WNY Businessman Touts Job Creation Above All Other Concerns

EGRIU: GET EVERYONE A JOB FIRST...TALK ABOUT OTHER THINGS LATER...

Two years ago, Buffalo resident Joe Johnson had a good job that allowed him to be right on time with his mortgage payments every single month. His wife, Margo, spent most of her time riding herd on their three kids, though she did take in some internet secretarial work to help the family make ends meet. Now only 24 months later, the outlook for the Johnson family looks much different. The change began, quite abruptly over 18 months ago when Joe lost his position with a local manufacturer due to the floundering national economy.

"Things have gone from bad to worse ever since that day," Joe reports. "I haven't had any steady work in a long time. My unemployment insurance has run out and now the only income we have coming in comes from a part time clerical job my wife has. Most mornings, I stay home to watch the kids, wondering if things are ever going to get good again. Meanwhile, many of our public officials seem to talk about everything else but creating jobs. When is someone going to come along who understands that what we need are jobs and not anything else but jobs."

Now Buffalo businessman and community leader Eddie Egriu has decided to take on this challenge.

A possible candidate for public office himself in 2010, Egriu is pledging to devote his entire campaign to the quest for good paying positions for hard working people like Joe.

"If I decide to run for public office this year, I will dedicate my campaign as well as all the time I'm in office to making good paying employment opportunities available to everyone who wants to work," Egriu pledges. "I will do this by working to cut government spending and taxes while giving tax incentives to small business, which has always been the economic engine of America."

A veteran businessman himself, as well as a part time vocational instructor, Egriu has always gone out of his way in his own hiring to give employment to the long term unemployed.

"I have always hired the forgotten people whenever I could and I continue to follow this practice today," he reports. "Those who have not gotten a fair shake in life from our economic system have always been my first concern. Now that this group includes most WNYers, I am even more dedicated to this task. If I should decide to run for public office this year, my fight will be your fight...While others talk about everything else under the sun, my only concern, in addition to protecting our country and supporting our men and women in uniform in Iraq and Afghanistan, will be creating jobs for hard working people...Let the lobbyists talk about other things. My preoccupation will be jobs, jobs, jobs until everyone who needs one has a good paying position."

Give a dollar for change

Armed with the catchy campaign fund raisng slogan, "Give A Dollar For Change," I am running for public office this year with the goal of being a voice for those who are losing their homes, for people who desperately need a job, for all the hard working people who simply can't keep up with the constant demands of the bill collector on the telephone or the taxman at the door.

Unlike the other candidates, I understand how it is to have a hard time finding a job for yourself and your children. My goal will be, not to give more to those who have but to give enough to those who need.

I will cut the excess size and scope of our bloated federal, state, and local governments while keeping taxes down and doing everything I can to create jobs, especially in the world of small business, which I know so well.

I will fight to bring our troops home now from Afghanisan and Iraq, while investing more in homeland security and better communication amongst our law enforcement agencies.

Above all, I will do everything I can to be the candidate of the forgotten middle class and working poor in America, who have worked too hard for too little for too long.

Buffalo Businessman: Spend Fraction of Afghan $$ To Keep America Safe

BILLIONS FOR KABUL AND NOTHING TO PROTECT AMERICA'S AIRPORTS?...EGRIU SUGGESTS A BETTER WAY

As our nation continues to send billions of dollars and thousands of soliders to distant lands in order to "keep American safe," Buffalo businessman and community activist Eddie Egriu has a question:

Why not spend a fraction of the billions we are expending overseas to keep our own homeland safe?

"Right now, we are spending all this money in Iraq and Afghanistan and we are being told that we need to do this to keep America safe from terrorism," Egriu acknowledges. "Exactly how sending all those billions and all those thousands of soldiers thousands of miles away makes us safer, I'm not sure. But, I do know this: In the light of that Christmas Day terrorist attempt that everyone is talking about, it's very clear that we are not doing enough to keep our own people safe right here in the USA."

So what's the solution?

"I think that what we need to do is to take a fraction of all that money we are sending to Kabul and Baghdad and keep it right here to make our own country safer from terrorism," Egriu proposes. "Instead of spending so much in the deserts and mountains of Asia, why not spend some of that money to hire more security guards at our airports and to make sure our airports are equipped with the latest and most effective security technolology, all of it to be manufactured in the good old USA, of course. This is something we can do to thwart terrorism that is relatively inexpensive and would improve our security immediately."

As for our current involvement in that burial ground for empires known as Afghanistan, Egriu has a few ideas on that subject too.

"We can't subdue all of Afghanistan," he points out. "No one can, not even that country's own government really controls that nation. What we should do is concentrate on protecting the capital city and a few enclaves with our troops and let our air power take care of the rest. That way we would minimize our casualities while achieving our stated objective, namely to keep the Taliban out of power and Al Queda on the defensive so they can't launch attacks on us...Above all, we've got to remember what our real purpose is, both in other countries and here at home, and then do everything we can to achieve that goal."

Allen Goes Non-Political...Egriu's New Site..."Clandestine, Negarious Agreement?"

WHEN DID ALLEN BECOME NON-POLITICAL?...EGRIU WEB SITE GROWING...A ONE FINGERED GOP SALUTE AT THE GRAVE OF A MAYOR?

Among the more interesting developments to emerge from Monday's interviews held by the Buffalo Common Council of Ellicott District Council candidates was the critique offered by ex Commissioner Don Allen of what he seems to feel is the excessively political aura surrounding City Hall these days.

"Wait a minute," said Councilwoman Bonnie Russell. "I worked for you for four years and I don't remember you being so non-political."

The problem is that no one else remembers Allen being non-political during the long years he spent serving Mayors Jimmy Griffin and Tony Masiello either.

In other news, informed sources are telling us that the new web site being developed by local businessman and political activist Eddie Egriu is gaining members at a rapid rate and from all over the world even though it's not scheduled to be officially launched until after the first. For the record it is: www.egriu.webs.com

Why Not Use Our Jobs Program To Make Americans Safer?

Written by Glenn Gramigna, Editor

EGRIU'S PLAN FOR JOBS AND INCREASED SECURITY FOR ALL AMERICANS

What does America need most?...Jobs and protection from terrorism?

Now Buffalo businessman and community activist Eddie Egriu has developed a plan that would create good paying jobs while also making all of us safer from terrorist threats such as the one that developed on that commerical airliner bound for Detroit the other day.

"Why not take all of those billions of federal dollars that are supposedly going to be spent to create jobs in America and use them to enhance our security, using private companies that would create private sector jobs, not strictly government employment," he asks. "For example, right now only 10% of the packages that come into this country are inspected. Other industrialized nations, such as many European countries routinely inspect 90% or more. So why not give private companies the contracts to hire the inspectors we need, thus in a single initiative, creating thousands of good paying jobs and makng all of us much safer?"

Why not do the same with airline safety and food safety, Egriu goes on to ask.

"We could make sure that nothing ever happens like this incident that took place just before that plane landed in Detroit by hiring more airport guards and inspectors and by making sure we have the latest, most effective bomb detecting equipment (all of it to be manufactured in the USA, of course) in every single airport in America," he proposes. "After all, this is the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave. All of our people should be working at good paying jobs with good benefits, including health insurance, and they should feel that they are completely safe when they eat a hamburger or take a flight...

"We could make that kind of prosperity and that precious feeling of safety a reality again for ourselves and our children by adopting my 'Security and Prosperity For America Now Plan."...
