The Emerald Pipe Band

Welcome to the Emerald Pipe Band Website.

St. Patricks Day '07

Well, we did it. We have managed to turn out on Saint Patricks Day celebration 2007 and it was a blast. At first things weren't going to plan. Due to a miscommunication we couldn't find our teacher to tune our pipes and because we had to wait while we looked for him we had to do the march with the pipes in our hands. This wasn't planned but none the less looked very professional.

Heading up the road to market hill we encountered a difficulty. The wind was blowing over our banner and the two girls holding it. After a while the wind died down but then disaster, some clown (a real clown) walked straight into my drones knocking them clean out of tune. This meant we had to drop out of the parade early to get tuned up again. Fortunately we found out tutor and he tuned us up again ready for our performance.

After the parade made it back we waited for the stage to be set for the dignitaries and jumped in to perform; we were a little to eager, they hadn't finished yet but non-the-less we went ahead with our sets. This was a success and after some more confusion with the organisers we went our seperate ways for an hour. After meeting up for a traditional Irish Supper courtesy of the Luton Irish Forum (Thankyou) we decided to go homes and rest our very tired selves.

Thanks to all those who have supported us for the last 4 years and I hope we the band see you soon.
