ELLE DRIVING SCHOOL

Learn how to drive safely

DRIVING THEORY TEST

What is it? You will be asked 60 multiple choice questions, some require more
than 1 answer(you will be told how many answers to give). You MUST pass this
before you are allowed to book your practical driving test.

Where do I go? The Bristol Test centre is in Tower House 3rd floor in Fairfax St.
Broadmead.

When do I take it? When you consistently get 2 or 3 questions wrong on mock
tests and feel confident that you know the material.Bear in mind that the certificate
lasts for two years and should you not pass your practical test in this time then you
will need to re-take this test.

How do I book it? You can book by post, phone or internet. The relevant information
is on the DSA website.

How do I study for it? You will definitely need to invest in a
Highway Code and it is strongly recommended you look in your local bookshop
for the Driving Manual published by the DSA.It is also possible to buy books and
CD-Rom's containing the complete set of questions you may be asked-there are
several thousand possible questions!!Alternatively use  of the links on this page to
access some practice tests on-line.

Any hints and tips Take the test seriously and make use of some of the material
suggested above to prepare thoroughly.Ensure you get to the test centre early and
once allocated a computer ensure you are comfortable with how to use it before
you proceed on to the test.(You can answer practice questions if you are unsure of
the system and how it works).Once started on the test do not change answers once
you have decided ,unless you know it is wrong....instinct is usually right! If you are
unsure of a question you may 'flag' it on the system which allows you to return to it
at the end.Check all your answers before you finally finish the test.

What's the hazard perception test all about? This test is also done at the same
time as the theory test, both must be passed in order to receive a pass certificate. It
is aimed at making you more aware of hazards on and near the road, you must click
the button as soon as you see a hazard developing.there is an official DSA dvd
available if you wish to purchase, alternatively your instructor should be able to
advise you on what types of things to respond to.

GOOD LUCK
