Do you walk around with your eyes closed, or maybe you just pretend to, so that you can block out the harsh realities of the ever growing social issues in today’s society?
Domestic Violence is a subject that we are all aware of but this thought provoking piece of theatre will take you ‘Behind Closed Doors’ and into the lives of your best friend, your neighbour or even your child. Through music, film and live theatre watch stories unfold.
Behind Closed Doors... was performed over December 2007 as part of Hereford Winter Festival and also as part of White Ribbon Day.
Behind Closed Doors… addresses the issue of domestic violence and uses a mixture of mediums, including physical theatre, music, text and film. My intention was to create a simple yet affective performance that gave an insight into what goes on ‘Behind Closed Doors’ and made the audience more aware of how domestic violence affects not only the victim but also people around them, for example children within the household.
