Trip To Italia ~ 7th April - 13th April

Introduction

The vacay team consists of 5 members:
Rizal (Warwick); Wan (London); Ihab (wink wink); Zul (Belfast); & Izwan (Liverpool)
Our little adventure started on the 8th of April :: right after my term ended ::
Stansted Airport, London
All 4 headed for Turin except for myself :: headed direct to Milan ::
And so our journey beginsss... ... ...

Milano

Arrived in Bergamo Airport early in the morning :: Headed straight for Milan City - hopefully to be re-united with the other 4 :: Reached Stazione Central and had 5 hours full of boredom! :: What else would you do when you are all alone?? Cam-whore!!!

Joyfully re-united :: checked in Bristol Hotel - 4 star :: Headed straight to Metro - connection Centrale FS - Duomo :: Snap snap around Piazza del Duomo and entered Galleria Vittorio Emanuele ::

Bloody 'cekik darah' those shops in the Galleria :: Ran out of the arena :: Headed for Piazza della Scala :: Snap snap with Leonardo statue - seems familiar??

Headed for the streets now :: Looking for anything attractive - seemingly none available :: Scusi, scusi!! Direction pleaseeee :: Asking for directions were just as fun as licking the gelato - ice cream!!

Nitey nite all :: The other 4 were tired, and so I hit the city on my own :: Alone and bored, I got back to the hotel around 9pm and slept straight away after a Jacuzzi and a shower :: Seriously, got bored with Milan already after a day or so ::
The next day - had breakfast in McD and snappy snappy around 'anyaman telur' ::
U can just imagine how bored we were!!

Milan?? Not as impressive, but worth a visit :: Too bad - the city is just sooo not my thing :: Shopping shopping kejadah?? Not me laa NOT ME!! Cannot la live in this city :: Quick quick!! I wanna berambosss ::
Headed back for Bergamo Airport to leave Milan for Roma!!

Roma :: Intermission I

The road to Roma was but the very beginning of a marvelous time spent in Italia :: Not everything was disastrous back in Milano - we did enjoy our time :: but the trip to Italia will never be paved with excitements if Roma had never existed ::

For me, Roma IS Italia!!

Roma

Arrived in Roma in the middle of the night :: Checked into the Youth Hostel and spent the nite chit-chatting :: then Zzzz Zzzzz Krohhh krohhh Zzzzz ::

Don't know where to start :: Every moment is memorable in Roma :: Even the most alien thing like St Mary Maggiore Church is of significance :: the youth hostel is 5 minutes walk from the church :: we took most of the pics from the back of the church instead of the front :: the TourBus starting-point was from this church ::
hence our mini adventure officially started from here too...

Even the 1st stop had already caught my heart :: Piazza Venezia :: spent the 1st 3 hours just around this Piazza :: had breakfast and walked to Colloseum :: Pure amazement!! :: Marveled by the grandiose attraction, we'll definitely come again tonite!! ::

Weather was not as great :: Rainy day rainy all the way - so we caught the TourBus and complete the tour non-stop till the 6th Check Point :: Walked through Via del Corso - Gelato gelati!! :: Walked and walked till we reached Piazza Venezia again ::

Rain went away - clear sky :: Caught the next TourBus - Headed for Vatican City :: The sunny day in St Peter Square, Vatican - couldn't be any better :: Hoped to meet the Pope, but the Pope met not our hope :: But who cares, the whole evening was spent in Vatican & it's totally worth it!!

Nite came but Roma shone with glittering lights :: Sight-seeing around the Colloseum during the night was simply astonishing :: Yet again, marveled by the marvelously marvelous marvel... Waaaahhhhhhhhh ::

Yet another day :: Visited the historical sites :: Behind the remainings of the Roman Empire, there are thousands of untold mysteries :: Spoookyyy

And our journey in Roma ended with a peaceful view around Fontana di Trevi ::
Baling duit nak
?? Wishy wish wishy wish - tahyooolll tahyoollll... Hehe

Roma :: Intermission II

2 days spent in Roma - a day more than those spent in Milan & Venice :: and still the heart will to stay put and enjoy the city over and over again :: 2 days were not enough to satisfy my love for Roma :: I left Roma for Venezia with a heavy heart - bounded to love Roma as much as I could and should :: I love you Roma... I love you!!!

Roma certainly IS Italia!!
And to leave Roma IS like leaving Italia behind into the darkness of memories .. .. ..
... ... sob sob sob ... ...

Venezia

Flew away from Roma :: sob sob ::
And so we arrived in Venezia, to enjoy the 1st nite to the max!!
But to realize the next day that Venezia suits best with the word "Indah Khabar Dari Rupa"

True, it's a beautiful city, but to describe it in such a way is quite an over-estimation :: Other than the canal and the unique walk-only streets, Venezia didn't impress me as much :: Aku rasa kampung aku nun lagi best ... ... :P ... ... What say you??

The central was quite lively and happening - but that's THAT I guess?? What else can I speak about Venezia other than it was a good exercise to walk across the city-of-maze from one corner to another ::

And so we entered a restaurant in Venezia...

The Pizza?? Well, ok... We gave them credits for that :: Yum yum tapi tak kenyang...
Then we ordered the main meals :: Waited quite shortly and the service was great!! But the meals?? Urghhh... I'd rather stuff up my stomach with Sainsbury's products instead!! You know what I mintak?? Spaghetti hitam dakwat sotong - coz the waiter said that it's the original Venezian foods :: Now I'm truthfully thankful to be born as anak Melayu ... ... :P ... ... kusss semangat dakwat hitam dia...

And let's not talk about the charge for the foods :: 5 cuts of Pizzas, 5 plates of noodles, 2 juices and 2 glasses of plain water + service + tax :: Guess the grand total ??

Hmmm... Let it be la... Once in a lifetime kot...
Then we walked and walked the boring walks... to reach a canal full of Gondolas...

And the famous Gondola?? No discussion whatsoever on this matter puhlizzz... :: Walk away walk away!! :: 80Euro per ride?? - I'd rather go to Thorpe Park again and again and again :: Even visiting Syazwan in France wouldn't cost me as much!! kan Wan kan?? Hehe

And so our journey in Venezia ended with a bus to catch for the Treviso Airport to Stansted, London

The End

Overall comments
:: I enjoyed Italia ::

Comparing this vacay with the one I had with Syazwan in my 1st year :: City wise :: I'd actually rather go back to Colmar than to re-visit Milano, or even to a certain extent Venezia :: Don't ask me why - just my sincere feelings hehe

But Roma is another story :: Roma certainly stands above them all - the BEST city I've ever visited so far (since I started my course in the UK, of course) :: For Roma, I'd do anything to get back to the city ;) Loved love loooooooving it...

All in all, we ended our exciting journey across Italia in 5 days :: 8th - 12th of April :: We had our ups and downs, but overall I rated my holiday as 4 out of 5 stars :: That's quite high isn't it?? :: Well well, the reason for the high rate is not because of the cities I visited (exclude Roma please :: wink wink) but rather because of the folks I decided to go with to spend the splendid 5 days vacay across Italia!!

And so for that :: Thank you so much Rizal, Wan, Zul & Izwan for the great time we have spent together!! Missing you guys like crazy already!!!

And to all of you who have read the entry from beginning till the end... ... ...
THANK YOU FOR ENJOYING THE ENTRY
!!
AND CERTAINLY THANK YOU FOR ALWAYS VISITING A-N-I !!

God Bless and Adios
