The League of Cowles Spectral Ambassadors

This page is dedicated to the brave souls that ventured into Cowles Hall to capture photographic evidence of the paranormal.  Anyone can join the League simply by sending photos to the GhostMaster.  Analyzed copies of the photos will be emailed back to the sender.  All identities are concealed to protect the Ambassadors from the wrath of Elmira College.

<Warning: Entering Cowles Hall without permission is considered tresspassing even if you are a fulltime EC student.  The Ghostmaster does not encourage breaking laws or college rules.>

Step by Step Instructions for Investigating a Haunted Location

(Reading this does not make you an expert.  Don’t get cocky about it.  These instructions are the briefest outline form I can come up with.)

DO - send pictures to ecghostmaster@yahoo.com for analysis.

DO - say a prayer/protection spell before entering the location to ensure your safety.

DO - say the following upon entering the location to make your presence known, “We are here to collect photographic evidence of the paranormal.  We will be walking around and taking pictures.  Once we have taken our pictures we will be leaving and no one is to follow us.”

DON’T - go with a group less than three people.  I recommend 4 or 5 people.  Two of which should be strong guys.  You want to have a group for protection against bums/townies squatting in the building and in case someone gets hurt.  You need someone to stay with the person hurt and someone to go for help.

DO - say some sort of prayer/protection spell before you go in.

DO – take protection such as a baseball bat, maglite, or hockey stick.  There may be bums and townies in the building.

DO – make sure your camera lenses are clean.

DON’T – take pictures with a cellphone.  It is a waste of everyone’s time.

DO – treat the ghosts/spirits/dead/etc. with respect.

DO - use common sense.  If something looks unsafe avoid it.

DO - listen to your fear.  Fear is a primal instinct designed to protect us.

DON’T – drink, smoke weed, or do drugs during or before an investigation

DON’T – smoke when investigating.  The smoke ruins the pictures.

DON’T -  play with a ouija board or have a séance or bullshit like that.  It only attracts bad elements.

DO - pay attention to the electronics you take in with you.  They will react when ghosts are near you.  The battery will randomly drain, flashlights will turn on and off on their own.  Pay attention to what rooms it happens in.

DO – pay attention to your surroundings.  Always know the quickest route out.

Equipment

digital camera

flashlight (only use when you have to because they will alert security of your presence)

cellphone (for emergency use only, don’t take pictures with your cellphone)

video camera (if you have one.  use it on night vision)

How to Take a Picture

Tell the ghosts you want to take a picture of them and that you aren't going to harm them.  Tell them that once you finish taking your pictures you will leave and that they aren't to follow you.  Before taking each picture say "if you'd like to have your picture taken get in front of the camera".  It may sound dumb but if you don’t ask them to be in your picture they probably won’t be.
