Cake Tasting Policy
*BRIDES: You may bring ONE guest with you to your tasting.*
If you must have another in attendance with you please clear it with me first.
I have a tiny kitchen and that doesn't leave much space for lots of people, plus
I set my table romantically for the bride and groom! Thanks!
Cake
tastings are for orders of 100 servings or more. For orders under 100
servings, you may still have a tasting, however, the price of the
tasting does not come off your total package amount.
Cake tastings are $30, payable by check or cash, due one week
before your appointment. If I have already prepared your sample and you
cancel, the amount is non-refundable, as it has been spent to create
your sample. It will be refunded if said items have not been prepared
yet.
Please understand that I prepare the cakes and fillings fresh for your
appointment and there
is a cost to that. Cakes are prepared as close to your appointment time
as possible, to ensure that you are tasting a fresh cake. I want you
to know how your cake will taste on your wedding day! When couples
cancel at the last minute or are
no-shows, this affects my expense in running my business. I
understand that sometimes things come up and appointments need
rescheduled …. I just ask that you let me know when that happens so I
will not prepare the cake samples for you and/or I can go ahead and
schedule
another couple in your time slot. I generally bake samples the evening
before a scheduled appointment, so if you could let me know before
then, that would be greatly appreciated. I will happily re-schedule
your
appointment for you. Your consideration is appreciated!
You may choose two (2) cake flavors and one (1) filling flavor OR one (1) cake flavor and two (2) fillings to sample.
Cakes are one layer 6" cakes. If you would like to sample other flavors, that can be done for an additional fee of $15 per flavor.
If
you book your event with me, $30 will come off the total price of your
cake. Canceled appointments do not get applied to the cost of the cake.
Deposit and Payment
20% of your total order is due on the day you book your date.
This 20% is your non-refundable deposit.
Out of the remaining balance, 50% is due two (2) weeks after you book along with your signed contract.
The
sooner I have your signed contract, the sooner I will refuse any other
wedding cake orders to insure that your cake has 110% of my attention.
The remaining amount is due, in cash or personal check, ONE MONTH before your event date.
No payment by the specified date = no cake.
The cancellation policy will be discussed at your appointment.
Delivery Info
All cakes are created in my home in Canton and are delivered and set up by me.
Delivery charges apply for both directions (to your event and then the return trip) and are as follows:
under 10 miles (per google maps)- no charge
10.1-15 miles - $3.00
15.1-20 miles - $5.00
20.1-25 miles - $8.00
25.1-30 miles - $12.00
30.1-35 miles - $15.00
35.1-40 miles - $18.00
After 40 miles add .50 per extra mile.
The actual delivery cost will be discussed at your consultation.
Due to Plain Township Zoning laws, ALL cakes must be delivered to the customer.
Zoning prohibits customers from picking up their cakes at my home.
