This
section of my website is dedicated to those Lekku
sporting aliens, (Alien if you're not a Twi'Lek
of course) the Twi'Leks. I decided to dedicate
a page to them becuase I find the female of the
species fascinating. To be sporting however, coverage
on this page will also include the other variety.
This page will cover the Twi'Leks, both in general
and noteable individuals as well as items related
to Twi'Leks such as their home planet Ryloth.
Of
course I found Oola as captivating for the three
seconds of air time that she recieved in Return
of the Jedi as everyone else did. But she was
there and then a snack, not much time to develop
an interest but the seeds were planted.
Then
came Return of the Jedi Special Edition and the
extended dance number. What's this? More Oola
screen time? Another Twi'Lek of different pigmentation?
Cool. To tell the truth I have a weakness for
redheads and was much more interested in Rystall
at this time. But again the seeds that had been
sown were now taking root.
It
wasn't until the Phantom Menace that the true
attraction to Twi'Lek females occured. It was
the blue twin massuses of Sebulba that did it
to me. They are very sexy with that blue skin,
those fishnet costumes and those collars of thiers.
By the way finding aliens attractive is a definite
warning sign you watch too much science-fiction.
But I knew that when I found that half Klingon/half
Romulan lady on Nextgen appealing.

Twi'lek
A species of humanoids with twin head tentacles,
they are sometimes dismissively called worm-heads.
The dual taillike appendages called lekku grow
out of the backs of their heads and can be used
to communicate with other Twi'lek. Native to the
planet Ryloth in the Outer Rim, they speak a language
that combines verbal components with subtle head-tail
movements. Twi'leks cultivate edible molds and
fungi and raise cowlike rycrits for their meat
and hides.
The species is generally nonviolent, preferring
to use cunning instead of force. Twi'leks live
in vast city complexes, located on their planet's
dark side to escape the heat of the planet's surface.
Each complex is autonomous, governed by a group
of five Twi'leks, the head clan, who jointly oversee
production, trade, and other daily endeavors.
The leaders are born into their positions and
serve until one of them dies. Then the others
are banished to die in the Bright Lands of the
planet's light side, making room for the next
generation of leaders.
Twi'leks depend on neighboring systems, pirates,
smugglers, and merchants for their contact with
the rest of the galaxy. They attract these ships
with their chief export, ryll, a mineral with
legitimate medicinal uses that has also become
a popular and dangerously addictive recreational
drug, particularly in the Corporate Sector. Near
defenseless, Twi'leks also face constant raids
by off-world slavers. Bib Fortuna, top aide to
criminal kingpin Jabba the Hutt, was a Twi'lek,
as was Oola, the dancing girl killed by Jabba.
Twi'lek
A
dry drink with a piquant bouquet and slightly
sweet nose, it is ingested in abundance on Tatooine.

Ryloth
Located
in the Outer Rim near Tatooine, it is the principal
planet in the Ryloth system and home to the Twi'leks,
a humanoid species with two large, fleshy head-tails
growing from their skulls. The Twi'leks call these
prehensile appendages lekku and can communicate
through subtle lekku gestures, although they also
speak Twi'leki.
Mountainous Ryloth rotates so slowly that its
rotation is equal to the length of its orbit around
the sun. One side of the planet always faces the
sun and the only habitable areas are in the band
of twilight separating the two sides. Heat storms
in Ryloth's thin atmosphere help to distribute
warmth throughout the twilight zone, where the
Twi'leks live in a network of mountain catacombs.
Wind-driven turbines power their primitive industrial
civilization, and raw fungi and cowlike rycrits
are raised for food. Ryloth's primary exports
are the addictive ryll spice and Twi'lek females,
who are desired for their seductive dancing skills.
The Twi'lek government is organized around a five-member
head clan that is in charge of all community decisions.
When one member of the clan dies, the remaining
four are exiled into the day-side desert (the
Bright Lands) and a new head clan is selected.
A major Twi'lek corporation, Galactic Exotics,
developed orchards on the planet Belsavis. Ryloth
is also home to Schaum Assoc., a Twi'lek advertising
agency that pioneered media and public relations
for the Corporate sector.
Years ago, a small Imperial refueling center and
training outpost was established on Ryloth, supported
by the Empire yet often used by smugglers. Tarkin,
then a commander, had plans to turn the refueling
station into an important base. jabba the Hutt's
majordomo, Bib Fortuna, was one of the first to
widely sell ryll spice off-planet, which attracted
the Empire's attention and brought slavers to
Ryloth. Fortuna was sentenced to death but escaped
and returned later with an army of Jabba's thugs
to exact revenge. Seven Ryloth cities were burned
and Jabba took slaves and riches, while Fortuna
rescued Nat Secura, the last son of a great Twi'lek
family. Fortuna made plans to someday return with
Secura and rule Ryloth as he saw fit. Not long
before the Battle of Endor, For-tuna enslaved
a clan chief's daughter named Oola, and trained
her to serve as a dancer in Jabba's palace. Maw
Installation scientist Tol Sivron, Rogue Squadron
pilot Nawara Ven, and the ancient Jedi Knight
Tott Doneeta were also natives of Ryloth.
After the New Republic retook Coruscant, Rogue
Squadron flew a mission to Ryloth to obtain ryll
kor, which was mixed with bacta to produce rylca,
a cure for the Krytos virus. They landed at Kala'uun
Starport, within one of the mountains known as
the Lonely Five. The Twi'lek warrior Tal'dira
and his pilots later joined with the squadron;
they flew X-TIE hybrids called Chir'daks, or Deathseeds.
