (the king of the minotaurs) says that he does not know what "KAPLAR" means. The minotaurs yell this in battle.
• In the Science Fiction series Star Trek, Qapla' is a kind of battle cry for an alien race of warriors - Klingons. Maybe that is where CipSoft got the idea. The word K'Plar is also mentioned as a rally cry by characters in the movie Team America: World Police.
• The Mino Mage changes his wand to the left hand and right hand went he moves .
• The Minotaur Archer use a Crossbow . He hold it in one hand. But Crossbow's are two-handed.
• The Crossbow which is used by Minotaur Archer's has silver or grey ends, but Crossbow's are only brown .

 Nightmares

• Just as the witches, the Nightmares use an attack that they are not immune to themselves: The poison ball.
• The eye on the Nightmare Shield looks as an eye of an Nightmare .
• On the Nightmare Shield, you can see the two letters "N" and "K". They are the two first letters of the Nightmare Knights.

 Orcs

• The Orc Warrior use a Wooden Shield . But the Orc Warrior's shield has still the old wooden shield design.
• The Orc Spearmen and Orc Riders use Dragon Lances on their sprites, but Spearmen drop Spears , while Riders drop Obsidian Lances .
• Orc Shamans carry Red Spell Wand in their hands, but if you kill them, you may find a Wand of Plague . The orc shaman always holds his spellwand to the left.

 Pirates

• Same time as the summer update 2006 came with the Pirates, the pirate film Pirates of The Caribbean II came onto the cinemas.
• The Pirate Corsairs use 2 different swords on their sprites. However, they only drop one kind of sword, the Sabre .
• The Pirate Skeleton is clearly seen using 2 Sabres - but it does not drop them.
• The Pirate Buccaneer has a bottle of run in his left hand.

 Quaras

• Every kind of Quaras has something on their heads. Look at the pictures down.
• 4 of the 5 Quara have similar feet.
• However, the fifth one walks on crab-like legs .
• The tail of the Quara Predator looks very similar to the creature product Fish Fin.
• The Quara Hydromancer has a punk's hairstyle.

 Scorpions

• You can open a Scorpion corpse, but it will give no loot.

 Spirit of Fire

• The Spirit of Fire looks as an Hellfire Fighter without any Armor.

 Trolls

• The Swamp Troll will Poison you if it damages you but is not immune to poison.

Vampires

• Vampires can turn into bats .

 Wasps

• A Wasp can fly over land, but cannot fly over water below it, or can they fly over trees, bushes, etc.
• A Wasp can fly, but it falls through pitfalls.

Witches

• When Witches attack you they can turn you into a Green Frog - but don't worry, after all they cannot turn you into a Toad .

• Witches use fire attacks, but are not immune. However, they are immune to energy and poison, elements that they do not use themselves.

 Yetis

• Yetis have been found on some servers, but some people didn't believe that they existed, until it was found that they are a type of boss monster.

Vocations on creatures

Apes

The Kongra is the warrior. It uses melee.

The Sibang is the distance fighter. It throws small stones at his target.

The Merlkin is the mage. It casts magic at it target and can heal itself.

Barbarians

The Barbarian Bloodwalker is the berserker. He walks very fast.

The Barbarian Headsplitter and the Barbarian Skullhunter are the warriors. They have normal speed and make meeles.

The Barbarian Brutetamer is the mage. She shoots magics and summons War wolves.

Dwarves

The Dwarf is the warrior, while the Dwarf Guard is the veteran warrior. They use melee.

The Dwarf Soldier is the warrior, as well as distance fighter. It shoots bolts at its target and then melee.

The Dwarf Geomancer is the mage. It drains the mana of the target and heals itself.

Lizards

The Lizard Templar is the warrior. It uses melee.

The Lizard Sentinel is the distance fighter. It throws spears at its target.

The Lizard Snakecharmer is the mage. It shoots poison attacks and heals itself.

Minotaurs

The Minotaur is the warrior, while the Minotaur Guard is the veteran warrior. They use melee.

The Minotaur Archer is the distance fighter. It shoots bolts at its target.

The Minotaur Mage is the mage. It shoots magic missiles and fire attacks at its target.

Orcs

The Orc Warlord is the leader of all Orcs. It uses melee and distance attacks.

The Orc Leader is the general of small Orc armies. It uses melee and distance attacks.

The Orc Berserker , Orc Warrior , Orc Rider and the Orc are the fighters. They stand in front.

In the back stand the Orc Spearman and the Orc Shaman . They make distance and magic attacks.

 NPCs

• Aruda, an NPC in Thais, may steal from you, depending on what you say to her. Everytime she says, "Sorry, I was distracted," it means that she has stolen some of your gold!

• The Vampire called Vladruc in Venore's Magic Shops can act differently when wearing a Garlic Necklace or when you use the Creature Illusion spell to change your form into that of a vampire.

• Merchants in Rookgaard will buy a Brass Armor for 150 gp, but, apparently, brass armors cannot be found on Rookgaard. This may be due to the fact that a Minotaur Mage, such as the one in Mino Hell, could drop Brass Armor when killed.

• If you ask Ashtamor in Venore about the "time", he will tell you what time it is, "but the true question is: How much time is left?"

• It is completely possible to set an NPC on your ignore list which can be done the same as any player say "hi" then right click on their response message and click ignore.

• There was a bug shortly after the update that introduced the city of Liberty Bay that you could start Sam's Old Backpack Quest with the weapons shopkeeper there, Cedrik! This was because CIP copied Sam's script for Cedrik, and forgot to remove that quest marker.

• The NPC Lector could be named after Hannibal Lector, the cannibal of the movie Hannibal. That would make sense if you know that Lector is the Meat vendor in Carlin.

Items

Writeables

• 
  You can write up to 1023 characters in most books/documents, except for labels which hold 79 characters, scrolls which hold 511 characters, and letters, which hold a massive 1999 characters. Blackboards hold 199 characters.

Medusa Shield

• 
  
  The face on the Medusa Shield, is the same as the one in the Stone Skin Amulet. This may be because of the legend that the snake-headed Medusa could turn you to stone with her gaze.

Rods and Wands

• 
  
  All Rods are directed vertically while the Wands are tilted right 45 degrees. Also, names or rods are always like "X rod", when names of wands are like "Wand of X".

Leftover arrows

• In Carlin, if you go to the second floor of the paladin guild (shooting range), there are 3 tables with arrows and bolts sitting on them. If you're a paladin and short on cash, collecting these leftovers can help you with your vocation.

Urine

• You can find urine in many places in Tibia. Usually in Troughs that serve as restrooms for Trolls, Orcs or Cyclopes. There is an apparent shortage of restrooms for humans in Tibia. At one time in the past players would also urinate if they drank to much liquid.

Watches

• No matter what the Tibian time is, the hands of a watch always show the same time, quarter to two.

Bodies

• After being killed, creature bodies are not movable for 10 seconds. Except for corpses which cannot be opened, like the Snake or the Cobra .

Blueberry and Gold

• Blueberries weigh twice as much as gold coins even though gold is very heavy in real life, and appears in-game to be much larger than a blueberry.

• Golden legs, Armor, and Helmet also seem to be lighter than most their counterparts, however Golden Boots appear to be the heaviest boots in the game, including the extremely heavy Steel Boots. They're so heavy in fact, they weigh the exact same amount as the Golden Helmet.

Frozen Starlight

• When an energy wand/rod like the Wand Of Vortex shot to a target, it looks if there would fly a Frozen Starlight.
• The star, hanging on the Elven Amulet , looks the same as the Frozen Starlight.

Castle Shield

• The crown on the Castle Shield appears to be the same as the one on the Purple Tome

Hunting Spear

• There was a short period directly after Updates/Update 8.0 when Hunting Spears already changed into stackable Distance Weapons and were dropped by Lizard Sentinels in large ammounts (up to eight of them at once!). In this period you could sell them to Brengus in Port Hope for the old price of 250 gold and make a lot of money while hunting Lizard Sentinels. Cip fixed this bug after some days and the price for hunting spears is now only 25 gp. Additional the drop rate was lowered.
