Once more. I was starting to get worried for a while, that I was going to listen to pop for the rest of my life. But that was until I dug out some old tapes and recieved several cool trades and orders from norway and germany. Check the Norway section. God Jul.

Here´s some good norwegian links:
Snack Ohm Tapes
(Tapelabel from the 80´s still going strong. Has rereleased many cool tape comps on cdr. Site also has some history and other info)
Nakkeskudd records (One of the new recordlabels popping up in norway. Has a distro and many new releases coming)
Norwegian Leather records (Home of the N-beat. Is about to release killer stuff: So Much Hate, Bannlyst and Svart Framtid)
Cradle to the Grave records (Reissues: Siste Dagers Helvete and soon Barn av Regnbuen)
Kolokol (best band in norway the last years)
Diskografi.no (Here you can search for norwegian artists)
Punk Rock Norway (Basically just a list of some norge records. Has a little more than Kill from the heart)
Urört (Here you can listen to norwegian music. Has many good punk stuff. Try Dead Barna for example)

Dark Funeral- Attera totus sanctus CD (new hit from sweden´s fastest band probably. AND they´re playing Malmö in february!)
Joanna Newsom- The milk-eyed mender CD (sounds seriously crazy. I understand people who can´t stand this)
Son House- Delta blues A proper introduction CD (one of the early, not so popular but highly influential blues artists. Hung out with Charley Patton at Jeffrey´s Plantation. Became a disillusioned alcoholic untilhe was rediscovered during the blues revival.)
Svartidaudir- S/t 7" (finally I recieved this. Classic norwegian hc from mid 90´s)
Tegan & Sara- So Jealous + If it was you CD´s (Canadian twins are all the rage)
Judge- New York crew 7" (the toughest band ever?)
Gorilla Angreb- Det skall drikkes mere end för Song (off s/t 7")
V/A- Z Totality... K Prosperite?!? Kompilace CZ Punku 1984-1992 Tape (The title says it all really. I had it for a while, but only now can I fully appreciate the greatness of the tracks from Zastavka Milec, Fronta 89, Punkova Milice and more wellknown bands like Telex, Kriticka SItuace, FPB)

24/10-05

Here´s another update. As always, check my lists and get in touch for trades.

This is my faves at the moment:
Dresden Dolls- S/t CD
22-20´s- S/t CD
V/A- Goodmorning blues Anthology 1920-1942 4xCD
Neuron- Gleichschritt LP (
homepage)
Pete Johnson- 1939-1941 CD (

Grazhdanskaya Oborona- Armagedon pops CD
Jackie Brenston- Rocket 88 (song)

Superapes from the villages of Zborov and Cadca in northwestern Slovakia. Soon to release an LP. Pic by me, summer 2004.

8/5-05

The below mentioned panzerplatte is out and soon in stock here at EKIRE. It looks like this:
ТАНКИ-ПАНКИ 001
Also, I have some crazy great new records from Poland in the distro, some reviewed below, buy them. What I´ve been listening to:
Terror Art- Baricada antifa Tape (romania)
Antidotum- Testowane na ludziach (poland)
Dark Throne- Hate them CD (norway)
ZZ Top- first 7 albums (texas)
Muddy Waters- Folk singer CD (Mississippi)
Little Richard- Lucille
No Pigs- S/t 7" (Holland)

2/2-05

I´m starting to enjoy this internet thing now, it´s kinda helpful. Big news: I decided to cooperate in the release of See You in Hell/Massgenocide Process split 7" under the name Tanky Panky Panzerplatter. So I´ll have a bunch of them in a couple of months. Both bands from czech republic.
New records in recordtrade section and lots of new bulgarian and czech tapes in that section. If you´re interested in german punk and new wave- there´s a lot there too. Let´s trade.

Here´s my playlist:

Tribute to Rejestracja LP
I never thought I´d like this very much. Tributes are usually not that fun. A bunch of crappy bands trying to sound like their heroes. At best there´s some band not trying to sound like the original, just stealing some cool riffs. But this is different. It´s just one band doing all songs, which makes for a more complete impression, both of the band on the record and Rejestracja. Now to the heroes. Rejestracja was pretty wellknown in their homeland, but only recorded a few tracks for compilations like Jak Punk to Punk (rereleased and available on Cd with bonus tracks- buy it), 1984 the third and Tour de Farce 2&3. Some cassettes has been circulating with some live and rehearsal stuff but no vinyl on their own was released before the band split (apparently one of the members died). So the music you say. Well, it´s fast, it´s tight, it´s sung in polish language, it has some double vocals, guest artists from Post Regiment and Homomilitia among others, it has a song about Reagan, the riffs are very cool. Raging Reagan era hc from eastern europe- on twelve inches, what more can you ask? Released on Nict Nic Nie Wie.

Post Regiment- S/t LP
Maybe my greatest discovery the last year. I´d say this is hc comparable to Moskwa´s first LP, but with more frustration (like Razzia), more melodic guitars and choruses (like La Fraction). Nika, the vocalist, is really great at screaming, and I can´t compare it to others. But as it´s all in polsish, the only one that comes to mind is Agnes of Homomilitia and Lost (the language really does matter for the genre!), and while they might be equally pissed of, this is not as screamy, and Nika´s screams follow the melodies more, never cracks. Great great great. If you heard their other two LP´s, this is very different. Being their first it seems they evolved more speed and brutality later on in their career, still very good though. I´m kind of glad they split up, so I don´t have to worry about hearing some disappointing rock LP as with Moskwa. This was first released on CD in 1993, now on vinyl by Nict Nic Nie Wie.

Gash demo
Recorded in `85, this demo is one of Australia´s many secrets. Girls Against Sexist Hype later did a split LP w/Depression, but I hold this demo as their best material, much rawer and less thrashmetallic. Crazy lyrics too:

We´re here to give you gash thrash
we´re not into glamour, just wanna thrash
wail & scream, loud and mean
that´s the way our musics gotta be
Out the way we´re here to thrash
out the way we´re gash thrash
stick madonna and cindi lauper
right up your fuckin´ arce
stereotyped women
those chicks are just a farce

Novi Cvetya- 83-98 Tape (Mutant rekords)
A very unknown band to most people. Being from Bulgaria never was a great start for any band that wants to hit the charts. I bought the tape after hearing about the CD that came out in 2004, not knowing anything about the band or music. I found out they play punkrock. But with many levels. Some songs are very rock´n´rollish, some are faster, but most of the stuff is midtempo. The singer is great, and adds a great deal to the overall very infectious melody. The song Patriot with its great chorus might be the most played punktune in my flat the last month. get in touch with AON

GISM- Anarchy violence LP (boot)
There´s no denying it. Has their killer 12" Detestation and their (maybe even more killer) comptracks from The Punx, Great Punk Hits and Hc Unlawful Assembly. I hope no one ever tells me what their lyrics are about (I think).

Other housefavourites include
-Abaddon- Wet za wet LP (pol 86)
-Black Keys- Rubber factory / Thickfreakness CD´s
-Revju- 88-89 Tape (Bulgaria)
-Skjit-Lars (Norway, send me their demos)

14/12-04

Lots of great records out there, not enough money. I added some of my favourite links on the navbar to the left and also recieved See you in Hell 12" and More Bad News/Sheeva Yoga 7" for the distro. Here´s some of my faves the last months:

Mareridt. After Nightmare and Painajainen, here´s your danish equivalent. If you still haven´t heard them, you probably will. Members are from Malmö and Copenhagen and know what they´re doing after playing raw distorted mangel for years.  Great liveact as well. One member was previously in Svart Fana. Check out Mareridt homepage for releases.

Machetazo/General Surgery split 7"
Goryfied records has released pretty great records so far. Machetazo´s tracks are heavy as hell and continue in the same spirit as Carne de cementario Lp. General Surgery was unheard by me but surprise and blast out a few really tight and thick sounding goretracks. If you can stand the strange love for dead people, check out Goryfied.com.

Grazhdanskaya Oborona
A russian classic. Very beautiful music that usually seems to have something to do with punk, but their influences are from everywhere. There are lots of fascist rumours going on, but most people who spread them don´t know russian. Me neither, but a friend says they had pretty childish lyrics in the past and mr. Letov might be regarded a nationalist or communist, but not fascist. So I´ll trust that. Petershop sells a lot of CD´s for cheap prices.

1382- the Persian new wave Lp
I almost can´t believe it. A compilation Lp with rock, punk and elctronic music from Iran. I would´ve loved this record no matter the sound, but it has some very cool tracks on. But beware if you´re a diehard punkguy, cause as the title says, it´s a new wave comp. The bands sounds very different from each other. The not so fashionable label Tian an Men 89 released it (surprised?). Check out their homepage for skapunk from Madagascar, punk rock´n roll from Kosovo, or why not a Kazakhstan compilation called Steppe-punks!
Tian an Men 89. Distributed by Darbouka. Be sure to buy the eastern european punk bible: Discography of eastern european punk music 1977-1999.

14/10-04

Some new records, tapes and a small change in the distro. Current favourites:

Razzia- Tag ohne schatten LP + Ausflug mit Franziska LP

An old german band. Not so brutal but lots of melodies and frustration! I´m falling in love with these album from 83 and 86 respectively. If you want to get rid of the vinyls, get in touvh! Info page on Europunk website: Razzia

Open Wound- Stranglehold 7"
Recently released record on swedsih Goryfied records. These songs have been lost for several years, but they´re very welcomed. Same brutal aussie grind as their previous records. Goryfied records

Bannlyst- CDr
A truely awesome comp with their 7", demo and split tape w/Angor Wat. I heard they have a discography LP coming out, and they´re very much worth it, cause this is so raw and great distorted hc in the norwegian vein.

28/8-04

I just made this homepage. It will be under construction for a good while. I put it up in order to make it easier for friends who wants to trade with me, it will be no webzine or pretentious homepage, I just realized it´s easier putting my lists on a permanent internet page than sending them around via email.

Here´s some of the stuff I´ve been playing a lot lately:

See You in Hell- Umet se prodat 12"
This latest release from Brno takes SYIH into a more straight forward direction. No more metallic experiments or blastbeats. Pure czechcore with influences from Japan. I´ll get a few copies for sale soon. SYIH homepage

V/A- Balkan punk CDr
Killer tracks from Kud Idijoti, Kokosha Glava and Vae Victis. Mostly punkrock in different styles and mostly from Turkey, Bulgaria and Greece. Contact: artik@junkmail.com or ask me to copy it.

More Bad News/Sheeva Yoga split 7"
Two czech bands who shares one member. MBN are ten times better than their 7” but still the modern metalhardcore, reminds me of Ekkaia sometimes. Sheeva Yoga has a couple of splits allready but this is the best. Sounds almost like the swedes Jam Sessions (when they were still cool). Not afraid of experiments but still sane enough to be really raw and fast hc. Not only is this a good record, it also has a very neat cover, ha! I´ll get some copies soon. Write MBN: morebadnews@email.cz or Sheeva Yoga: sheevayoga@popstar.com

Cerebral Turbulency- Impenetrable LP
Oh so good grindcore. Straight on all the way, great sound, more punk than metal and no stupid lyrics. Their previous stuff was more goregrind sounding I think and now I hear they have changed even more. Czech republic again. CT Homepage. Hyenzym records: hyenzym@centrum.cz

Siekiera- Demo
A classic for fans of eastern europe hc. Got their name after a friend of the band described their music as an axe (Siekiera=Axe in polish). And rightly so. This was the first brutal hc from Poland. When they started to release records they played cold wave (but the singer started Armia instead, another great band), but there´s a boot 7” with some demo and comptracks that is really raw.
