Welcome to the EGVGA, the site for European growers of giant vegetables. The European Giant Vegetable Grower's Association was organized in 2008 to promote the hobby of growing giant vegetables, including pumpkins and squash. Its aim is to provide information to all growers, document giant vegetables and award growers of outstanding specimens. The EGVGA provides not only growing information, but also guidelines for weigh-offs, seed packages for members, digital newsletters and weigh-off results. If you are not a member, please join us and reap the benefits. Information can be found on the member's page. You don't have to live in Europe to be a member.

European Seed Promotion
The EGVGA member (Europe or elsewhere) that grows the largest pumpkin using a seed from a pumpkin grown by a European EGVGA member in 2008, will receive a cash prize of 250 euros.
This can be any seed, including your own. But it must be a seed from 2008 and it must have been grown in Europe by one of our members. And you must be a paid member of the EGVGA before April 1, 2009.
We only accept nominations of officially weighed fruit (at a recognized weigh-off). No damaged or estimated fruit will be accepted. If necessary, you must be able to prove that the pumpkin was grown from a European 2008 seed.
You must email giantveg@hotmail.com after the weigh-off to enter your fruit in the promotion. The prize money will only be given to growers that notify the board.
