WELCOME
This is a home page for the stories of Eirene Hogan. Stories about everyday people trying to make their way in a world which is sometimes hard and unkind.
I’ve been writing ever since teenagehood when I first discovered the joy of escaping into stories, and of
perhaps showing the world my own unique view.
Influenced early on by such writers as Mary Renault and D H Lawrence,
I hope to try and capture some of the beauty they do.
I was lucky enough to grow up in the 1960s and escape all the hang-ups of the 50's,
and the returning conservatism of the 00's.
I feel moved and angered by society's pressure to conform and control.
In my writing I like to examine the difficulties that kind, good, loving people have to face
when told by society that they don’t fit in.
Please note while these are not "Adult stories" many are stories written about adults and do include adult themes.
I also write some stories under the pen name "Alex Hogan". Those stories will have that name as the author.
