Who or what was our Savior before His human birth? There are different ideas in the world concerning the nature of Yah’shua [contraction of YahwehShua, also His prophetic human name] the Messiah: There are three main ideas: One is that Yah’shua preexisted eternally; two, that He preexisted but was a product of creation, and three, that He came into being as a human and was given immortality. Not everyone can be correct. I think if we look at the Scriptures to see what Yah’shua was, and if He existed before with the Father, they it will give us a better understanding of the sacrifice that was actually offered up. This study is concerned mainly with the first and second of these views.
The Book of John is an absolute powerhouse concerning some of the insights concerning the nature of Yah’shua. Remember John was that disciple whom Yah’shua loved and that there was a very close bond between them - a close camaraderie - a very effective bonding of two men who loved each other very much. John had a certain insight, a certain perception, about Yah’shua the Messiah that some of the other disciples and apostles didn't really have. So he speaks more concerning the nature of Yah’shua the Messiah than do the other three Evangels. Let’s take a look at John 17 and let’s pick up in verse 1
"These words spake Yah’shua and lifted up His eyes to heaven and said, ‘Father the hour is come; glorify Thy Son that Thy Son may also glorify Thee as Thou hast given Him power over all flesh that He should give eternal life to as many as Thou has given Him. And this is life eternal, that they might know Thee (or the Father), the only true Elohim, and Yah’shua the Messiah Whom Thou has sent. I have glorified Thee on earth. I have finished the work which Thou gavest Me to do, and now Oh Father glorify Thou Me with Thine own Self with the glory which I had with Thee before the world was.’"
We can very plainly see here that Yah’shua the Messiah, unless He was an absolute fraud, had previously existed with the Father and that He is asking the Father to glorify Him so that He, (that is) Yah’shua, can return that glory unto the Father YAHWEH. We might bear in mind that many times YAHWEH clearly says that His Name is glorious, or to glorify His Name. Rabbi Yah'shua is clearly referring to attaining the glory of the Sacred Name - YAHWEH! Thus at His resurrection He
inherited the full name YAHWEH (Heb 1:4), and was known as YahwehShua. The Apostle Paul also had a very unique insight to the nature of Yah’shua the Messiah because he was taught of Messiah directly. After he was called by YahwehShua, he was instructed of Him for about the space of three years. He affirmed this unto the other apostles that he wasn't taught the Evangel after men but that he had learned it directly from YahwehShua the Messiah.
Paul has some things to say also concerning the nature of Yah’shua the Messiah in Colossians 1 beginning in verse 9;
"For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and desire that you might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that you might walk worthy of the Master unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of YAHWEH; strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; giving thanks unto the Father which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the Kingdom of His dear Son; in Whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins."
The Nature Of Yah’shua
The Apostle Paul now enters into the nature of YahwehShua the Messiah. Leading up to this Paul is clearly talking about YahwehShua and it’s through Him that we have redemption
Who is the image of the invisible YAHWEH, the Firstborn of every creature: For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him: And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist. And He is the Head of the Body, the Assembly: Who is the beginning, the Firstborn from the dead; that in all things He may have the preeminence.
We note, or we have at least two (2) testimonies here that He preexisted with the Father. The Apostle Paul says that He was before all things and he enumerates some of the things that had come into being. I want to come back to that in a second, but first let’s turn to John the first Chapter, John 1 and verse 1 is very familiar to nearly every student of the Bible, but John 1:1 has a way of stating it that isn't entirely clear. We read:
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with Elohim, and the Word was Elohim."
The actual Greek I believe says -
"In the beginning was the Word and The Word was with
-or toward-showing direction and a special closeness and relationship with) YAHWEH, and Elohim was the Word."Now in the Greek manuscripts the word ‘Elohim’ is not there; we all recognize that. What is there is theos. Now if we take theos (with the definite article) to be a proper name, then the term should be YAHWEH. The term theos if we take it to be a title, (without the definite article), then we would use Elohim. I have chosen Elohim for this particular passage because the second usage is not preceded by the definite article, and to allay the fears of some, at least at this point, that would think that I would have the audacity - not rather I, but the writers of the Scriptures - would have the audacity to say that the Word was YAHWEH.
We will, for the time being, put Elohim in this particular place.
"The same was in the beginning with Elohim. All things were made by Him; [speaking of, again, the Word] and without Him was not anything made that was made."
This corresponds to Colossians 1 where we read the description that Paul gave where Messiah was before all things. The connotation in Colossians 1 which is clearly that before anything was formed, Yah’shua existed, and He is the direct cause of all created things. Paul lists all these created things in Colossians 1:16:
"And all things in heaven, earth, visible or invisible; thrones, dominions, principalities or powers."
There are no other created things according to Paul, and Paul was taught directly by YahwehShua Himself. Could it be that Messiah Himself is excluded from all things? Would that make Him self-existent?
IN THE HEBREW SCRIPTURES
First, it will help to see what Messiah was known as in the Old Testament. Since those who knew Him personally, ascribed to Him the role of Creator, we’ll start there. Let’s turn to Genesis the first chapter. In Genesis 1 beginning in verse, we’re told that
"In the beginning Elohim created the heaven and the earth."
The Hebrew word for Elohim is incorrectly rendered in our English King James Version and other versions as "
G-o-d"; we know that is incorrect. In most instances does not reflect the true Hebrew concept of power or might which the Hebrew term expresses. Of course we know that the Hebrew is Elohim, for we find the term Elohim to be an all-encompassing term to describe power, strength or that which possesses power or strength. From sticks and stones of idols and demons, to YAHWEH, elohim is descriptive of that which has power over others. It is an all-inclusive term, therefore, for a person to say "I worship Elohim" makes little or no sense unless you tell or describe what "elohim" it is that you worship. Elohim is descriptive of that which has power over others, whether real or only in the minds of the subjugated. A person - a primitive person, that would worship a stock of wood or stone believes that inanimate object has power over him and because he believes it; therefore, it exists, even in his own mind, because he has subjugated himself to it.
Since elohim is a collective noun all that is ascribed to it may be more than one in number. Elohim is a collective noun. Some have described it as a "plural unity", if you can use that form of English, but I prefer "collective noun". It conveys a similar connotation as "group". For example the word "group" conveys the meaning that there are a number of individuals gathered together that form a recognizable unit.
Individuals are usually classified together because of common characteristics and/or interests. The best illustration of a group that we have is a family. It contains many members yet remains a single unit and shares a common family name. In that respect the Body of Messiah is a group; yet it is only one body. There are many members and we all bear the same family Name - the family Name of YAHWEH. So if we understand elohim to be a group containing certain characteristics, then the defining factors attached to or are used in conjunction with the Name, or the term ‘elohim’ - define just what group, kind or type of group we are referring to. Therefore, the term YAHWEH Elohim stands distinct from all other elohim.
We’re told that the idols of the nations, the "elohim" of the nations, are but nothings. They’re nothingness; that’s what the term means. In comparison to the transcendent greatness of YAHWEH they just really don't exist; but they do exist in the mind of the people that worship them. So YAHWEH stands as a distinct descriptive term of a particular type of elohim. And it is YAHWEH Elohim that created all things.
Let’s turn to Psalm 104. In the 104th Psalm and other places I’ll be referring to, right here briefly, is that we will find that the one that actually spoke, that said, "
Let there be light", was YAHWEH. The one that spoke was YAHWEH and we will see this. In Psalm 104 and verse 24:"Oh YAHWEH, how manifold are Thy works! In wisdom hast Thou made them all: The earth is full of Thy riches."
Dropping down to verse 30:
"Thou sendest forth Thy Spirit, they are created: and Thou renewest the face of the earth. The glory of YAHWEH shall endure forever: YAHWEH shall rejoice in His works."
If we go back to Genesis the second chapter we can see that Who was actually doing the works. In Genesis 2 beginning in verse 1,
"Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them."
We just read in Psalm 104 YAHWEH rejoices in His works. And here we are finding that it is the works of creation.
"And on the 7th day Elohim ended His work which He had made; and He rested the 7th day from all His work which He had made. And Elohim blessed the 7th day, and sanctified it: because that in it He had rested from all His work which Elohim created and made. These are the generations of the heaven and of the earth when they were created, in the day that YAHWEH Elohim made the earth and the heavens, And every plant of the field which was before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for YAHWEH Elohim had not caused it to rain upon the earth and there was not a man to till the ground. But there went up a mist from the ground and watered the whole face of the ground. And YAHWEH Elohim formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul."
So according to Genesis 2 that it was YAHWEH Who made these things and rejoices in them.
Let’s notice next in Jeremiah the 27th Chapter - Jeremiah 27 verses 4 & 5:
"And command them to say unto their masters, thus saith YAHWEH of Hosts, the Elohim of Israel; Thus shall you say unto your masters; ‘I have made the earth, and the beasts that are upon the ground, by My great power and My outstretched arm, I have given it unto whom it seemed meet unto Me.’"
So here Jeremiah in Chapter 27 verifies the fact that it was YAHWEH Who created the earth by His great power.
We remember in Genesis 1 that the Spirit of YAHWEH moved across the face of the earth and that it transformed the face of the earth into something that was again habitable. Notice in Isaiah 45 and verse 12:
"I have made the earth and created man upon it: I, even My hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their hosts have I commanded."
Who was this? Let’s look in verse 11
"Thus saith YAHWEH, the Holy One of Israel, and his [Israel's] maker, ‘ask Me of things to come concerning My sons, and considering the work of My hands command ye Me. I have made the earth.’"
Who is speaking? YAHWEH the Holy One of Israel. Okay let’s go back over to Jeremiah Chapter 32 this time - Jeremiah 32 - let’s notice verses 17 & 18. Jeremiah 32 verse 17:
"Ah YAHWEH Elohim! behold, Thou hast made the heavens and the earth by Thy Great Power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for Thee. Thou showest lovingkindness unto thousands, and recompense the iniquity of the fathers unto the bosom of their children after them: the Great, the Mighty El, YAHWEH of Hosts, is His Name."
And again in Isaiah 42 verses 5 & 6 - Isaiah 42 verses 5 & 6:
"Thus saith El YAHWEH, He that created the heavens."
In the same context of creating and stretching out the heavens the same YAHWEH also created man. And in Genesis 2 we read that it was YAHWEH Elohim that created man and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life.
"YAHWEH have called Thee in righteousness, and will hold Thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the gentiles."
And in Chapter 45 and verse 18.
"For thus saith YAHWEH that created the heavens; Elohim Himself that formed the earth and made it; He that established it, He created it not in vain, He formed it to be inhabited: I am YAHWEH.:"
Thus far we have seen that YAHWEH Elohim created the heaven and the earth. He created man and everything that’s upon the earth. We have also seen that those who knew Messiah said that He was the creating agent.
A QUESTION OF ANGELS
YAHWEH is Creator, but couldn't He have had a special agent - couldn't He have had a special agent like an angel or something inferior to Himself to have done the creating? Let’s ask ourselves some questions.
What does the Name YAHWEH represent? What are some of the characteristics of YAHWEH? Let’s turn to Exodus the 34th chapter - Exodus 34:14, and let’s notice:
"For thou shalt worship no other elohim; for YAHWEH, Whose Name is Zealous, is a Zealous El."
- (zealous: from 7065. qana’, kaw-naw’; a prim. root; to be (caus. make) zealous, i.e. (in a bad sense) jealous or envious: - (be) envy (-ious), be (move to, provoke to) jealous (-y), X very, (be) zeal (-ous).) YAHWEH doesn't consider His name in any bad sense, therefore "zealous" is to be read.
To worship any thing other than YAHWEH is idolatry!
Let me repeat that - to worship anything other than YAHWEH is idolatry. So what does it mean that His Name is zealous? We can find an explanation of that in Ezekiel Chapter 39 - Ezekiel Chapter 39 and verse 25,
"Therefore thus saith YAHWEH Elohim; Now will I bring the captivity of Jacob, and have mercy upon the whole house of Israel, and I will be jealous for My Holy Name."
His Name was not "jealous" but He is zealous in a positive way for His Name. And as we have already seen YAHWEH demands exclusive worship. To worship anything other than YAHWEH would be idolatry as I said. Only YAHWEH Elohim may be worshiped - and that includes HIS Holy Name. Let’s notice how YAHWEH looks upon His Name in Psalm 72:17-19.
"His Name shall endure forever (the ages): His Name shall be continued as long as the sun: And man shall be blessed in Him: all nations shall call Him blessed. Blessed be YAHWEH Elohim, the Elohim of Israel, Who only doeth wonderful things. And blessed be His glorious name for ever (the ages): And let the whole earth be filled with His glory: Amen, and Amen"
A MATTER OF GLORY & WORSHIP
"Give unto YAHWEH the glory due unto His Name; Worship YAHWEH in the beauty of holiness." Psalm 29 verse 2
We find in many passages that YAHWEH’s Name is connected with His glory. There is an understanding among Jews that according to their idea or concept of creation that they said when YAHWEH uttered His Name that creation came to be. That at the utterance of His Name all things were created. It shows how important or how exalted the Jews believe YAHWEH considers His Holy Name. A good study sometime would be to see what is holy and how YAHWEH ascribes holiness, and what He expects in return. But be that as it may, we’re going to be looking right now in Psalm 79:9 concerning the glory of YAHWEH and how that is attached to His Name. Psalm 79 and verse 9
"Help us, O Elohim of our salvation, for the glory of thy name: and deliver us, and purge away our sins, for thy name’s sake."
But bear in mind sins must be purged through the Name of YAHWEH. YAHWEH can forgive and does forgive sins for His Name’s sake. There is glory in His Name and in His Name sins can be purged or be removed.
Isaiah 42 - Isaiah Chapter 42:8, YAHWEH is very zealous for His Name, we know. He reserves that glory and He reserves that honor and majesty only to Himself for in Isaiah 42:8 we read,
"I am YAHWEH: that is My Name: and My glory will I not give to another, neither My praise to graven images."
And if that isn't enough for some people let’s turn over to Isaiah 48:11,
"For Mine own sake, even for Mine own sake, will I do it: for how should My Name be polluted? and I will not give My glory unto another."
We are to worship YAHWEH, and the glory that is in, and attached to Him by His Name, He states that He will not give to another nobody else - no one or no thing.
I’d like to regress at this point. We said that we are not supposed to worship any other Elohim except YAHWEH. I would like to point out a couple of things that YAHWEH considers worship in Psalm 95 - Psalm 95. We are told that those who fall down worship. Psalm 95:6. We read:
"Oh come, let us worship and bow down: Let us kneel before YAHWEH our Maker."
Bowing down and kneeling is an act of worship. We can see this also in Daniel the third Chapter in Daniel 3 (beginning in verse 6). Here the writer is accounting the account that all men in Babylon were supposed to worship this image that Nebuchadnezzar had set up. And he says
"Whoso falleth not down and worship shall the same hour be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace. Therefore at that time, when all the people heard the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and other kinds of music, all the people, the nations, and the languages, fell down and worshiped the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar set up."
Well, there were some in that kingdom that knew to bow down was an act of worship. They also knew that to worship anything other than YAHWEH was punishable by death, death by fire. They were determined not to do that even if it meant giving up their own physical lives.
Let’s drop down to verse 14
"Nebuchadnezzar spoke and said unto them, ‘Is it true oh Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, do not you serve my ‘elahh, nor worship the golden image which I have set up? Now if you be ready that at what time you hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery and dulcimer, and all kinds of music, you fall down and worship the image which I have made; well (or it’ll be well for you): but if you worship not, you shall be cast the same hour in the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and who is that ‘elahh that shall deliver you out of my hands?’"
["elahh" - The Mighty]Faced with certain death, three of YAHWEH’s faithful refused to bow to the dictates of men and worship the created thing.
"If it be so, our Elohim Whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning firey furnace, and He will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy elohim, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up."
So bowing down, we see, is very much an act of worship. Isaiah also says in Isaiah 46 and verse 6 much the same thing, Isaiah 46 and verse 6,
"They lavish gold out of the bag, and weigh silver in the balance, and hire a goldsmith; and he maketh it a god."
I use the term in the English, "
g-o-d" [How God Replaced YAWHEH], because in Isaiah 65 the proper name in Hebrew of one that they were bowing down to, g-o-d, IS used of an elohim - a mighty one who was really nothing. For YAHWEH is more powerful than all."But they fall down; yea they worship."
So it really doesn't matter whether it’s an inanimate object, or whether it’s a person, or whether it’s an idea, or a concept, or a system, or anything: if it isn't YAHWEH you will be held accountable.
Let’s notice Psalm 45 and verse 11 - Psalm 45 verse 11,
"So shall the king greatly desire Thy beauty: For He is YAHWEH; and worship thou Him."
It is to YAHWEH that we devote our worship. I think I’ve pretty much established the fact that YAHWEH is to be worshipped, but there are some curious instances in the New Testament like Matthew the 8th Chapter and verse 2.
WAS "Yah’shua" WORSHIPED?
"And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped Him, [Yah’shua] saying, ‘Master, if Thou wilt, Thou canst make me clean. ‘ And Yah’shua put forth His hand, and touched Him, saying, ‘I will; be thou clean’, and immediately his leprosy was cleansed."
Bowing down in this manner is an act of worship, and here we find someone that recognized Yah’shua’s authority, came, and did just that very same thing. What was Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego’s hangup? I mean if it was only an image and it really didn't mean anything then why did they jeopardize their lives? Why didn't they simply comply with the ‘government’, to bow down and worship that image? It was forbidden; they could only worship YAHWEH.
But here one comes and does the very same thing to Yah’shua the MESSIAH! Does Yah’shua say, "No, don't do that?" No. He simply says "I will", and He performs the act.
Perhaps Yah’shua didn't quite understand what was happening. Not so, He completely understood the full implications of what was occurring, because we see in Mat 4:9-10 His own use of the word proskuneo.
And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. Then saith Yah’shua unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship YAHWEH thy Elohim, and him only shalt thou serve.
Not only did Yah’shua understand the implications, He was also using verbal jujitsu on the Adversary. Satan was saying ‘worship me’, but Yah’shua turned it around, saying, ‘No, you worship ME!’ Why? Because, Yah’shua WAS the YAHWEH of the Hebrew Scriptures! We know this because we are told three times that no one has ever seen the Father:
No man hath seen YAHWEH at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him. [John 1:18]
And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape. [John 5:37]
Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of Elohim, he hath seen the Father. [John 6:46]
Yet the YAHWEH of the Hebrew Scriptures WAS seen and heard. . . and WORSHIPPED!
In Chapter 9 and in verse 18 in Matthew,
"While He spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped Him, saying, ‘my daughter is even now dead: but come and lay Thy hand upon her, and she shall live’. And Yah’shua arose, and followed Him, and so did His disciples."
And He came, and He touched her, and she lived. He imparted life unto the ruler’s daughter. Here again, we see this man who obviously should have known better came and worshipped Yah’shua the MESSIAH. Let’s notice in Matthew 14th chapter - Matthew 14 and verse 33, This is when Yah’shua had come to his disciples into the ship. This is at the same time when Peter was bid to come out upon the water, and Peter walked upon the water, until he looked around and became afraid. But when Yah’shua came unto the ship the wind ceased and verse 33 it says,
"They that were in the ship came and worshipped Him, saying, ‘Of a truth Thou are the Son of YAHWEH."
Thou art the Son of YAHWEH. . . . Being a son entitled that son to his father's name, and an inheritance! Therefore, when Yah'shua was immersed and received the holy spirit, there was an acknowledgement that He was The Son of YAHWEH...and held title to the sacred name as His own! Continuing...
Thus far, we know that YAHWEH is only supposed to be worshipped, but yet we find instances in the New Testament where Yah’shua was worshipped. Why would that be? Let’s turn over to Philippians 2:10, we read that...
"At [in] the Name of
Yah(weh)shua every knee should bow of things in heaven, and things in earth and things under the earth and every tongue that should confess that Yah’shua the MESSIAH is Sovereign to the glory of YAHWEH the Father."Here we are frankly told that we are to bow the knees as an act of worship unto Yah’shua the MESSIAH. This is a direct reference from YAHWEH concerning Himself as recorded by Isaiah (45:23):
"I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear."
Now so far what we have gathered from the Scriptures is that YAHWEH is to be worshipped and that worship is exclusive to YAHWEH Elohim. But we find that we are also to worship Yah’shua the Messiah. In fact that was done with no apparent contradiction by Yah’shua Himself, whereas when an angel appeared and someone bowed down they were always told to rise saying ‘don't worship me, worship YAHWEH’.
WAS Yah’shua AN ANGEL?
Speaking of angels let’s go on to Exodus 23. There are some that feel that Yah’shua the MESSIAH was something less than YAHWEH. In Exodus 23 there are those that will explain that an angel - a created being, a created thing - a mere servant of mankind was worthy to be worshipped. Let’s read Exodus 23 verses 20-25,
"Behold I send an angel before thee to keep thee in the way and to bring unto the place which I have prepared. Beware of him and obey his voice, provoke him not for he will not pardon your transgressions for my Name is in Him. But if thou shalt indeed obey his voice and do all that I speak then I will be an enemy to thine enemies and an adversary unto thine adversaries for My angel shall go before thee and bring thee unto the Amorites and Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Canaanites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites: and I will cut them off. Thou shalt not bow down unto their elohim nor serve them after their works but thou shalt utterly overthrow them and their images. And you shall serve YAHWEH your Elohim and He shall bless thy bread and thy water."
Let’s go back to verse 13 in this chapter - verse thirteen
"And in all things that I have said unto you be circumspect and make no mention of the names of other elohim neither let it be heard out of thy mouth."
There is the belief that this angel of YAHWEH was the one that actually did the creating. Perhaps, perhaps not. But it very plainly says that you are to worship YAHWEH. So what exactly was this angel? First, let’s notice that it was YAHWEH speaking. Let’s notice in Genesis 22 a very related passage, beginning in verse 11 - Genesis 22 and verse 11.
"And the angel of YAHWEH called unto him out of heaven and said, ‘Abraham, Abraham’, and he said, ‘Lay not thine hand upon the lad neither do thou anything unto him. For now I know that thou feareth Elohim seeing that thou has not withheld thy son - thine only son from me. ‘"
‘Me’ is the angel of YAHWEH that is speaking.
"And Abraham lifted up his eyes and looked and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered it up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son. And Abraham called the name of that place Yahweh-yireh, as it is it is said today, It is the mount of YAHWEH; it shall be seen. And the angel of YAHWEH called unto Abraham out of heaven a second time and said, ‘by myself have I sworn, saith YAHWEH, for because thou has done this thing and hast not withheld thy son that in blessing I will bless thee and in multiplying I will multiply thee as the stars of the heaven.’"
The messenger in this instance cannot rightly be identified. There is no direct contact; there is only speech. In verse 16 we read and he says,
"And by myself have I sworn saith YAHWEH for because thou hast done this thing and not withheld thine only son".
He is saying that the messenger is speaking or coming from YAHWEH or perhaps an angel and is therefore inconclusive.
So we really haven't solved the problem just as yet, but let’s notice in Chapter 24 and verse and verse seven,
"YAHWEH
Elohim of heaven which took me from my father’s house and from the land of my kindred and which spake unto me has sweared unto me saying, unto thy seed will I give this land. You shall send His angel before thee and thou shalt take a wife unto thy son." . . . "And he said unto me, YAHWEH therefore before Whom I walk will send His angel with thee and prosper by the way. That thou shalt take a wife for my son, for my kindred and for my father."Who was the leader? Who was the one leading? Let’s notice in verse 27,
"And he said blessed be YAHWEH Elohim of my master Abraham, who hath not left destitute my master of his mercy and his truth: I being in the way, YAHWEH led me to the house of my master’s brethren."
And again in verse 48,
"And I bowed down my head and worshipped YAHWEH. And blessed YAHWEH Elohim of my master Which had lead me in the right way to take my master’s brother, my brother’s daughter unto his son."
So we see the one that was actually doing the leading was named YAHWEH. And in Chapter 31 in Genesis beginning in verse 11 - 31 verse 11,
"And the angel of Elohim spake unto me in a dream saying, Jacob, and I said here am I, and he said lift up now thine eyes and see, for all the rams which leap upon the cattle are ringstreaked, speckled and grisled: for I have seen all that Laban doeth unto thee? I am El of Beth-el, where thou anointedst the pillar, and where thou vowedst a vow unto Me: now arise, get thee out from this land, and return unto the land of thy kindred."
So here we say in verse 11 it says the angel of Elohim spoke that he was the El of Beth-el. So who was the El, who was this angel that spoke? Well let’s turn back a couple of chapters to Chapter 28 - Genesis 28, verse 10, we read the actual account,
"And Jacob went out from Beersheba and went toward Paran. And he lighted upon a certain place and tarried there all night because the sun was set and he took a stone-took other stones of that place and put them for his pillows and lay down in that place to sleep. And he dreamed and behold a ladder set upon the earth and the top of it reached unto heaven. And behold the angels of Elohim ascending and descending on it. And behold YAHWEH stood above it and said, ‘I am YAHWEH Elohim of Abraham thy father and the Elohim of Isaac. The land where on thou liest to thee will I give it and to thy seed.’"
The elohim or the angel of Beth-El, the angel that was the El of Beth-El, is identified as YAHWEH. Let’s notice in Exodus 14 - In Exodus 14 and verse 19
"And YAHWEH shall fight for you and you shall hold your peace". And YAHWEH said unto Moses, ‘Wherefore crieth thou unto me? Speak unto the children of Israel that they go forward’". [In verse 24], "And it came to pass that in the morning watch YAHWEH looked unto the host of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and of the cloud and troubled the host of the Egyptians."
The angel that was in the pillar of fire that lead Israel and protected Israel in the wilderness here is identified YAHWEH Elohim.
YAHWEH THE REDEEMER/SAVIOR
Let’s turn back to Genesis the 48th Chapter - Genesis 48, verse 16,
"The angel which redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; and let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers, Abraham and Isaac: and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth."
Who is the messenger or the angel that redeems? Let’s turn to Psalm 19 - Psalm 19 and let’s see what YAHWEH has inspired concerning who redeems Jacob - Psalm 19 and verse 14,
"Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart in thy sight, O YAHWEH my Strength, and my Redeemer."
And again in Psalm 78 verse 35,
"And they remembered that Elohim was their Rock and the High El their Redeemer."
And in Isaiah 41 we read verses 13 and 14 - Isaiah 41 verses 13 and 14,
"For I, YAHWEH thy Elohim, will hold thy right hand and saying unto thee, fear not; I will help thee. Fear not thou worm Jacob and ye men of Israel; I will help thee saith YAHWEH, and thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel."
And in Isaiah 43 verses 11-15, we see who the Redeemer-Savior is,
"I, even I am YAHWEH and beside Me there is no Saviour
. [Beside Me there is no Saviour]. I have declared and have saved and I have showed that there was no strange el among you. For you are My witnesses. Yea before the day was I am He and there is none that can deliver out of My hand. I will work and who shall let it?" Thus saith YAHWEH your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, ‘For your sake I have sent to Babylon and have brought down all their nobles and the Chaldeans whose cry is in the ships’".And again in Isaiah 44 and verse 6,
"Thus saith YAHWEH, the King of Israel and His Redeemer, YAHWEH of Hosts, ‘I am the first and I am the last. Beside Me there is no Elohim. ‘"
And Isaiah 47 and verse 4,
"As for our Redeemer, YAHWEH of Hosts is His Name, the Holy One of Israel." And in Isaiah 48 verse 17,"Thus saith YAHWEH, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, ‘I am YAHWEH thy Elohim Which teacheth thee to profit Which leadeth thee by the way that Thou shouldest go."
And in 49 in Chapter 49 and verse 26 we read,
"And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh and they shall be drunken with their own blood as with sweet wine. And all flesh shall know that I YAHWEH am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob."
In case we haven't gotten the picture yet, YAHWEH is the Saviour; He is the Redeemer and besides Him there is none else. Isaiah 48 verse 20, you don't have to turn there but it says,
"Go ye forth from Babylon, flee ye from the Chaldeans. With a voice of singing declare ye; tell this that unto the ends of the earth say ye YAHWEH has redeemed His servant Jacob."
And in Isaiah 60 verse 16-Isaiah 60 and verse 16 - "
Thou shalt also suck the milk of the Gentiles and shall suck the breast of kings. And thou shalt know that I, YAHWEH am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer - the Mighty One of Jacob.
And again in Jeremiah 50 verse 34 Jeremiah 50 & verse 34:
"There Redeemer is strong: YAHWEH of Hosts is His Name: He shall thoroughly plead their cause, that He may give rest to the land, and disquiet the inhabitants of Babylon."
Malawk
It would be or should be apparent that YAHWEH Himself is the Savior. Yet there are some that still can't grasp that concept. Let’s turn over to Genesis and the 11th Chapter verse 5, we see a rather unique statement from verses five to nine.
"And YAHWEH came down to see the city and the tower which the children of men buildeth. And YAHWEH said, ‘Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language;’. . . YAHWEH said, ‘let us go down that they may not understand one another’s speech’. So YAHWEH scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of the earth: and from thence did YAHWEH scatter them abroad - the face of all the earth."
YAHWEH said "let us go down". Could there have been more than one YAHWEH at that point? Let’s turn over to Genesis the 19th Chapter - Genesis 19 and let’s look at verse 24 - Genesis 19 and verse 24.
"Then YAHWEH rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from YAHWEH out of heaven;" Gen.19:24
- a YAHWEH upon earth and a YAHWEH in heaven.
Some have misunderstood the term angel in the Old Testament as always applying to a supernatural type of being. That is not always the case; that is not always the case: it simply means ‘messenger’. And where there are no identifying terms, sometimes it’s difficult to tell what kind of messenger it is. But I’d like to talk about a messenger - the messenger of YAHWEH - this malawk as it’s called wherever you see the term angel. The term ‘malawk’ simply means ‘messenger’. There’s a description of this messenger of YAHWEH in Malachi the third chapter, verse 1:
"Behold I will send My messenger and he shall prepare the way before Me. And ha-Adon of whom you seek shall suddenly come to His temple even the messenger of the Covenant whom you delight in. Behold he shall come saith YAHWEH of Hosts."
This messenger or malawk - the first messenger who is sent that "shall prepare the way before Me" - we know from Matthew 11 and the other Evangels that John came and prepared the way before Yah’shua [His prophetic name] the MESSIAH. But who was he preparing the way for? In Malachi 3:1, he says "Me" and at the end of verse one it says "saith YAHWEH of Hosts". But who is ‘Me’? Well, let’s back up first to Ha-Adon whom you seek; what is Ha-Adon commonly printed in the King James as ‘the Lord’ - not coming from the tetragrammaton - but from a different word. "Ha-Adon" whom you seek shall suddenly come to (where? what?) - His temple. Even the messenger (the malawk) of the Covenant saith YAHWEH of Hosts - YAHWEH Saboath. The ‘I’, the ‘Me’, and the Ha-Adon are all the messenger that refer to YAHWEH. If we go back and we see that Who it was that made the Covenant with the people of Israel upon Mt. Sinai; we know that it was YAHWEH Elohim. And it was YAHWEH that was among Israel when dwelling in the temple and in the tabernacle. Let’s turn over to Deuteronomy the fourth chapter - Deuteronomy 4 verses 12-13:
"And YAHWEH spake unto you out of the midst of the fire. You heard the voice of the words but saw no similitude only you heard a voice. And he declared unto you His Covenant which He commanded you to perform even Ten Commandments. And He wrote them upon two tables of stone."
So the messenger of the Covenant, or the One that brought the message was YAHWEH Elohim, HE spoke unto Israel. So there are two messengers mentioned in Malachi 1. One meaning the One that would come and prepare the way for the messenger of the Covenant Who was YAHWEH Elohim. We know that John the Baptist prepared the way for Yah’shua; and if that is a fulfillment of the one that came to prepare the way that it would seem, wouldn't it, that messenger prepared the way for YAHWEH Who we know as Yah’shua the MESSIAH.
Let’s notice Isaiah 40 - Isaiah Chapter 40 and verse three (3) where we read about that prophecy. Isaiah 40 and verse three (3).
"The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, prepare you the way of YAHWEH make strait in the desert a highway for our Elohim."
Who was the way prepared for if it wasn't Yah’shua the MESSIAH? If you believe that Scripture was fulfilled in Yah’shua, then you must acknowledge that He did preexist as YAHWEH. YAHWEH was Ha-Adon, (c.f. Ps 8:1,9). YAHWEH was also Malawk - the Messenger of YAHWEH.
CHARACTERISTICS OF HA-SHEM
I said before that we would look at some of the characteristics of YAHWEH Elohim. One of the characteristics of YAHWEH is His eternity. YAHWEH’s Name by definition means that HE causes to be. And by extension HE must be before any created thing or have been at a time before anything existed. Consequently HE is no created thing, just as Paul stated in Colossians 1. But let’s look at some of the affirmations concerning Himself - where YAHWEH describes Himself.
In Deuteronomy 32 - Deuteronomy 32 verses 39 & 40,
"See now that I, even I am HE and there is no Elohim with Me. I kill; I make alive. I wound and I heal. Neither is there any that can deliver out of My hand for I lift up My hand to Heaven and say I live forever (the ages)."
Also in Daniel the 12th chapter - Daniel 12, verse 7,
"And I heard the man clothed in linen that was upon the waters of the river and he held up his right hand and left hand up unto heaven and swear by Him that liveth forever (the ages)."
So one of the characteristics of YAHWEH is that HE does have life eternally - life without end in both directions. Let’s notice Exodus and the fifteenth chapter Exodus 15 verse 18:
"YAHWEH shall reign forever and ever (ages upon ages)."
And in Psalm 90 and verse two, we read,
"Before the mountains were brought forth or ever Thou hast formed the earth and the world even from everlasting to everlasting (ages unto ages) Thou art Elohim."
And in Deuteronomy 33 and verse 27, we’re again told,
"And the eternal Elohim is thy refuge and underneath are the everlasting (age abiding) arms and He shall thrust out the enemy from before thee and shall say, destroy them."
Eternal is from Strong’s no. 6924. qedem, keh’-dem; or qedmah, kayd’-maw; from H6923; the front, of place (absol. the fore part, rel. the East) or time (antiquity); often used adv. (before, anciently, eastward): - aforetime, ancient (time), before, east (end, part, side, -ward), eternal, X ever (-lasting), forward, old, past.
There are numerous Scriptures. . . the Bible is absolutely filled with statements saying that YAHWEH is eternal. In Genesis 21:33 we are told that
"Abraham planted a grove or trees in Beersheba and called there upon the Name of YAHWEH, the Everlasting (age-abiding) EL".
Let’s notice one more quick verse in Isaiah 57 and verse 15,
"For thus saith the High and Lofty One that inhabited eternity Whose Name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place. With him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit to revive the spirit of the humble and to revive the heart of the contrite ones."
Eternity is from the Hebrew ad, and is defined in Strong’s Hebrew Dictionary this way; [5703. ‘ad, ad; from H5710; prop. a (peremptory) terminus, I. e. (by impl. ) duration, in the sense of advance or perpetuity (substantially as a noun, either with or without a prep. ): - eternity, ever (-lasting, -more), old, perpetually, + world without end. ].
Notice that YAHWEH inhabits eternity He wraps Himself around it and He is intimately familiar with it. So the Name YAHWEH represents that which exists without beginning or ending - forever. THEY exist. YAHWEH IS. YAHWEH could not bear the Name YAHWEH unless they were eternal.
ECHOD
I say "they" because Elohim consists of more than one entity. If not, then the use of Elohim is totally incorrect. You could only read the singular which would be El. And that would make many or most of the statements concerning YAHWEH where HE speaks in the plural or it is spoken of in the plural as being nonsensical. Let’s notice in Deuteronomy 6 and verse 4 - Deuteronomy 6 and verse 4, we are told,
"Hear O Israel, YAHWEH our Elohim is YAHWEH One."
The word ‘One" is from the Hebrew, echod. Strong’s Hebrew Dictionary describes echod this way: ‘echad, ekh-awd’; a numeral from H258; prop. united, I. e. one; or (as an ordinal) first: - a, alike, alone, altogether, and, any (-thing), apiece, a certain [dai-] ly, each (one), + eleven, every, few, first, + highway, a man, once, one, only, other, some, together.
Echod
is often used to desciribe a group unity, for example in Gen 2:24"Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be (echod) one flesh."
This is stated also in Mat 19:5-6
"And said, ‘For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore Elohim hath joined together, let not man put asunder. ‘" (cf. Mk 10:8-9).
The concept of uniting two into one is certainly one of the greatest mysteries in the universe. Not only are a husband and wife partakers of this mystery union, but it is also seen in uniting Gentile and Jew into one body: Eph 2:15
"Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace".
Echod
is used 9 times for the number eleven, for example:And he rose up that night, and took his two wives, and his two women servants, and his eleven sons, and passed over the ford Jabbok. [Gen 32:22]
And he dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me. [Gen 37:9]
(There are eleven days’ journey from Horeb by the way of mount Seir unto Kadeshbarnea. ) [Deu 1:2]
And of course the many times that a large group is referred to as "one".
And YAHWEH said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. [Gen 11:6]
Then will we give our daughters unto you, and we will take your daughters to us, and we will dwell with you, and we will become one people. [Gen 34:16]
Only herein will the men consent unto us for to dwell with us, to be one people, if every male among us be circumcised, as they are circumcised. [Gen 34:22]
And Joseph said unto Pharaoh, The dream of Pharaoh is one (there were two dreams): Elohim hath showed Pharaoh what he is about to do. [Gen 41:25]
And Moses came and told the people all the words of YAHWEH, and all the judgments: and all the people answered with one voice, and said, All the words which YAHWEH hath said will we do. [Exo 24:3]
Nearly half of the time the expression "one of" appears it is from echod. . . over 100 times! To be "one of" something necessarily shows that there is a multiple involved. Not multiples of different kinds, but multiples with commonality, a unity, many of the same type or kind.
The group that consists of YAHWEH - YAHWEH that is Eternal, having always been - is the Elohim of ISRAEL.
PROVERBS 8: Wisdom
There are a couple of other things that some turn to, to prove or supposedly prove - that YAHWEH the One, the Logos - the Spokesman came into being at some point. Let’s turn over to Proverbs the eighth Chapter, Proverbs 8 is often quoted to prove that Yah’shua Who is the Wisdom of YAHWEH was created at some time. And usually read is verses 22-31,
"YAHWEH possessed Me in the beginning of HIS way before the works of old. I was set up from Everlasting from the beginning or ever the earth was. When there were no depths I was brought forth. When there were no fountains abounding with water. Before the mountains were settled; before the hills was I brought forth while as yet HE had not made the earth nor the fields nor the highest part of the dust of the world, when HE prepared the Heavens I was there. When HE set a compass on the face of the depth; when HE established the clouds above; when HE strengthened the fountains of the deep; when HE gave to the sea HIS decree that the water should not pass HIS commandment; when HE appointed the foundations of the earth; then I was by HIM as ONE brought up with HIM, and I was daily HIS delight rejoicing always before HIM, rejoicing in the habitable part of the earth and MY delights were with the sons of men."
Here, wisdom is personified; but who was it that actually did the actual creating? We have already seen that it was YAHWEH Elohim that did the creating and as testified by John and Paul and others in the New Testament that it was YahwehShua WHO did the creating. Let’s go back to verse 26. In verse 26 to verse 30, we notice that "wisdom" is not - and I repeat is not - the creating agent but was simply a bystander or witness of the creation. Wisdom was there, but had no active part whatsoever in the creation. However, HE, meaning YAHWEH, did. Wisdom speaking in the first person says, "While as yet HE had not made the earth". Since HE is the Creating Agent, HE must be YahwehShua the MESSIAH. Wisdom was merely the observer, not a participant in any aspect, of the creation of the physical or material things.
Let’s notice verse 22 and verse 23,
"YAHWEH possessed Me in the beginning of HIS way before HIS works of old I was set up from everlasting from the beginning; or earth the ever was."
Interesting point about the term "wisdom"; it is from the term chok-maw’, and it means to gain wisdom by experience - something learned by the act of doing. This wisdom was before the material creation, that is true, before the earth ever was. But how did "wisdom" come into being, or being created before the actual creation? Verse 22 says "possessed Me"; in the Syric and Septuagint, and is translated "created in the beginning of HIS way" - now did YAHWEH have a beginning? No!
But the ANGELIC and the rest of the spiritual realm DOES!
"Before HIS works of old".
This is the creation of the physical works that we know of now. But it was the beginning of the spiritual creation at that time that this chok-maw’ came into being. Understand that the act of creating spirit was an instantaneous act. However, in so doing, YahwehShua the MESSIAH gained the experience through that instant act of creation which HE used in forming the physical creation at a latter time. This is why chok-maw’ or "wisdom" was possessed ‘in the beginning of His way’ before His physical works of old. Chok-maw’ was a result of this act of the creation of the spiritual realm which was from the beginning. Chok-maw’ was not an overt act of creation but an instantaneous result of an act of creation.
Chok-maw’ was not before the beginning of the spiritual creation, but simultaneous from the actual start of the spiritual creation. It was Messiah, then known as YAHWEH, Who gained the wisdom because He created all things. So this chok-maw’ was created by an act of divine fiat where YahwehShua the MESSIAH created all things: the spiritual powers - the visible and the invisible: the thrones, dominions, principalities...the entire angelic creation at that instant gave Him the experience that is described in Proverbs 8.
His Son's Name?
Another place in Proverbs that is oft quoted in Proverbs 30 and verse 4, reads,
"What is His Name and what is His Son’s Name if thou can tell?"
If some were not so impetuous and took the time to examine the Scriptures, they would see that in verse one that this is prophetic.
"The words of Agar the son of Jakeh even the prophecy."
This is a prophecy concerning YahwehShua the MESSIAH. It’s just as the same as many other Messianic prophecies.
Let me recap what I have gone over so far: we have seen from the Scriptures: that it was YAHWEH Elohim Who did the creating; that only YAHWEH is to be worshiped; and that bowing down is an act of worship. We know that YAHWEH was the Ha-Adon in Malachi 3 and was YAHWEH, and that HE was called the Messenger of YAHWEH the Father. And that there were two YAHWEH(s) preexisting at the same time in the Old Testament. That according to the prophecy that was fulfilled where John the Baptist came and prepared the way before HIM - HIM according to the Old Testament prophecy was none other than YAHWEH, the LOGOS - the Spokesman of the Hebrew Scriptures.
But there are some other things that need to be brought up concerning the preexistence of YahwehShua the MESSIAH. Things that I consider very critical to our understanding at this end time. Things that could possibly make the difference whether a person makes into the Kingdom of YAHWEH or not concerning some of the doctrines and beliefs we have had in the past. So let’s be like those Bereans; let’s search the Scriptures to see whether these things be so. And let’s pray that YAHWEH gives us guidance and understanding and that we can come before Him and worship Him in the beauty of holiness.
HalleluYAH!

And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto
them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
[Luke 24:27]
Have you ever heard anyone just use the Old Testament to preach Messiah?
Judaism rejects Christianity and the writings that support it, because the religion of Christianity does away with the Law, and because scripturally there is only "ONE=YHWH" worthy of worship, all else is a form of idolatry, in spite of the fact that Judaism, like it's wayward child, serves GOD ( See the BLOG at address below), not YAHWEH!
http://www.freewebs.com/elyah/myblog.htm
When it comes to Who "saves", the scriptures say that YAHWEH is the Savior.
Isaiah 43:3 For I am YAHWEH thy Eloheem, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee.
Isaiah 43:11 I, even I, am YAHWEH; and beside me there is no saviour.
That is true. YAHWEH SAVES! YAHWEH is the Redeemer!
Isaiah 44:6 Thus saith YAHWEH the King of Israel, and his redeemer YAHWEH of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no mighty one.
[note the two, and the unity!]
Isaiah 47:4 As for our redeemer, YAHWEH of hosts is his name, the Holy One of Israel.
Isaiah 41:14 Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith YAHWEH, and thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.
Isaiah 49:26 And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that I YAHWEH am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.
Isaiah 54:5 For thy Maker is thine husband; YAHWEH of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The mighty one of the whole earth shall he be called.
Isaiah 63:16 Doubtless thou art our father, though Abraham be ignorant of us, and Israel acknowledge us not: thou, O YAHWEH, art our father, our redeemer; thy name is from everlasting.
Don't the Greek writings say that the "Son" is the Savior? Yes. Why would thousands of Jews, even those of the priesthood, get caught up in the Messianic fervor of the 1st century? Is there really a Son of "YAHWEH"? Let's investigate a few scriptures, and see if there really is a "son".
The first place to begin, at least for this discussion, is with a prophesy that raises the question of the "son's" name.
Proverbs 30:1 The words of Agur the son of Jakeh, even the prophecy: the man spake unto Ithiel, even unto Ithiel and Ucal,
2 Surely I am more brutish than any man, and have not the understanding of a man. 3 I neither learned wisdom, nor have the knowledge of the holy.
4 Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son's name, if thou canst tell?
The prophecy of the Son's name is crucial to understanding that there WOULD BE A SON, and WHO the Son actually was! In fact, it is already implicit in the prophecy that the son is the son of the Almighty.
But isn't it a little strange that this prophecy, which was probably given in the days of Nehemiah when Judah came out of Babylonian captivity, is asking a question regarding names, rather than stating what they have known for a thousand years? This prophecy indicates a future occurrence.
Before we go to the revealing prophecy that actually names the Son, there are a few other things to look at. In Psalm 2 we see that there is Yahweh's messiah...that he is King, and a son begotten by Yahweh.
Psalm 2:1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? 2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together
, against YAHWEH, and against his anointed (messiah), saying, 3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.I will declare the decree: YAHWEH hath said unto me,
Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee
Primary is the fact that there is a prophecy (Prov 30) regarding the "son" and His name, and that the Son would be begotten of YAHWEH, Messiah ... and King (Psa 2).
How does Yahweh beget a son? Many would ignore or explain away the prophecies regarding the begotten Son of YAHWEH. And many misapply the scripture, but we will discover the real truth of this as we proceed. We'll come back to that, but let's focus on identifying Who this "son" will be.
By the way, YAHWEH says...
Surely the Sovereign YAHWEH will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets. [Amos 3:7]
Proverbs 30:4 asks...what is His Son's Name.... so, let's begin with the name. Few realize that the begotten Son of Yahweh is actually named hundreds of years before He came. The true Messiah was prophetically named in Zechariah chapters 3 & 6. In fact, six times (the number of man) the High Priest who bore iniquity is identified as "Yah'shua" (like "Joshua" with a "Y") and said to become The Branch ... "Yahweh our Righteousness" (Jer 23:5, 33:15).
Zechariah 3:1 And he shewed me
Yah'shua the high priest standing before the angel of YAHWEH, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him. Also note that Yahweh spoke referring to the other YAHWEH! Note that the YAHWEH who spoke is called the messenger, i.e. "angel". This is a clear example of Yahweh speaking to Yahweh, thus the "us" and "our" of Genesis 1:26. Eloheem, then, is a collective of more than one that share common characteristics. Here, the Yahweh Who Speaks is the Messenger of the other Yahweh. This is important regarding Who is the Messenger of the Covenant in Malachi 3:1.
Zechariah 3 states His prophetic human name as Yah'shua five times, showing this is the work of Grace! There are also some other amazing revelations!
While much can be written, we may summarize that "Yah'shua" is or becomes: A high priest, covered with dirty clothes (i.e. sin), a brand plucked from the fire, is cleansed (by the Will of YAHWEH), given the clean clothing (of righteousness) and miter of the High Priest (with YAHWEH'S name3 inscribed in gold on the forehead), told that he will Judge YAHWEH'S house, and is called "the BRANCH"! And that Yahweh would remove iniquity in one day! INCREDIBLE! How powerful would a sacrifice have to be to completely remove iniquity? Pretty powerful, to be sure! This never applied to the son of Yahosedek, therefore it is a prophetic description of Yah'shua, the Messianic Prince to come. Add Psalm 2 and we understand that this is Yahweh's begotten Son, King, and Messiah.
Now notice the sixth reference to the name Yah'shua, AND the sevenfold description.
Zech 6: 11 Then take silver and gold, and make crowns, and set them upon the head of Yah'shua the son of Yahosedech, the high priest;
12 And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh YAHWEH of hosts, saying,
>Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH;
>and he shall grow up out of his place,
>and he shall build the temple of YAHWEH:
13 Even he shall build the temple of YAHWEH;
>and he shall bear the glory,
>and shall sit and rule upon his throne;
>and he shall be a priest upon his throne:
>and the counsel of peace shall be between them both.
Revealing the name Yah'shua a total of six times shows the work of a man. In Zechariah 6 the name Yah'shua is used once, revealing that He is The One, bringing YAHWEH'S Grace and Truth to man. In addition, He grows up...also showing a required human begettal...builds the Temple of YAHWEH, bears the glorious name of YAHWEH3, and shall rule as King Messiah and High Priest, bringing the counsel of peace (acceptance) between man and Eloheem.
Zechariah is important because it shows the depth of the Messianic work, but not entirely in detail. We do know, however, that Yahweh names His Son centuries before He arrives!
A quick note (and another topic of study): The name "Yah'shua" comes from the name [vwh, Hosheah (Ho-shay-ah: hey-waw-sheen-ayin: Strong's @1954) meaning "salvation". The addition of the "yothe" at the beginning, and a second "waw" between the "sheen" and the "ayin", changed "Ho" to "Yah" and "sheah" to "shuah", also changing the meaning from the generic "salvation" to "Yah-saves". Very important!
It is clear from both Deu 3:21 & Judges 2:7 that the original spelling of "Yah'shua" contained six Hebrew letters, [wvwhy, yothe-hey-waw-sheen-waw-ayin.
However, the "waw", originally added into [[vwh] Hosheah making [[wvwhy]Yah'shua, was subsequently replaced by a vowel point, a chamets, [[;vuAhy>] three diagonal dots beneath the "sheen", which in effect retained the vocalized second "waw", evidenced in the continued pronunciation of "shua" even though the "waw" is not written. The chamets must be retained for correct pronunciation. The omission of the chamets, reducing the name to five letters, also changes the pronunciation to Yah-u-sha. However, we know that is incorrect. Therefore, in the use of all six Hebrew letters, the pronunciation of the first "waw" is rendered silent, as the well-known pronunciation of "Joshua" attests. This is also seen in the LXX [Septuagint] Greek transliteration ihsou IHSOU [Englsih=IHSOU], which omits the first "waw", "ou" in LXX Greek, articulation, but retains the second, [Ihsou] and is transliterated into English as IH-SOU-(the ayin is dropped).
For those who aren't familiar with LXX Greek grammar, the "ou" in the LXX Greek is a dipthong, combined letters, which represent a single articulation, and not separable unless the correct pronunciation is retained, in this case, the long "U" sound. If the first "waw" were to be articulated, the LXX Greek would have to read... ihousou, (Yah-U-shU(a)) which is never used. So in "Yah'shua", the first "waw" is silent, thus omitted in the LXX Greek transliteration, and the second "waw" remains articulated and also retained in the LXX Greek as "ou", an English long "û" vocalization. The proper name, then, is "Yah'shua".
It should also be noted that the vowel pointing for YAH, the "yothe-hey", is identical in both YAHWEH, and Yah'shua, but actually altered the pronunciation to "Yeh" as to NOT pronounce the sacred name, even by accident. The proper vowel pointing can be seen in "YAH" (Strong's #3050), drawing a connection directly to Yahweh, Who is the One Who Saves.
The name [wvy, "YshUA" (yothe-sheen-waw-ayin), from the Ezra-Nehemiah texts, do not have the "hey-waw" of [[wvwhy] Yah'shua, and does not actually contain an "e", which is added in Yeshua. This presents a transliteration problem in LXX, because letter for letter [wvy would be isou (ISOU (the ayin is dropped)) which in Greek means "equal" (LXX Exo 26:24), but does NOT mean "Yah-Saves". Let me repeat that again. ISOU does NOT mean "Yah-Saves"! Which is why the LXX does not directly transliterate [wvy ... "yothe-sheen-waw-ayin"... in the Ezra-Nehemiah texts.
However, names can be obtained in Greek if the ending Hebrew "ayin" is changed to an "hey" (H), or another "yothe" (Y/I), because we see that ISOU(H) is rendered Isuah, and that ISOU(I) is rendered Ishuai (1Chron 7:30). But that wasn't done with "YshUA".
It is obvious that the Hebrew Ezra-Nehemiah texts wanted to retain the knowledge of Yah'shua, the son of Nun, but because of the Babylonian captivity, being removed out of the promised land, and being cut off from YAHWEH who saves them, the name of the son of Nun, which meant "Yah-saves", was altered to reflect their exile and being cut off from YAHWEH. The LXX transliteration of Yah'shua, however, had to be altered so as to not be the word "equal", thus the deviation from the actual Hebrew texts and reverting to the LXX transliteration ihsou (IHSOU) of pre-exilic texts. This could never be construed as an endorsement of "Yeshua" as the proper name, because the LXX doesn't alter the ending to create a phonetically correct version, but rather reverts to the older "Yah'shua" as the correct form. It is just as important to note that the Zechariah, when naming the coming Messiah, referred to the complete Hebrew name, Yah'shua. Now, back to the narrative.
Yah'shua, descendent of David, is THE BRANCH out of the "root of Jesse" which stands for a ensign to the people (Isa 11:10),
Isaiah 11:10 And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.
Jeremiah clarifies that this is not David, but a descendent of David.
Jeremiah 33:15 In those days, and at that time, will I cause the Branch of righteousness to grow up unto David; and he shall execute judgment and righteousness in the land. 16 In those days shall Judah be saved, and Jerusalem shall dwell safely: and this is the name wherewith (he) shall be called, YAHWEH our righteousness.
Jeremiah 23:5 Behold, the days come, saith YAHWEH, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth. 6 In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, YAHWEH OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.
Remember, Zechariah identifies Him as "Yah'shua"!
It is important to note that these prophecies came hundreds of years after David, yet pointed to a Branch in the lineage of David...NOT David himself!
Notice the approximate length of time after ...David lived about 1040bce...Isaiah 762bce = 280 years...Zechariah 748 = 292 years...Jeremiah 620bce = 420 years...Zephaniah 615bce = 425 years...Habakkuk 605bce = 450 years...Ezekiel 592bce = 448 years...Joel 591bce = 449 years, and all are between 591 BCE and 762 BCE... centuries before the coming Messiah!
Also, it is clear that there is a transition between growing up...which requires being begotten as a man...with YAHWEH as the father, bearing sin, being cleansed and becoming High Priest & King...called YAHWEH OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS, and saving Judah and Israel.
First the anointed One must come as a man..."Yah'shua"...
Therefore the Sovereign himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. [Isa 7:14]
The term "virgin", from the Hebrew word "almah" essentially means young woman, probably only approaching a marriageable age, not "ishshah", the general term for a married woman (430 times), or woman in general (324 times). If nothing else, this points to a "child bride"!
And shall call his name Immanuel... or "with us is El". Note that the scripture doesn't say His name is "Immanuel", but just that His name is called "with us is El"..."immanuel". This also points to the One Who is from everlasting.
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty El, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever.
The zeal of YAHWEH of hosts will perform this. [Isa 9:6-7]It should also be pointed out that Zechariah's prophecy shows that this "Yah'shua" will wear the "fair mitre, so would be anointed as the high priest. This presents a change in the priesthood, thus a change in the Law, since this High Priest is from the line of Judah, not from Aaron or Levi.
Genesis 49:10 The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh (the one who's right it is) come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.
He hath said, which heard the words of El, and knew the knowledge of the most High, which saw the vision of the Almighty, falling into a trance, but having his eyes open: I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and shall smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of Sheth. [Numbers 24:16-17]
...and will come from the town of BethlehemJudah
Micah 5:2 But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.
Micah pointedly reveals that this Ruler in Israel existed in eternity...but will come out of Judah and specifically from Bethlehem, yet must also be a descendent of David, i.e. human.
So this One Who is to be the governor, and is from everlasting, must empty Himself of His inherent power and glory (of His name) in order to become begotten by a woman of Judah, of the lineage of David, and be born in the town of Bethlehem, and be given the name...Yah'shua! So...
Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass. [Zech 9:9]
Zechariah 9:9 is important because it shows that the Messianic Prince has salvation, but comes "lowly".
He shall also be associated with the Galilee region.
Nevertheless the dimness shall not be such as was in her vexation, when at the first he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, and afterward did more grievously afflict her by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, in Galilee of the nations. The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined. [Isaiah 9:1-2]
More specifically, the town of Nazareth...
And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch (
rc,nE netser {nay'-tser} i.e. the town of the branch, Nazareth) shall grow out of his roots: [Isaiah 11:1]This Yah'shua is said to be "just, and having salvation", yet scripture also says Yahweh is the Savior. There is no contradiction. However, let's continue.
In a time of trouble, under the oppression of a foreign power when judgment languishes, the Redeemer would come as a man, an intercessor.
Isa 59:14 And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter. 15 Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey: and YAHWEH saw it, and it displeased him that there was no judgment. 16 And he saw that there was
no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him. 17 For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloke. That the "intercessor" will be a "man" is clear. That "his arm brought salvation unto him" indicates this is none other than the Son/Messiah!
When will this Ruler come?
The prophet Daniel gave a direct time when Messiah the Prince would come.
Dan 9:25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem
... unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks:
Artaxerxes gave this command in 457BCE (Ezra 7).
seven weeks = 7 weeks
threescore and two = 60 + 2 = 62 weeks
or 7 + 62 = 69 weeks...
or 69*7 = 483 days
What happened in 483 days? Not a thing! The Messiah did not come.
But in a prophecy regarding Judah we are told this:
And when thou hast accomplished them, lie again on thy right side, and thou shalt bear the iniquity of the house of Judah forty days: I have appointed thee each day for a year. [Ezek 4:6]
However, counting 69 weeks, i.e. 483 years from 457BCE does bring us to 27CE...(the 27th Jubilee? and) the year Yah'shua (Zech 3&6) would be anointed by YAHWEH. Since this Messiah was to be a 'priest', he would also have to be thirty years old (in that year), to began His service (Numbers 4:3,23,30,35,39,43,47).
the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.
26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself:
Remember, In Zechariah 3 Yah'shua is wearing dirty clothes and has to be cleansed and given the symbol of the High Priest, the miter. Daniel says that He will be cut off, i.e. killed, but not for himself. Isaiah fills in the details.
Isaiah 53:1 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of YAHWEH revealed?
2 For he shall grow up [Jer 33:15 and Zech 6:12 show that this is Yah'shua, the One that becomes THE BRANCH ... YAHWEH OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS] before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
We are also told the manner of the "Yah'shua's" execution.
For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet. I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me. They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture. [Psalm 22:16-18]
... and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn. [Zech 12:10]
And that "Yah'shua" would be betrayed by a friend for thirty pieces of silver
And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver. And YAHWEH said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was prised at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of YAHWEH. [Zech 11:12-13]
Thus the Shepherd would be struck down by betrayal
And one shall say unto him, What are these wounds in thine hands? Then he shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends. Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow, saith YAHWEH of hosts: smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: and I will turn mine hand upon the little ones. [Zech 13:6-7]
Continuing in Daniel... when will this occur?
27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
One week is seven years...but in the middle of that period, or in three and a half years, he (Yah'shua -Zechariah 3&6) would be "cut off" (Dan 9:26) "cut off out of the land of the living" (Isa 53:8). And if Daniel is correct about the timing of the coming of Messiah being 483 years from Artaxerxes decree, then it is apparent that three and a half years from the fall of the year 27 comes to the spring of the year 31, when this Yah'shua would be put to death.
Since this is the lamb that is slaughtered for the justification of iniquity, combined with the implementation of an intercessor that protects those covered by the blood sacrifice, just as the Israelites were protected from the destroyer by the intercession at the first Passover, this Yah'shua also becomes the ultimate Passover sacrifice. Passover that year occurred on a Wednesday...the middle of the week!
But it is against the Law to require human sacrifice! Therefore, this sacrifice must be a free-will offering, because scripture says...
Psalm 40: 6 Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required.
7 Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me,
8 I delight to do thy will, O my Eloheem: yea, thy law is within my heart.
Now, let's consider Isaiah's words, "YAHWEH hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.... And he made his grave with the wicked... for he shall bear their iniquities."
If this is true, and this Yah'shua (Zech 3&6) bore all iniquity as a freewill offering, making every evil and depraved sin HIS OWN... literally becoming sin...DYING IN SIN!
Yes...dying in sin! Think about it. If He was who He claimed, and He took all sin upon Himself, and died...He literally died in sin! Do you understand what happened to that sin? Keep reading!
In addition, the law clearly states that anyone hung on a TREE is cursed!
Deu 21:22 And if a man have committed a sin worthy of death, and he be to be put to death, and thou hang him on a tree: 23 His body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thou shalt in any wise bury him that day; (for he that is hanged is accursed of Eloheem;) that thy land be not defiled, which YAHWEH thy Eloheem giveth thee for an inheritance.
Do you believe the scriptures? Was the one you worship hung on a tree? Scripture says that the True Savior would be hung on a tree. Which "savior" have you been led to? The one that wasn't hung on a tree? Are you willing to bet your salvation that your savior, who wasn't hung on a tree... and who's name isn't Yah'shua...is the right one? Ask yourself...would worshipping the wrong savior make a difference to your salvation? Does truth make a difference?
If Yah'shua is the true Messiah, He bore our iniquities when He was hung on a TREE, and became a curse for us!
Remember...this is not what a religion teaches, it is what the Word of Yahweh teaches! Now prepare yourself for the greatest shock of your life!
Deuteronomy says that anyone "hanged is accursed of Eloheem". What is that curse?
Deu 29:20 YAHWEH will not spare him, but then the anger of YAHWEH and his jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all the curses that are written in this book shall lie upon him,
"YAHWEH will not spare him"? Not even His "begotten son"? That's what scripture says! Do you believe what scripture says? How about this?
...and YAHWEH shall blot out his name from under heaven.
Let it sink in ..."and YAHWEH shall blot out his name from under heaven"!
21 And YAHWEH shall separate him unto evil out of all the tribes of Israel, according to all the curses of the covenant that are written in this book of the law:
His prophetic human name is, according to the Word of YAHWEH, BLOTTED OUT from under heaven! Blotted out of what? Blotted out of THE BOOK OF THE LIVING! [Psa 69:28]
THAT IS THE CURSE OF SIN!
Have you been taught the truth about the real Savior...that His prophetic human name was BLOTTED OUT of the book of life? Or have you been taught that His prophetic human name or some other human name is glorified?
We are sinners and it is OUR name that should be blotted out of the book of life! But according to the scriptures, YAHWEH lays our iniquities upon His son, Yah'shua, and would not spare Him, His only begotten son, even blotting out His prophetic human name...because it was required by Law! Deuteronomy 29:20-21 is emphatic! Therefore, He had to be under the Law...and die under the Law!
Do you really understand? The prophetic human name of Messiah is CURSED...and blotted out of the book of life...because He would bear our iniquities! He would become sin for us!
HIS HUMAN NAME CAN NOT BE THE NAME OF LIFE! IT CAN NOT BE THE NAME OF SALVATION!
Man-made religions that teach that salvation is in a human name...any human name... are lying to you, and put you under THAT CURSE! They are teaching doctrines after their own traditions, not the word of salvation! They say they honor Yahweh, but deny His name. They say they speak the truth, but ignore scripture that contradicts their doctrines. Truth doesn't matter and falls by the wayside...
In transgressing and lying against YAHWEH, and departing away from our Eloheem, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood. And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for
truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter. [Isa 59:13-14]Wherefore the Sovereign said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men: [Isa 29:13]
Do you love the name that has become with synonymous with sin? Do you still love the name of the curse?
What is THE name of salvation?
From time immemorial, Yahweh was the Savior. Yahweh was the name of salvation.
Behold THE RESURRECTED SON!
Remember that Zechariah describes Yah'shua being clothed with filthy garments. Garments are something that are put on, which is the bearing of the iniquity of others...Yahweh has laid upon Him the iniquity of us all, Yah'shua is made an offering for sin.
Zechariah clearly shows that once the filth of iniquity is put on, it becomes His own, i.e. "thine iniquity". But pay attention of how that iniquity is handled; YAHWEH simply takes "....away the filthy garments from him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with change of raiment."
But how can this Yah'shua make intercession if He is dead? In an act of YAHWEH'S WILL to simply cause sin to "pass from thee", Yahweh ransoms His Firstborn from the power of the grave...He is redeemed from death! There was no repentance involved, because scripture is fulfilled where YAHWEH says:
I will ransom them from the power of the grave;
I will redeem them from death:
O death, I will be thy plagues;
O grave, I will be thy destruction
Isaiah 43:25 I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.
Isa 44:22 I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: ... for YAHWEH hath redeemed Jacob, and glorified himself in Israel.
So this One Who became sin because of others, yet without repentance, had that sin removed in mercy and forgiveness, and that iniquity was not imputed, making this Yah'shua most blessed of YAHWEH.
Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. 2 Blessed is the man unto whom YAHWEH imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile. [Psalm 32:1 {A Psalm of David, Maschil.}]
YAHWEH says that HE will ransom from the power of the grave, and He will redeem from death, that He will destroy the grave. So, how is death defeated? By Life!
Isaiah states:
Isa 25:8 He will swallow up death in victory; and the Sovereign YAHWEH will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for YAHWEH hath spoken it. 9 And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our eloheem; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is YAHWEH; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.
Even Job looked forward to a resurrection.
But man dieth, and wasteth away: yea, man dies, and where is he? As the waters fail from the sea, and the flood decayeth and drieth up: So man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep.
O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me!
If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come. Thou shalt call, and I will answer thee: thou wilt have a desire to the work of thine hands. [Job 14:10-15]
Because Job understood that Yahweh was Redeemer!
For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth
: And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see the MightyOne: [Job 19:25-26]The government is to be given to Yah'shua, descendant of David, and He also bears the glory of Yahweh. Notice this outstanding prophecy.
20 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will call my servant Eliakim the son of Hilkiah:
The prophecy is connected to the names Eliakim and Hilkaih. Eliakim means...El (the Mighty One) raises, and Hilkiah means...my portion is Yahweh. So, Yah'shua, would be given the key of the house of David, would also be the One raised or resurrected by Yahweh and be given the glory of His Father's house...not only of David...but Yahweh's house!
21 And I will clothe him with thy robe, and strengthen him with thy girdle, and I will commit thy government into his hand: and he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah.
22 And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.
23 And I will fasten him as a nail in a sure place; and he shall be for a glorious throne to his father's house.
24 And they shall hang upon him all the glory of his father's house, the offspring and the issue, all vessels of small quantity, from the vessels of cups, even to all the vessels of flagons. [Isa 22:20-24]
He shall have "all the glory of his father's house"...yet we are also told that Yahweh doesn't give that glory to others.
I am YAHWEH: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images. [Psalm 42:8]
There is no contradiction! Yahweh will do this for His own sake.
For mine own sake, even for mine own sake, will I do it: for how should my name be polluted? and I will not give my glory unto another. [Isa 48:11]
It should be no surprise that Yahweh would begin the process of redemption with His Firstborn.
I have raised him up in righteousness
, and I will direct all his ways: he shall build my city, and he shall let go my captives, not for price nor reward, saith YAHWEH of hosts. [Isa 45:13]So death cannot hold the righteous one, or any He will raise up. Remember the prophecy regarding the key of David and what Eliakim and Hilkiah mean!
Death is swallowed up by YAHWEH!
[Psalm 89:24-28]
But my faithfulness and my mercy shall be with him:
and in my name shall his horn be exalted. [Psalm 89:24]
But my faithfulness and my mercy shall be with him:
Because...He could not repent of sins that He didn't personally commit! He bore OUR sin, making them His own, but He would be totally incapable of repenting! So He died in sin! Therefore the removal of sin was by the will and mercy of YAHWEH. (Zech 3:4 And he answered and spake unto those that stood before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with change of raiment.)
Sin was removed by the Will of The Father!
Isaiah said that ...
...he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors .... [53:12]
showing that He died in sin....and scripture says that the life is in the blood [Lev 17:11], so this "Yah'shua" would pour out His life's blood. The sin offering was to be burnt outside the camp (Exo 29:14), because the Tabernacle of Yahweh was outside the camp ...
And Moses took the tabernacle, and pitched it without the camp, afar off from the camp, and called it the Tabernacle of the congregation. And it came to pass, that every one which sought YAHWEH went out unto the tabernacle of the congregation, which was without the camp. (Exo 33:7),
...so "Yah'shua" would also suffer outside the walls of the holy city.
And we were told that YAHWEH will do this for His Name's sake, and that repentance would not, indeed...COULD NOT be required of His Holy One...so He would be raised ...
...and
in my name ......shall his horn be exalted.
In My Name...YAHWEH!
Let them praise the name of YAHWEH: for his name alone is excellent;
his glory is above the earth and heaven. He also exalteth the horn of his people, the praise of all his saints; even of the children of Israel, a people near unto him. Praise ye YAH. [Psa 148:13-14]How does Yahweh exalt the power of his people? What is that blessing?
And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel
; and I will bless them. [Numbers 6:27]O YAHWEH our Sovereign, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens. [Psalm 8:1 (9)]
And His horn...His POWER shall be exalted... RAISED UP/RESURRECTED...IN YAHWEH'S NAME!
Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I
deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation. [Psalm 91:14-16]The word "deliver" is translated from the Hebrew "pawlat", which carries the meaning of escaping something...as in death! (Strong's #6403)
The prophecy of the key of David and the names Hilkiah and Eliakim...my portion is Yahweh, and El raises...is now shown to be the resurrection IN YAHWEH'S GREAT NAME!
He shall cry unto me, Thou art my father, my El, and the rock of my salvation.
Also I will make him my firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth. My mercy will I keep for him for evermore, and my covenant shall stand fast with him. [Psalm 89:26-28]The Son becomes THE FIRSTBORN! He must, by the act of death, INHERIT The Father's Name! "And they shall hang upon him all the glory of his father's house..." the glory of YAHWEH'S NAME!
How do we know that it is the glory of The Name? Because, Moses wanted to see the glory of the Almighty...and was told that He would proclaim THE NAME...YAHWEH!
And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory.
And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of YAHWEH before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy. ...
And YAHWEH descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name YAHWEH. And YAHWEH passed by before him, and proclaimed, YAHWEH, YAHWEH mighty (one), merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.
And Moses made haste, and bowed his head toward the earth, and worshipped. [Exo 33:18-19; 19:5-8]
So scripture clearly points to the son bearing the glory of Yahweh's name!
However, let's be crystal clear this... THE BLOOD of the sacrifice was poured out as a sin offering...and was left outside the camp...which means it could not be resurrected. How is THE BLOOD identified? Specifically....by THE NAME...YAH'SHUA! Therefore, His prophetic human name is identified with the sin that it bore, being poured out, and not subject to the resurrection!
The prophetic human name is defiled with sin by identification with the blood. Sin could never be reinstated in the Father's presence (the holy of holies), therefore, neither the blood nor the name could be resurrected. It's sole purpose was for the atonement of sin.
So consider this: Can sin stand in the holy of holies? No! Sin is the abomination that cannot be put into the holy of holies, but if the name associated with sin, which was under a curse and blotted out of the book of life...making the man who bore sin...the man of sin, should be put in the holy place by putting that defiled name in the presence of the Father, it would certainly decimate the faith and salvation of those who trust in that defiled and blotted-out name!
That is why He could never be addressed by His prophetic human name...the name of sin and death! That's why Yah'shua could only be resurrected IN YAHWEH'S NAME! Moreover, this is how THE BRANCH of the Davidic line, named Yah'shua, becomes YAHWEH OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS!
Yah'shua is delivered from death when He is resurrected in Yahweh's name, and set on high at the right hand of YAHWEH! Let's read this again.
Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation. [Psa 91:14-16]
Since Isaiah says that Yah'shua (Zech 3&6) will be put to death, the fulfillment of psalm 91:16 that promises length of days must pertain to being resurrected.
Psa 16:8 I have set YAHWEH always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. 9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope. 10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption... [Psa 16:10]
The Holy One of Israel could not see corruption unless He became subject to corruption, that is, became a man. Therefore, the Holy One of Israel would have to become lower than what He was as eloheem.
Psalm 8:4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? 5 For thou hast made him a little lower than eloheem, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.
The Holy One of Israel was not a created angel, so would not be compared to them.
Isaiah 46:5 To whom will ye liken me, and make me equal, and compare me, that we may be like?
Psalm 89: 6 For who in the heaven can be compared unto YAHWEH? who among the sons of the mighty can be likened unto YAHWEH? 7 Eloheem is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all them that are about him. 8 O YAHWEH eloheem of hosts, who is a strong YAH like unto thee? or to thy faithfulness round about thee?
Thy throne, O Eloheem, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre. Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore Eloheem, thy Eloheem, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. [Psalm 45:6-7]
He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever. I will be his father, and he shall be my son. ...: [2Sam 7:13-14]
David was never the One "from everlasting" as the prophet Micah revealed. David is dead and buried, but the Branch which comes from His lineage is also the "Holy One", referring to YAHWEH, the Holy One of Israel! He was the one of old, from everlasting (Micah 5:2) which Hab 1:12 calls YAHWEH from everlasting, and Isaiah says:
Isaiah 63:16 Doubtless thou art our father, though Abraham be ignorant of us, and Israel acknowledge us not: thou, O YAHWEH, art our father, our redeemer; thy name is from everlasting.
...
and Malachi says is "haAdon", the messenger of the covenant (Mal 3:1) that is, YAHWEH the Logos, the One Who Spoke the Covenant to Abraham and Moses and the children of Israel...who shall come to His Temple. And since He is also the Redeemer... Death has been swallowed up by Life! Yah'shua is the promised Messiah...YAHWEH that Saves, i.e. Yahweh-Savior...He is YahwehShua! He is in the presence of YAHWEH at the right hand of His FATHER!I will set his hand also in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers.
He shall cry unto me, Thou art my father, my El, and the rock of my salvation.
Yah'shua was delivered from the bond of death, becoming the firstborn from the dead, holding the key of David and standing firm in Yahweh's covenant of life.
Special attention should be made regarding His "begettal". Scripture (Ps 2:8) says "Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee", refers to a direct begettal which results in being BORN by the resurrection...this begettal must be the anointing as Messiah, the receiving of the Spirit of YAHWEH, because Isaiah says...
The Spirit of Adonay YAHWEH is upon me; because YAHWEH hath anointed me
to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; [Isaiah 61:1]As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith YAHWEH; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith YAHWEH, from henceforth and for ever. [Isaiah 59:21]
Also I will make him my firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth.
Thus the begotten Son is made YAHWEH'S "firstborn" by the power of the resurrection!
Since "This day I have begotten thee" is the begttal that leads to the resurrection and life, it could not mean the begettal of Isaiah 7:14, which lead to a human birth and death!
The right of son-ship carries the right of inheritance, particularly the right to inherit the father's name. The Son, who is begotten, has the right to claim YAHWEH as His Father...and His Name!
The Son is resurrected in YAHWEH'S great name...therefore the Son INHERITS His Father's name, because an inheritance can only be passed on through death. He has by the resurrection from the dead inherited that more excellent name, which is higher than the angels...YAHWEH!
Just to be clear about this... this name acquired at His resurrection could not His prophetic human name, which was prophetically given at birth (not inherited). The name of glory is only acquired by inheritance through death and resurrection!
This would have to be true since His prophetic human name would be blotted out of the book of life (Deu 29:20) due to the fact that He would actually take iniquity upon Himself (Isa 53), becoming the man of sin. To deny this is to deny that He actually bore all our iniquities, thus denying His sacrifice! How can this be said? Because He could only make his grave with the wicked in His death if He actually died in sin. So, to not die in sin, means that He wasn't bearing sin or iniquity! And if He wasn't bearing sin and iniquity, then Yahweh did not put our sin on Him, we are still in our sins and He is not the Savior of anyone! Religions refuse to teach that the true Messiah died in sin because they don't know Him or how and when Yahweh disposed of sin. Though many that see this will undoubtedly try to copy this explanation!
Since a covenant is not ratified without blood, as we see in Exodus 24:8...
And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant, which YAHWEH hath made with you concerning all these words. [Exo 24:8]
It was known that that life is the required atonement, because the life is in the blood. But true redemption is kind for kind. And this verse reveals WHY Yahweh came as a man to redeem humanity:
Gen 9:4 But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat. 5 And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man's brother will I require the life of man. 6 Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of Eloheem made he man.
The penalty of bloodshed is death by bloodshed. Yet all sin carries the penalty of death, so all sin must be covered by blood...a man's blood for mans' redemption!
Thus redemption must be through human blood...a kinsman-redeemer, a life for a life.
Exodus 4:22 And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh, Thus saith YAHWEH, Israel is my son, even my firstborn:
And every firstborn must be sanctified...
Exodus 13:1 And YAHWEH spake unto Moses, saying, 2 Sanctify unto me all the firstborn, whatsoever openeth the womb among the children of Israel, both of man and of beast: it is mine.
Yahweh's Firstborn from the dead has opened a new and living way for the sanctification of Israel, which is why the promises of the kingdom and eternal life are made to Israel...and why anyone who wants to share in Yahweh's promises must be adopted into Israel!
Thus saith YAHWEH, Keep ye judgment, and do justice: for my salvation is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed. Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.
Neither let the son of the stranger, that hath joined himself to YAHWEH, speak, saying, YAHWEH hath utterly separated me from his people: neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I am a dry tree.
For thus saith YAHWEH unto the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths, and choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant; Even unto them will I give in mine house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off.
Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to YAHWEH, to serve him, and to love the name of YAHWEH, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant; Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.
The Sovereign YAHWEH which gathereth the outcasts of Israel saith, Yet will I gather others to him, beside those that are gathered unto him. [Isaiah 56:1-8]
You don't have to born an Israelite to be of Israel. Join yourself to Yahweh, love His name, and rejoice in His Sabbaths, and take hold of His Covenant...and you will receive an everlasting name when YAHWEH places His name on you, and you will be kept in His Name!
Since YAHWEH'S name is the name of LIFE, and ETERNITY, The Son is able to execute a New Covenant by His blood in YAHWEH'S name.
My mercy will I keep for him for evermore, and my covenant shall stand fast with him.
YAHWEH'S covenant of promise, the Inheritance of YAHWEH'S everlasting name, thus everlasting life...and the Priesthood of the firstborn, must go to the resurrected Son, Yahweh, the Savior and Redeemer, who is made a priest for ever after the order of the King of Righteousness (Melchizedek) because of the power of an endless life...
Psalm 110:4 YAHWEH hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.
This Yahweh, the holy one of Israel, the Redeemer, emptied Himself of the power of His Name, becoming a man, Yah'shua, dying for our sins, pouring out His blood, and is sanctified in and by YAHWEH through the resurrection out from the dead. Therefore we are sanctified in Him, because He has Himself paid the ultimate price, blood for blood, to redeem mankind.
Sanctify YAHWEH of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread. And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem. And many among them shall stumble, and fall, and be broken, and be snared, and be taken. [Isa 8:13-15]
Remember Psalm 2:11-12
Serve YAHWEH with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.
Why isn't the name YahwehShua remembered?
But I was like a lamb or an ox that is brought to the slaughter; and I knew not that they had devised devices against me, saying, Let us destroy the tree with the fruit thereof, and let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be no more remembered. [Jer 11:19]
So the name of the resurrection is no more remembered! What is remembered is the name that Yahweh blotted out. That is what is read in every bible. So let the reader understand that the name which appears is not the name that saves. Therefore "seeing" must be with the heart, as Isaiah says:
And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not. Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed. [Isa 6:9-10]
The name YahwehShua was removed so that it should become the name of faith... that which is hoped for, yet unseen, so that those who are saved are saved by faith. Ask Yahweh for His Truth! Seek Him! It is The Father that must lead us by His Spirit to reveal His Son, YahwehShua.
Judgment is of the heart
Jeremiah 11:20 But, O YAHWEH of hosts, that judgest righteously, that triest the reins and the heart, let me see thy vengeance on them: for unto thee have I revealed my cause.
So we must be circumcised of heart and humble ourselves under the mighty hand of YAHWEH.
Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiffnecked
. [Deuteronomy 10:16]Micah 6:8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth YAHWEH require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy Eloheem?
Yet it is not in the heart of man to follow Yahweh. So Yahweh promises to circumcise our hearts for us, if we will submit to His Son, YahwehShua, because we read in Deuteronomy 30:6...
And YAHWEH thy Eloheem will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love YAHWEH thy Eloheem with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.
Yet who believes the law when it says that Yahweh would blot out His name out of the book of life? This is Who the True Savior is! If it isn't true, then He isn't the true Savior! Can those who don't or won't believe the scriptures, that His human name was blotted out of the book of life...or that this Yah'shua didn't inherit Yahweh's name...really be believers? What about you? do you believe the scriptures?
In the great day of salvation, just before the creation of the new heavens and the new earth
For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. [Isa 65:17]
For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith YAHWEH, so shall your seed and your name remain. And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith YAHWEH. [Isa 66:22-23]
...all men will know Yahweh, from the least to the greatest, as Yahweh has said...
And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit. And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of YAHWEH come.
And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of YAHWEH shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as YAHWEH hath said, and in the remnant whom YAHWEH shall call. [Joel 2:28-32]
Will you call upon Yahweh our Savior & Redeemer...YahwehShua, to be saved? Will you honor the Son even as you honor The Father? Will you head the call to be part of the household of Yahweh? Repent...and believe the good news that the times of refreshing may come upon you.
Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.
For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.
To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: ...
Therefore thus saith the Sovereign YAHWEH, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste. [Isa 28:9-16]
This Yah'shua, the son of Yahweh, YahwehShua, is messiah and king, and is the refreshing of Yahweh!
Isa 32:3 And the eyes of them that see shall not be dim, and the ears of them that hear shall hearken. 4 The heart also of the rash shall understand knowledge, and the tongue of the stammerers shall be ready to speak plainly.... 15 Until the spirit be poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness be a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be counted for a forest.
Yahweh, the Redeemer, would become a man, a kinsman, to fulfill His promise of everlasting inheritance, He is YahwehShua, The Son of Yahweh.
Kiss the son, lest He be angry...because Yahweh, the Father, has given His Son HIS glory and authority over His house.
Assemble yourselves and come; draw near together, ye that are escaped of the nations: they have no knowledge that set up the wood of their graven image, and pray unto mighty ones that cannot save. Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I YAHWEH? and there is no Eloheem else beside me; a just El and a Saviour; there is none beside me.
Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am El, and there is none else.
I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.
Surely, shall one say, in YAHWEH have I righteousness and strength: even to him shall men come; and all that are incensed against him shall be ashamed.
In YAHWEH shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory. [Isa 45:20-25]
The testimony that Yah'shua of Nazareth is the "son, in whom I am well pleased" is stated Five times, the number of Grace, which occurred in the year 27ce, - Mat 3:17; Mat 17:5; Mark 1:11; Luk 3:22 & 2Pet 1:17, precisely when Daniel prophesied He would. Therefore, it was THIS Yah'shua Who became YAHWEH'S firstborn out from the dead ... inheriting YAHWEH'S excellent name, once again sharing the glory of The Father which He had with the Father from eternity.
He is... YAHWEH OUR SAVIOR AND REDEEMER! He is YahwehShua!
Hallelu-YAH! Praise YAHWEH Almighty!
1. For example, the name Isaac means "laughter" in English, but we don't say that the name is "Laughter". Adam may mean "red" in English, but we don't say that the name is "Red". And in John 15:1 "I am the true vine, and my Father is the "georgos"... husbandman"... (rancher/farmer), and although the word "georgos" means "farmer", we don't say that His name is George or Farmer! Just because YAHWEH is called "georgos" it doesn't mean His name is "George", nor does it mean that translating the meaning of "georgos" into English makes His name "Farmer". Therefore, attributes translated into other languages are not names.
2. The Jewish priest, Flavius Josephesus, states that the four Hebrew letters are four "vowels" [Wars of the Jews]. There was no "J" in Hebrew, or in English until the mid 17th century. The term "Jah" from the Hebrew "yothe-hey" [YH] as in Psalm 68:4 is used 46 times, as "YAH", and often in the universal expression, Hallelujah (praise-YAH), and in name-endings such as Moriah, Abiah, Isaiah, Uzziah, Jeremiah, Obediah, Zephaniah and many others. Thus YAH makes up the first half of [YHWH] "yothe-hey-waw-hey", roughly articulated "YAHWEH", and is used nearly 7000 times in the sacred Hebrew scriptures! The reason for explaining it as "roughly articulated" is because linguists admit that the ancient Hebrew of the middle east used a soft or half-breath gutteral for the "waw", which is not natural to the Germanic language family, and difficult to reproduce.
The term "Jehovah", was a later mis-transliteration from the hybrid combination of YHWH with the vowel pointing of Adonay . "It is found in Raymond Martin's "Pugio Fidei." written in 1270 (Paris, 1651, iii., pt. ii., ch. 3, p. 448; comp. T. Prat in "Dictionnaire de la Bible," s.v.)." Later "generally held to have been the invention of Pope Leo X.'s confessor, Peter Galatin ("De Arcanis Catholicæ Veritatis," 1518, folio xliii.)". source: Jewish Encyclopedia; http://www.jewishencyclopedia.com/view.jsp?artid=206&letter=J
The pronunciation of the name YAHWEH was never lost! {see here}
3. Exo 28: 36 And thou shalt make a plate of pure gold, and grave upon it, like the engravings of a signet, HOLINESS TO YAHWEH. 37 And thou shalt put it on a blue lace, that it may be upon the mitre; upon the forefront of the mitre it shall be. 38 And it shall be upon Aaron's forehead, that Aaron may bear the iniquity of the holy things, which the children of Israel shall hallow in all their holy gifts; and it shall be always upon his forehead, that they may be accepted before YAHWEH. (also 39:30)
This shows that the High Priest is to "bear the iniquity", causing the people to be "accepted before YAHWEH". This is the significance of having YAHWEH'S name on the forehead.
