Welcome

I have been a lone voice in the wilderness; and I have been part of a group with others with like-minded ideas. Movement towards spiritual and community focus requires that the individual move along this social spectrum. The individual can grow by reading, practicing, and experimenting alone. Then if they can share with the community, not everyone has to start from the same starting point, but we can move the community forward. If that individual can teach others their experiences and even guide them to have the most beneficial experiences, we are richer as a people.

We have developed a "micro-nation" to be a cumulative and driving force in the pagan community. A pagan is any one who has a deep regard and a spiritual connection to nature, whether its nature itself or via gods and goddesses. Of course, this is not the only definition, and I invite you share your experiences.

It is our goal to have a place that will tie together many different pagan groups and develop a wider pagan perspective.  Eventually, we would like to have a university concept for pagans, a service oriented group known as the Order of the Green Shield, and honors on a comparable scale of the "Nobel Prize" for pagans.

The university should be discussion based classes and perhaps even a degree program that is recognized within the pagan community. As pagans become more accepted within the main stream, we are going to need to expand our horizons beyond just counseling our own group.

The Order of the Green Shield (OGS) is a service group that is open to any individual that agrees to chivalric principles and has contributed to their community at large.  It is also about respecting the land and nature in its original form.  OGS also has concerns about pagan elders and many of the social conditions within the pagan community.  This is a forum to address our concerns.  One such activity is sponsoring a pagan monastery. OGS is a transparent group and not a secret society; any one should feel comfortable to participate.

The honorary award is for people that have made contributions to the pagan community and advanced the pagan culture.  Publishing a poem, writing a story, creative expression are all examples.  The criterion has not been set for this and should have a set of several elders to award such honors.

Elpoepia is from Elpeop, which is “people” spelled backwards.  Not because we as pagans are backward people, but to remind us that we are unique individuals and have a different way of looking at situations and life in general. It is the goal of Elpoepia to increase our awareness and
become a more fulfilled individual.
