Truck Fire on Rt. 291 - Engine and Ambulance 12 repsonded to a trash truck fire in the Old Robbins lot. Assistant Chief Lynch arrived with a 18 Wheeler Trash Truck that had light smoke showing from the front of the trailor. Engine 12 led off with a booster line and a ground ladder. A quick knock was made of the small fire and the company was available within 30min.
Pipeline transferred again - Pipeline 12 was transferred over to station 82 Chester City. The Pipeline along with Ladder 65, Reserve Engines from 82 and Engine 57 covered for just under 4 hours running one building response which all units were recalled apon arrival.
Pipeline heads back to 68 - Today at 1308hrs the Pipeline was transferred over to Station 68 along with Engine 57-2. 68 was operating around the corner from there station at a multi-alarm fire. The Pipeline staffed with 6 covered for just over 3 hours without turning a wheel.
Then there was 1 - The 12 HOUSE is down to one engine for ruffly two or three days. Engine 12 is currently at HALO having a pump issue taken care of. So until then we will be running the Pipeline and then 12-8 aka QRS 12 as a man power vehicle for calls. We hope to get the Engine back asap.
Pipeline transfered to 68 & Ambulance assist on Marine accident- At 0437hrs the Pipeline along with Engine 49 and Ladder 65 were sent to Station 68 while they were operating a working fire in the Upper Chi-Chester section of the county. Units were on scene for just over 2 hours and ran no assignments. Just before the company was about to leave for the Tinicum Fire works the Ambulance was sent to our boat dock to assist Marine 48 with the Boating accident with injuries. Marine 48 was on scene of a one vessel accident with 3 injuries. 12-7 along with 48-7 transported 3 total to local hospitals for evaluations. After that was all said and done the Company attend the annual fire works in Tinicum Twp. A good time was had by all and thanks to 48 for the invite.
Car Wash and Minor Rescue at Crum Creek - Crews gathered this morning at the 12 HOUSE to have a fund rasier car wash. Members spent4 hours washing cars and raising a few hundred dollars. A special thanks to those who came out to help and to those who came out and had your vehicle cleaned up. Just after 2000hrs the tones went out to assist the police at the Crum Creek by the Eddystone Crossings complex. Eddystone Police were on scene with children that were playing along the creek and had gotten them selves trapped on a wall. Engine 12 arrived and placed in a 14' ladder in service to help remove the subjects. Crews were clear in 14min.
CO alarm with sick people - Just after midnight the company was it out for the CO Alarm. Engine 12 staffed with 6 arrived along with Assistant 12 ( Lynch ) and started to meter the building. While doing so the tenants reported they had changed the batteries earlier and since then it had been beeping. Interior crews reported getting reading of 21ppm but could not locate the source. Two subjects were complaining of head aches so the Ambulance made the response to check them both out. The Engine crew began ventilation of the building and while doing so found a small gas leak two doors down from the original incident. PECO gas was called into the scene for the leak. Crews remained on scene for about an hour and a half until all units cleared. 12-7 handled 2 refusals of transport.
PECO Sub-Station awareness - Tonight the 12 HOUSE along with members from 07, 08, 48 and 57 gathered at the Eddystone Light House Hall to attend a PECO Sub-Station emergencies class. The group of ruffly 40 people learned to identify centain pieces of equipment on the properties and there hazards........ but most of all, CALL PECO AND DONT ENTER THE YARD. Thank you to everyone who attended.
Island box assignment - Just before 0100hrs Stations 48, 7 & 8 were sent to Zagame Carpets for the AFA. Ladder 48 arrived with fire showing from the rear and up graded the assignment which added Pipeline 12. While the Pipeline staffed with 6 was hitting the street Powhattan Command ( 48-9B ) was placing the fire under control. Ladder 48 had knocked a small fire in the garage area but had a heavy smoke condition through out. Ventilation was placed in service and the Pipeline was clear in just under 30min. A few hours later the Engine was sent on a box assignment in 67s local for a building fire. The assignment was recalled with nothing found by 67 command. Just over an hour later the Pipeline was transferred to Station 82 in chester city while they were operating a 2 alarm fire on the east end of the city. The Pipeline staffed with 6 was at 82 for just over and hour and a half along with Tower 14 and handled no calls. Later in the evening the Ambulance ran back to back medical emergencies in the borough. One resulted in a transport and the second being no services.
Night Crew takes in 4 - The ambulance night crew took in 4 calls with 12-7 which all started at 0210hrs. 3 calls were medicals which resulted in transports to local hospitals. As the morning was about to start for the day crew a storm swept through the county causing numerous calls for multiple companies. The box assignment for 67s local went out for the Raymore & Flannigan. As the Engine which hit the street within seconds was recalled by 67 command. Just as the Engine backed into the station 12-7 was dispatched on the box assignment to 100 morton ave in 07s local. 12-7 arrived and stagged until the assignment was held to 7 and 8 for the investigation.
1st due box to start the month - The month of June has started off with a early morning medical with a transport to a local hospital. Later in the afternoon the box assignment ( 12, E7, L48, PL62, RIT 8 and the Medics ) was sent to 1002 Toll for the building fire. Engine 12 arrived to find a elderly female being removed by 23-64 aka 48-9C. Police were reporting a possible heater malfunction with a odor in the building. After investigating it was found to be a heater back fire. Ventilation was done and the home owner contacted the heater company to come back out.

12 HOUSE has busiest month so far for 09 - In the Month of May the guys and girls from the Eddystone Fire company kept themselves very busy running 67 total emergencies for the month. Fire 28 (18 day & 10 night), EMS 35 and QRS 4. On the fire side we averaged 9.5 members per call. The break down for fire calls in listed below. Keep up the good work!!

Haz-Mat Ops refresher - This evening 9 members headed over to Station 63 the Green Ridge Fire Company to take part in there annual Haz-Mat Operations refresher. We would like to thank Green Ridge and Assistant Chief Dawson for there hospitality and the invite.
Being Memorial Day weekend the 12 HOUSE stayed busy with calls and parades around the County. A special thanks goes out to Marcus Hook - Trainer for the invite to there annual parade which was on Saturday, Special thanks to the Eddystone Rec board for the wonderful job done with the Parade and Fire works on Sunday, Special thanks to Upland Fire and VFW Post 777 in Crum Lynne for there invites to there parades as well. A good time was had by all and we cant wait to do it again next year.
One more thanks to the following stations for assisting with the Fireworks in the BORO - 7, 8, 48, 62, 68, Taylor EMS and Ridley Twp. EMS.

Engine Co. goes to 57s local - Today the Engine Co. was sent to 900 Main St. in upland for the building fire. As the Engine and Pipeline staffed with 12 were enroute, 45 and 57 made a quick knock on the fire. 12 was placed in stagging along with the others and shortly after released by 57 command. A few hours later the Ambulance handled 2 medical calls in town which both resulted in transports.
12 HOUSE runs all day - Today was a unusual day here at the 12 house. Being a smaller company, we are used to maybe one or two calls in a day which are usually EMS runs but today would be different. The day started at 1043hrs when the Pipeline was transferred over to station 82 while units were operating rite down the street on a 2 alarm fire. The pipeline staffed with 6 under command of Chief Rowles was at 82 for about 6min when they were sent to the accident at 9th and Penn St. Just as the Pipeline was about to arrive they were recalled, EMS was transporting and there was no need for the engine. About another 6min later covers from 81 and 82 were pulled into the scene as the 3rd alarm assignment on the fire at 1300 Crosby St. The Pipeline was stagged and man power was used on scene with numerous tasks to be handled. While this was going on Engine 12 staffed with 4 was transferred over to Sta. 82 to cover the city while units were operating at the fire. A short time after the engine was sent to 800 E. 25th St for the Brush Fire. The Engine arrived with 67 units already on scene since the call came in originally as Ridley Twp. Crews placed a line in service for a trash/brush fire that was in the woods. The Engine was clear in just under 30min. After just over three and a half hours the Pipeline was released from the 3 alarm fire, as that was being done the Engine was sent to St. James Apts on E 24th for the AFA. That was found to be a faulty detector and the Engine returned to 82 for less then an hour before being returned as 82 went back in service. Special Thanks to Pipeline 62 from Sta. 12 and Engine 48 for covering our local while we were tied up. About 2 hours after everything quieted in the city the Ambulance handled two medical calls at the Wal-Mart Store and the QRS handled one. Total for the day: Fire 6 ~ Amb. 2 ~ QRS 1 for a total of 9 emergencies.......... AND PEOPLE SAY WE JUST SIT AROUND...... HA HA.

Condolences to Chester Fire Dept. - Today the Pipeline staffed with 4, along with Rescue 39 and Engine 68 Covered the West End of the City. The crews spent the day playing baggo or basketball without spinning a wheel except to get lunch.
Pipeline goes to 68 - At 2227hrs the tones dropped for Pipeline 12 to relocate to Sta. 68 along with Engine 57 and Tele-Squrt 50. 68 and other county units were operating at a large refinery fire at the Sunoco Plant in Marcus hook. The Pipeline staffed with 5 under command of Lt. A. Walsh covered all night till they were awakened for a building fire at the Foamex plant in Lower Chi. After invesigating it was determined that it was a generator running outside of the building and the assignment was recalled. The Pipline was released a little after 0800hrs due to crews having to get to there jobs. Crews from 68 were still on scene of the fire.

Engine Co. 3 ~ EMS 2 - While crews were at the cover assignment they were sent to White Horse Village in Edgmont Twp. After running the 5 mile drive we were recalled by 64 command. Task Force 54 then headed back to the station to do a late night/early morning wawa run. After getting some food in our stomachs the crews finally hit the pillows or floors. The Ambulance ran one medical in town at 0233hrs which resulted in a no services. A few hours after the Pipeline got back from Lenni the tones dropped for the Smoke Detector Activation in the Lester section of Tinicum Twp. The Pipeline was on the street within minutes but was recalled just as we hit the border of Tinicum. Just as crews were about to order lunch the tones dropped for the Accident with injuries on Rt. 291. The Pipeline and Ambulance made the response and arrived with a multi-vehicle crash. There was no entrapment and two BLS patients on the scene. The Ambulance along with Ambulance 48 transported 1 subject each to a local hospital while the Pipeline assisted by Tac 79 cleared hazards and assisted with patient packaging.

Condolences to the Lenni Fire Company - We here at the 12 HOUSE send outs our thoughts and prayers to the Lenni Heights Fire Company and there extended family. The members lost a great man over the weekend. Francis Lawler was a 12 year member of there company and he will be greatly missed. Today a small crew attended the funeral services and assisted 54 with anything they needed through out the day.
Later in the evening the Pipeline was requested along with Rescue 39 to cover there station from 2000hrs till 0600hrs while members dealed with there greaving period. The Pipeline staff with 4 ran one call just after midnight. Thank you to 54 for the invite and there hospitality. If you need anything again, dont hesitate to call.

Vehicle into the Building - At 0811hrs the tones were dropped for the accident with injuries in front of PECO on Rt. 291. 12-7 arrived on scene with a Dump Truck into a small building with live electrical equipment inside it. The dump truck driver was being attended to by Medic 102A. Due to the Truck being into the building with electrical equipment and a full load of Coal ash in the truck Engine and Rescue 48 was added for manpower and ARFF 79 was added for the foam incase something went south. 12-7 and Medic 102A transported the driver to a local hospital while crews stood-by while PECO succured the power to the building. Ambulance 48 was called into the scene to stand-by as well while 12-7 was on the transport. Crews were clear of the scene in just over an hour and a half.

Another 2 and 2 day for the 12th - The day started early this time on the EMS side of things with the ambulance taking a medical call on Toll St. at 0308hrs which resulted in a transport to a local hospital. Things remained quiet till just after noon when the tones dropped for the AFA at the Coccoa Plant on Rt. 291, Engine 12 and Ladder 48 arrived to find the alarm tripped by workers with a power washer. Shortly after clearing that call the tones dropped for 11th and Ashland for the reported gas leak outside. The Engine under command of Chief Rowles Jr. and Ambulance made the response. After investigating it was narrowed down and PECO was called to the scene to handled the situation. The Company was cleared in about 40min.
Ground Ladders and Local Familiarity - Tonight crews under direction of Lt. Andy Walsh headed out in the Engine and Pipeline to go over ground ladders ( operations and placement ) as well as some local familiarity with commercial buildings within the Borough. Crews got in about 1 hour of training before having to head back to the station due to down pours of rain coming through the area.
Engine Co. 2 ~ EMS 2 - The day started early with the Engine along with Ladder 48 being dispatched to 1200 E. 9th St. for the AFA, Chief 12 held the assignment in station since the Police were reporting it tripped by contractors which was confirmed by the Chief. Later in the afternoon at 1554hrs the ambulance took in a call on E. 12th St. which resulted in a transport to a local hospital. About 30min after that call Assistant Chief 12 ( Lynch ) came apon a small brush fire along Rt. 291 across from Re-Steel. The Engine made the response and after the fire was knocked with a can and shovel it was determined to be a R/C car which kids had set on fire. The company was clear in 15min. Later in the evening the ambulance took in a medical call on Chester Pike which that transport ended the day for the 12 HOUSE.
Slower month for the 12th - The month of April 2009 was busier for EMS and a slight decline for Fire. The 12 HOUSE ran 56 emergency calls ( 17 fire, 38 ems, 2 QRS, 1 Marine ). The breakdown is listed below. The Average per fire call was 9.6 members a slight decline since the warmer weather is striking.

12 runs a Accident and Medical - In the afternoon hours just after 1400hrs the Ambulance handled a medical call on Eddystone Ave, shortly after clearing up that they were directed to Chester Pike( Rt. 13 ) and Leiper for the accident with injuries. As the Ambulance arrived on scene the Engine was dispatched for the fluids on the roadway. Engine 12 staffed with 6 made the response and handled the hazards while 12-7 transported one pt to a local hospital.
MVA ~ Marine Assist ~ Medical ~ Building Fire - Today started off early at 0742hrs when the tones dropped for the accident with injuries at Rt. 291 and Saville Ave. Pipeline 12 and the Ambulance along with the medics made the response and found a two vehicle accident, negative entrapment and 2 injuries. At that time a 2nd Ambulance( 48-7 ) and Medic ( 102-B ) was added to the assignment. The Pipeline crew handled the hazards while EMS each transported one to local hospitals. Units were clear in just under an hour. Shortly after going off radio a request was called into the station for our small boat to assist Boeing with a water line break that feeds there fire suppression system. Marine 12B was placed in service and after hours of hard work the Maint. Dept of Boeing was able to contain the leak. The remainder of the day time hours were quiet. At 2128hrs the Ambulance handled a medical on Lawrence Ave, a short time after the Engine was sent to a Building Assignment in 67s local at the Kinder Park Apts. The Engine was recalled as it was arriving on scene , the assignment was held to 67.
Ambulance 2 ~ QRS 1 ~ Engine 1 - The day started just before the sun came up with the Ambulance taking a Cardiac Arrest call on Ashland Ave along with Taylor Medics. Crews worked on scene for quite some time but dispite there best efforts were unable to bring the subject back. A short time after the Engine was dispatched to assist the Medical Examiner with lifting. A crew of 4 made the response and assisted on scene with lifting and were clear in about 45min. Later in the early evening hours the Ambulance was sent to the 700 Block of Saville for a Medical while the QRS was sent with Ambulance 48 to the 1200 block of E. 12th for a Medical. The call for Ambulance 12 resulted in a transport, the QRS call was a refusal of services. Thanks to those who staffed the Equipment today.
Ambulance takes in call #100 - Early this morning at 0430hrs the Ambulance handled its 100th Emergency for the year of 2009 which was a 302 Pt at the intersections of 9th & Eddystone Ave which resulted in a trip to Crozer Crisis. Keep up the good work everyone!!
Another Dryer in the 67 local - Today at 1155hrs the tones dropped for a box assignment in the Woodlyn section of Ridley Twp. Engine 12 staffed with 6 made the response and arrived as Squrt 67 was going in service with a 1-3/4" line. Crews from 67 made a quick knock and held the assignment to 67 and 49. The Engine and Pipeline staffed with 10 returned.
Pop Eyes AFA - About an hour after getting back from the Woodlyn call the tones were dropped for Engine 12 and Ladder 48 for the AFA at the Popeyes Chicken. Crews found no smoke or fire but poor conditions in the duct work were the alarm orignated. The Health Dept. for the Borough was notified as well as Eddystone Car 1. Health Department arrived and shut down the business due to health reasons, EDC1 was unable to make the response and would follow up at a later date. Pic By Safety Officer Ali Erbayri Jr.
Training classes continue - Tonight the 12 HOUSE along with members from Tinicum, Prospect Park and Vaulclain continued with training classes which were being taught by Dave Karlunas. Tonights topic was Strip Malls / Stores Fire Strategy and Tactics. About 30 to 40 people spent 3 hours on different strategies and Tactics when it comes to fighting a Strip Mall / Store Fire. Thank you to everyone who came out and we will see you at the next class.
Quick Storm brings 2 Island runs - Today a quick moving storm came through the county which sent the Pipeline to Tinicum for the AFA at the Econo Lodge and then we handled a wires call at All-State Career School while they were tied up on the AFA.
Congrats to the Tinicum Twp. Fire Company, they will be having there first banquet since merging the Essington and Lester Fire Companys into the Tinicum Twp. Fire Co. Station 48, we here at the 12 HOUSE wish you the best of luck for the years to come.

Ambulance 2 ~ QRS 1 - Today was quiet till just after lunch when the Ambulance was sent to Simpson St for a medical call, 2 minutes after that went out the QRS took a call along with Ambulance 48 and Medic 102A at the Sho Rite food market. Both calls resulted in transports and Eddystone EMS was available within 45min. A few ours later the Ambulance headed back over to the Pike at the Wal-Mart store for a medical which resulted in a transport.
Things stay steady for the 12th - The month of March was a steady month but slower then February. The company had 48 calls for the month ( 19 FIRE, 27 Amb and 2 QRS ). The break down for the month is below, we averaged 10.1 members per call with 6 calls day and 13 of them at night for the fire side.

2 Cover Assignments in 12 hours - At midnight the Engine started its pre-assigned cover assignment at Station 62 along with Engine and Ambulance 24. The members from 62 were having there annual banquet on this evening so while they were celebrating another good year the Engine staffed with 5 didnt spin a wheel till 0558hrs when a medical call came in on I95. The Engine made the repsonse but was recalled just before arriving on scene. The crew remained on the cover till 0800hrs when 62 went back in service. Thank you to Sta. 62 for the invite and hospitality we look forward to working well together in 2009. A few hours after getting back home the tones went out for the Pipeline to transfer to Station 82 at 1048hrs. The City was operating a 2 alarm fire on the East end of the city. The Pipeline staff with 5 and Chief 12 covered for 3 hours without turning a wheel.

Engine Company to 07s local for Apt Fire - Today the tones went out at 1000hrs for the 12 HOUSE to assist Ridley Park on the box assignment at 17 W. Chester Pike. Units from 7, 8 and 48 were on scene with smoke conditions inside a 2nd floor apartment. Engine 8 had established a water supply from the plug and stretched a leader line into the court yard where Ladder 48 was putting the main up to the roof. engine and Pipeline 12 staffed with 11 arrived as crews started to open up when they found smoldering ceiling rafters, a 1-3/4" line was stretched to knock down the fire. Crews from the 12 HOUSE assisted with ventilation, salvage and over haul. Crews from the 12th District operated for just over an hour. PICS BY T.FULLER
2 Medicals in the Boro - This evening the Ambulance and QRS handled seperate calls at the same time. At 2110hrs the tones went out for a medical at CDs Tavern and a few minutes later the QRS handled a medical on E. 9th St along with Ambulance 48. Both calls resulted in transports.
Can and Fan in 67s local - at 1252hrs the Engine Company was dispatched to 1603 Grant Ave in the Woodlyn section of Ridley Twp. Engine 12 staff with 7 made the response and was 3rd due on scene behind the Squrt from 67 and Tower from 49. 67 Command reported a dryer fire in the basement that appeared to be out. The assignment was held to units on scene. Engine 12 assisted with 2 guys in packs with cans to the basement to knock down the smoldering fire while 49 handled ventilation. District Chiefs Meeting - Tonight the 12th District Chiefs had a meeting as they do each month and the topic for the night was firefighter rehab and mass casualty incidents. 34-8 was brought down for the chiefs to over view and to understand what the unit is for. The crew from 34 put on a good show and made a good impression on all the chiefs. The District has decided to go with 34-8 as its Rehab and Mass Casualty unit when the time arrises. Thanks again to Station 34 for brining the unit down.

Very early Pot of Meat - This morning at 0429hrs the building assignment was sent to 1409 E. 13th St. Engine 12 staffed with 6 arrived shortly after Chief 12. Crews Arrived to find a smoke condition in the 3rd floor apt which was a result of a pot of meat with no fire. Assignment was held to Engine 12 for ventilation.
Assist EMS on Cardiac Arrest - Early this morning the company was called to assist 12-7 and the Medics with the cardiac arrest. 12-8 staffed with 3 made the response and assisted on the scene. Units were clear in just over 20min and EMS transported one to a local hospital.
Congrats Company 08 - This evening The Prospect Park Fire Company held there annual banquet to celebrate another successful year. While they were OOS for the evening, Engine 12 covered two AFAs in there place (1) in Ridley Park Borough and (1) in Tinicum Twp. Congrats to Station 08 on another great year.

Engine Co. 2 ~ EMS 2 - The first of the month started early for the 12 HOUSE. The tones dropped at 0126hrs for the Engine to assist Eddystone PD at 1112 Saville. The Engine marked up and were advised the Police needed a ladder to gain entry into a residence. An elderly resident from the borough had locked herself out and was stuck outside in the cold. The Engine under command of Captain Thornton arrived, threw a ground ladder to the 2nd floor and gained entry. The woman was back in her house warm and the company was clear in 19min. Later in the morning at 1000hrs the Pipeline was transferred to Station 57 along with Engine 49 while they were operating a working fire in the Brookhaven section of the county. The Pipeline staffed with 6 under command of Captain Thornton covered 57 for just over 2-1/2hrs without turning a wheel. Later in the day the Ambulance ran 2 medical calls within the borough which resulted in transports to local hospitals.
Monthly report - The month of February overall was steady for the 12 HOUSE. The fire side was busy again but on the ems side it was slightly slower then last month. The Company responded to 50 ( 26 fire, 23 ems and 1 QRS ) emergencies this month. The break down for the month is below and we averaged 11.1 members per call, 12 Day and 13 Night alarms.

Engine Company run to 62s local - As crews were clearing up from training the tones dropped for a building assignment in 62s local. The Engine and Pipeline staffed with 11 under command of Chief Rowles arrived on scene of a two stry twin with nothing evident. the Engine took the front of the building while the Pipeline took the hydrant assignment. Crews from the Engine and Pipeline 62 found a small fire in the rear second floor bedroom and placed 3 cans in service to knock down the small fire. The walls were checked with the TIC by Engine 70 with no extension. The PPV was placed in service and crews were clear in about 45min. Asst. Chief 62-9C had the command. Pics by R. Lynch
Early Start - 3 more shoe runs for the 12 HOUSE, the calls started early with an Investigation in the 1000 blk of Industrial Hwy. Chief 12 marked up for the call and was advised that it was the steam from the Liberty Plant, the steam strikes again. Later in the morning Engine 12 and Ladder 48 was sent to the Wal-Mart Store for the AFA. Engine 12 arrived and found it to be a tripped alarm caused by workers, at that time the assignment was recalled. About a half hour later the Engine was hit out to assist 62 and 70 with the vehicle fire on I-95 north, 62 and 70 were short an engine each due to another incident in the county. Engine 12 staffed with 4 searched the highway along with Chief 12 and 62 with nothing found, the assignment was then recalled. Later in the evening the Ambulance handled a medical call within the borough which resulted in a transport.
Island run ~ Transfer ~ AFA - Today the Engine Company ran 3 runs which started off at 1239hrs with a run to " The Island " at 333 Jansen Ave. The Pipeline staffed with 5 was recalled while enroute. Later in the evening the Pipeline was transferred over to Station 82 while the city was tied up with a 2 alarm building fire. Staffed with 5 under command of Lt. Walsh recieved one call after being in 82 for about 5min. Ladder and Engine 65, Pipeline 12 and Engine 57 were sent to the AFA at the Rite Aid on Edgemont Ave. Crews found a light haze in the building which was caused by a floor buffer. Engine Co. runs 2 - This past week has been kinda slow and quiet around the 12 HOUSE. Today the Engine Co. ran a 1st due building assignment as well as a Accident with injuries. At 1754hrs the tones dropped for the building assignment at 709 Eddystone Ave. Engine 12 staffed with 7 under command of Captain Thornton hit the street within minutes. As the rest of the building assignment was hitting the street crews found the fire to be out which was in the oven with a light smoke condition inside the building. The assignment was held to Co. 12 per Chief 12. After ventilation was complete the company was available in 20min. A Few hours later the company was hit out for the accident with injuries in front of the PECO plant on Rt. 291, Pipeline and Ambulance 12 made the repsonse and arrived with a one vehicle accident and negative entrapment. The Pipeline crew securred the hazards and assisted EMS with packaging the pts. A 2nd ALS and BLS ( 48-7 and Medic 102B ) were called into the scene for a second Pt. Box Assignment 1st due - The Commercial Building box ( 12, Ladder 48, Ladder 07, Squirt 67, RIT 08, Amb. 62 and Medic 102A ) were dispatched to the McDonalds on Chester Pike for the Building. Chief and Deputy 12 marked up quickly as Fireboard was receiving the alarm from the alarm company. Deputy 12 arrived on scene with a heavy smoke condition inside and what appeared to be an extinguished fire. After crews investigated the fire was put out by an employee with an ABC extinguisher. The assignment was held to 12, 67 and Ladder 07. Ladder 07 checked the roof area for extension while the PPV was placed in service. Crews were clear in an hour.
EMS 1 - Engine Co. 1 - Today being friday the 13th was just another day at the 12 HOUSE, the Ambulance handled a medical call early at 0828hrs transporting one to a local hospital. The remainder of the day and most of the night was quiet until the Pipeline was transferred to Station 63 the Green Ridge Fire Co. They were operating at a 2 alarm fire in the Lower Chichester section of the county. The Pipeline staffed with 5 under command of Asst. Chief Lynch covered 63s first due for just over an hour until being released.
12 House handles 2 Emergencies - Today started out quiet with the Ambulance handling one medical within the Borough which resulted in a transport. As the winds kept up all day the tones went out at 1333hrs for wires in the unit block of E. 8th St. Pipeline 12 staffed with 5 under command of Deputy Chief Burke Jr. Arrived with a loose high power line which PECO was notified about. Shortly after that the box assignment for 1400 W. MacDade Blvd in 67s local was being hit out. The Pipeline cleared the wires turning the scene over to the highway dept. and made the repsonse along with Engine 12 from station. Engine Co. 12 stagged at there pre-planned assignment until recalled by 67 command.
Engine Co. runs 2 - Today was quiet all day as members enjoyed the last day of the weekend until the afternoon hit. The first call went out at 1401hrs for the smoke detector activation at 1120 Eddystone Ave. ( Co. 12 and Ladder 48 ). Engine 12 staffed with 8 under command of Asst. Chief Lynch arrived on scene with Chief 12 Rowles with nothing evident. After investigating it was determined to be a CO detector. Crews metered the apartment as well as the building with no readings. Assignment was held to the Engine, Ambulance 12 and Ladder 48 were released. Tenent was advised to replace the battery or to get a new detector. The Engine was clear in just under 30min. A few hours later the tones went out for the Gas Leak outside. the Engine, Pipeline and Ambulance Staffed with 13 arrived under command of Chief 12 Rowles in POV. There was a strong odor in the area of 1021 Toll St. Peco Gas was notified and area was metered until they arrived. Crews were on scene for just under 30min with no incidents occuring.
Pipeline returns to 82 - Today in the early morning hours Pipeline 12 was relocated to Station 82 the City of Chester while they were operating on a 2 alarm fire on the West End of the city. Staffed with 6 under command of Asst. Chief Burke Jr. the Pipeline handled one AFA along with Ladder 65 which resulted in a faulty detector. Crews were on the assignment for about 2 hours until being released.
The month of January was a busy one, at least for the 12 HOUSE who doesnt see a large ammount of calls. We responded to 25 fire related calls and 40 medical responses totaling 65 calls total. The ambulance handled 39 calls while the QRS handled only 1 emergency. The fire side is broken down below for the month, we averaged 11 members per call.

Gear Gets a Different look - Today the process was started with adding the Gear Patch to all the turn out coats. Each coat will have the Patch on the left sleeve which is being done by ARD uniforms on the 200 block of Saville Ave in Eddystone. A speacial thanks to them for helping get this done, all the coats should be done in about a week and a half.


Pipeline heads to 82 - Thats rite this is not a typo, Pipeline 12 was transfered again to Station 82 while they were operating at 2 alarm fire on the East End of the City. The Pipeline was staffed with 6 under command of Lt. Walsh. They recieved no calls while there and were back in the Borough in just over an hour and a half.
Happy Birthday 12-11 ~ EMS takes 2 - During the daytime hours the Ambulance handled 2 medical calls within the Borough which both resulted in transports. Later in the evening members from the 12 HOUSE gathered at the Folsom Fire Company Hall to surprise our Ambulance Captain Matthew Rowles for his 30th Birthday Party. Being that he is a Detective for Upper Darby Twp. he said he knew about the whole thing but seemed pretty surprised to see everyone come out for his 30th. Everyone there had a good time and enjoyed them selves. Speacial Thanks to Sta. 48 who was covering with an Engine from there station to cover our local.

Building assignment 1st due - In the early hours of the morning the tones went out for the building assignment ( 12, 48, E7, S67, RIT 08 and Medic 102A ) at 1011 Toll St. Assistant Chief Lynch arrived with nothing evident from the front along with Engine 12 staffed by 5. Chief 12 arrived on side C via Simpson and reported a heater malfunction with a smoke condition inside. The assignment was held to 12 for ventilation, crews remained on scene for 30min with ventilation and the residents were aloud back in after the air was monitored and cleared. There were no injuries reported.
Streak continues with assist the Police - The tones went out once again to assist the Police along the 1500 block of Chester Pike. As Chief 12 marked up he was advised the Police needed assistance with getting evidence from an incident out of the creek. Safety Officer Ali Erbayri was leaving Wal-Mart when the call came in and advise command that a boat will be needed to get the materials out of the water. Crews staffed the Engine, Ambulance and QRS to make the response and to set up the equipment needed to recover the materials. Medic 102A was called to the scene to stand-by since crew members would be working in the boat on half froozen waters while temps were in the teens. Marine 12C was placed in service with two crew members on board. They were in the water about 20min before all the materials were recovered. Crews were back in the warm in under 2 hours.


Good Luck and Be Safe! - Today one of two members heading to the Army National Guard and departed for Boot Camp. Fire Fighter Paul Gliem left today heading to Fort Benning in GA. He will be gone for 3 months at Boot Camp. Engineer Wayne Lynch departs in February to the same location. We will miss you guys and be safe!!

Pipeline transferred again ~ EMS 2 - In the early part of the day the ambulance handled 2 medical calls one in the Borough and one in Ridley Park Borough both resulted in transports to local hospitals. At 1133hrs the tones dropped for the Pipeline to transfer to Station 82 the City of Chester. Chester was operating at a 2 alarm fire on the East end of the City. The Pipeline staffed with 5 under command of Chief Rowles covered along with Tower 61 and 57 from there station. Crews remained at 82 for a few hours until being for an investigation within the Borough. The Engine and Pipeline were sent to the rear of Wal-Mart for the Smoke Investigation. Engine 12 under command of Asst. Chief Burke Jr. arrived with the smoke being the infamous steam from the Liberty Electric Plant on Rt. 291. The assignment was recalled and the Engine returned to the 12 HOUSE and Pipeline back to 82.
Haz-Mat in first due - At 1501 hrs the tones dropped for the building investigation along the 1400 block of E. 11th st. Engine 12 staffed with 6 arrived with Chief 12 Rowles with a vehicle into the building which caused a oil storage tank to leak. Chief 12 assumed "11th Street" command and had the Engine drop a line to the hydrant and the Pipline ( staffed with 5 under command of Capt. Thornton ) crew to assist the Engine. The Haz-Mat team ( HMHTTC ) was requested by command to make the response as well as Eddystone Car 1 ( Bob Gliem ). The crew from Engine 12 forced entry into the building and securred utilites and started ventilation while the Pipeline started evacuation of the neighboring houses. Delcora was also notified since the oil was leaking into the sewer system. Crews remained on scene for just over an hour and a half till the Haz-Mat team arrived which the scene was turned over to them and command was terminated.

Box assignment 1st due ~ EMS handles 3 - Today the Ambulance handled 3 more medical emergencies in the Borough 2 of which resulted in transports to local hospitals. At 2259hrs the Box Assignment ( 12, 48, L7, S67, RIT 08, Amb. 62 and M102-A ) for Bengal Paper on Rt. 291 was hit out. EPD was on scene with water coming from the building and a odor from the exterior. Full Company 12 was on the street within minutes staffed with 16. Chief 12 (Rowles) was on scene with the same report at PD and had Engine 12 force entry into the building while L48 took the front of the building. RIT 08 was stagged at the front of the building while E48 took the hydrant assignment. Pipeline 12 along with S67 took the West end of the building were they reported water coming from the building as well. After investigating it was found to be two broken water pipes and no odor within the building. The assignment was held to 12 and 48 until the emergency contact was on scene. Crews were on scene exactly 1 hour.
Pipeline heads to 82 again, PPV 12 goes in service and EMS takes 2 - While the Ambulance crew was out on the medical the tones went out for the Pipeline to transfer to Station 82 for the 2nd time this week. The city units were on another 2 alarm fire on the west end of the city. The Pipeline and 12-8 staffed with 8 total covered along with Ladder and Engine 65 at 82 while Engine 57 covered from there station. Crews were on scene for just over an hour with no runs recieved. Later in the morning at 0826hrs PPV 12 was sent to Sun Valley High in Aston Twp. to assist Company 63 with ventilation on a gas leak. 63 was on scene with a large gas leak at the Sun Valley High School, 63-9B ( Dawson ) requested PPV 12 to help speed up the ventilation process. 12-8 along with Marine 12A ( AKA PPV 12 ) made the response and was in service for just under an hour. During the afternoon hours the Ambulance handled 2 medical calls within the Borough that resulted in transports to local hospitals.
EMS 3 ~ FIRE 1 - Today started a little after noon for EMS running two medical calls within the Borough back to back. One resulting in a transport and the other being a refusal. Later in the afternoon the Pipeline was sent on the Box Assignment on the Island of Tinicum. The Pipeline staffed with 6 under command of Chief Rowles was recalled by 48 command it was steam coming from the roof. Later in the evening just before midnight the Ambulance handled a medical which resulted in a transport to a local hospital.
4 Runs in 2 hours???? - Today the silent streak for fire was broken with the 12 HOUSE running 4 calls in 4 hours. It started at 1236hrs when the Pipeline was transferred to Station 82 the City of Chester while they operated a 2 alarm fire on the West end of the city. As the Pipeline staffed with 5 under command of Chief Rowles hit the street a AFA was transmitted for 12and 65 at the Walnut Park Apts on E. 23rd St. The Pipeline along with Ladder 65 found it to be a accidental trip and went available and enroute to Sta. 82. About 15min later 12, 65 and 57 were dispatched to the AFA at the Columbus School on W. 10th St. Crews arrived to find a tripped alarm by contractors. As the units were getting back to 82 they were released due to E82 being available. The station had a staffing of 10 for the Engine and Ambulance to cover the 1st due. About a hour later the Box Assignment for 1400 W. MacDade Blvd. went out ( 67, T49, E12, E18 ) Engine 12 staffed with 7 under command of Asst. Chief Lynch arrived and took the hydrant assignment. the assignment was held to 67, 12 and 49 with the fire being out and a minor smoke condition. The Pipeline was staffed in station with 5. Later in the evening crews had training with newer members on equipment review of the apparatus.
Very slow start - The new year has been a slow start for the fire side of the company running 0 calls until the early hours of the morning when the tones dropped for the assist to EMS with a trauma fall at the PECO plant on Industrial Hwy. The Engine was cancelled just before the response was made. Hours later just as everyone was having dinner the tones dropped for the CO Alarm at 1181 E. 9th St. The Engine was on scene under the command of Asst. Chief Burke Jr. with a alarm sounding but no one home and the building was securred. There was no evidence of any problem with the dog running around the house and no smoke or fire the company returned while Police attempted to contact the home owner. EMS on the other hand this year has been very steady. On todays date the Ambulance ran 4 medical calls within the Borough which all resulted in transports to local hospitals. These 4 calls brought the year total to 9 so far for the year.

Engine Co. 2 - Ambulance 2 - Today started early with the ambulance having a medical call at 0349hrs which resulted in a transport to a local hospital. Not too long after getting back the Company was dispatched to the 1700 block of Bullens Ln for the Building. The Engine and Pipeline staffed with 9 made the response. The assignment was held to S67, Engine 70 and 12 for the investigation. Later in the morning the Ambulance handled another medical and shortly after the Pipeline went to " The Island" for the AFA and the Quality Inn.
With these calls possibly being the last for 2008, from the 12 HOUSE have a safe and happy new year.
Ambulance runs 3 and more training - Today the Ambulance ran 3 medical calls all resulting in transports to local hospitals. In the evening a group from the 12 HOUSE headed to Sta. 48 for Engine Company Tactics. The class was a good learning expierence for all and thank you to Lt. T. Byrnes for the invite.
Marine unit run - On a cold night the tones dropped for the vessel in distress in the area of the Commidore Barry Bridge. Dispatch recieved a few calls reporting someone shooting flares off from the river. Marine 12 made the response while Chester City units checked the area from the Flower St. ramp. The area was checked for about 30min with nothing found. Police reported it to be Fireworks from the area of the Eddystone Wal-Mart. Also during the day the Ambulance ran 3 medical calls , 2 transports and 1 assist.
Slow times call for more training - Tonight about 10 members headed out to the Green Ridge Fire Co. for a Fire Fighter Safety Awareness Class. The group learned some new stuff and was reminded of some things that should be done everyday and on every call but over all had a good time. Thank you to Assistant Chief Dawson of Green Ridge for the invite. This class was 2 of 4 classes in which the 12 HOUSE will be taking in the month of December. Today the Ambulance also ran 3 medical calls all resulting in a transport to local hospitals.
** All members are reminded the next two mondays are classes at Station 48 and we will be leaving at 1830hrs if you are going on the truck or you may meet us there in your P.O.V.
SANTA HAS ARRIVED IN THE BOROUGH - Today Santa stopped by and grabbed a ride around town with his friends from the 12 HOUSE. Santa drove around getting to see all the kids of the borough before his big night on December 25th. Thanks again santa for stopping by and remember SANTA a new firehouse is on our list we have been good this year once again.


Box assignment in 1st due - Just after 0400hrs the building assignment ( 12, L48, Squirt and Amb. 67, E7, RIT 08 and Medics ) were sent to 207 Concord for the building. Engine 12 staffed with 5 went enroute as the police reported fire from the floor vent. The crew from the Engine and Squirt 67 (hydrant assignment) arrived with a medium smoke condition on all three floors and no fire visable. Concord command (Chief Rowles) had Engine 7 take the rear, RIT 08 stage at the front of the building and Ladder 48 to the rear of Engine 12. Crews found the source to be parts from the filter system in the floor vent that were on fire with negative extension. 48 placed the PPV in service and crews were released shortly after. Medics had checked out two children with no transport and the Red Cross was notified for 2 adults and 2 children.
On scene: Engine and Pipeline 12, Ladder 48, Squirt and Amb. 67, Engine 7, RIT 08, Ridley 7 and Medic 102-B.

Slow times in December - The month of december has started out very slow at least on the fire side running 7 misc calls most being recalled assignments. EMS has stayed steady as usual with 13 runs so far for the month. Crews have been spending there free time decorating the station and doing training.

Today started early for the members on this holiday with a Box assignment for 750 Saville Ave. Engine Co. 12 hit the street within minutes under command of Chief 12 ( Rowles ). S67 had the hydrant assignment while the Engine and Pipeline crews were investigating a smoke condition in the basement. Crews found the source with the TIC which was a electrical problem in the main fuse panel. The assignment was held to 12, 67 and 08 until the building was ventilated. Later in the afternoon the company handled a service call on E. 11th St.

Pipeline transferred again - This afternoon Pipeline 12 was relocated to Sta. 68 ( Marcus Hook - Trainer Fire Co. ) along with TS50 and L65. Sta. 68 was operating at 2 alarm fire in the Upper Chichester Section of the county. Crews covered for about 4 hours without turning a wheel.

Building run to 48 and Pipeline heads to 82 - Just as the rain started to hit the area a building response for 48 ( 48, 7, 8 and 12 ) went out for 200 Stevens Dr. The Pipeline hit the street with 5 within minutes, Ladder 48 was on scene with a smoke condition throughout the 1st floor of a commercial building. The Pipeline crew went to the roof via Ladder 48 and assisted them with checking the roof while the Engine took the hydrant assignment and the Ambulance stood-by. Crews checke the building for just over an hour before narrowing it down to a fan belt in the kitchen. After ventilation was complete crews were released. About 6hrs later just after midnight the Pipeline was transferred to Station 82 while they were operating a 2 alarm fire on the west end of the city. The Pipeline staffed with 5 covered the city along with Ladder 65 and Engine 57 without turning a wheel and being released about 3 hours later.
Engine Co. has 2 afternoon runs - After a long slow day the tones dropped for the accident with injuries in front of 901 Industrial Hwy. Pipeline 12 and the Ambulance arrived within minutes to find a 2 vehicle accident, negative entrapment with one minor injury. The assignment was held to 12 and the medics were recalled. The ambulance transported one to a local hospital and the Pipeline securred the hazards. About 30min later the tones dropped for a building assignment in 67s local. Engine 12 staffed with 6 arrived shortly behind the Squrt. Engine crew assisted with ventilation from a dryer fire was was out before arrival. 12 was on scene for about 30min till released by 67 command.
Early morning MVA on Rt. 291 - The tones went out just before 0800hrs for the accident with injuries in the 3000 block of Rt. 291. The Pipeline and Squad arrived under command of Asst. Chief Burke Jr. with a two vehicle accident and negative entrapment. The medics canceled the Squad due to a refusal and the Pipeline secured hazards and called for PennDot for a sand truck due to the large oil spill on the road way. Crews were in service for about 20min. 
Pipeline heads to 82 - Today the City of Chester went 2 alarms on the east end of the city which sent Pipeline 12 over to 82 for the cover assignment. The Pipeline staffed with 5 under command of Captain Thornton covered 82 along with Tower 14 and Engine 57 for a few hours without turning a wheel.
Busy Start to November - The month started off busy for the 12 House with numerous incidents occuring Saturday and Sunday. It all started with the EPEX drill at the Philadelphia International Airport. Engine 12, Ambulance 12 and Chief 12 headed down to par take in the drill which is a mock air place crash along the run way. The Engine crew along with Ladder 7 and Snozzle 8 assisted Philly Fire with patient triage and transport to EMS units. The Ambulance assisted with transporting patients to a local hospital. Crews were in service about 2 hours. A speacial Thanks goes out to Tower 61 ( at Sta. 48 ) , E66-3 and Ambulance 14 ( From Sta. 12 ) for covering our local as well as the 12th District. About 1 hour after going back into service the Building assignment( 7, 8, 48, 12, Amb. 2 and Medic 102A ) for 200 W. Chester Pike in 07s local went out. the Pipeline staffed with 6 arrived at the hydrant assignment and stood-by. 07 command shortly after recalled the assignment. In the early hours of the next day the Ambulance assisted 48 with an accident on I-95 which resulted in them transporting 2 patients to a local hospital. A few hous later the building assignment for 67s local went out for 1553 Park Lane rd. The assignment was held to 67 and Engine 12 was returned. The remainder of the day the Squad handled 2 more medical calls within the borough and the Engine went to a building fire in 67s local which was held to 67 only.


Engine runs 2 for the day - The day started with a building run into 67s local at the Kinder Park Apartments. Just as the engine was about to hit the street the assignment was held to 67 only per 67 command. A few hours later the tones went out for the vehicle fire at the Walmart Store on Chester Pike. Engine 12 arrived on scene with an engine compartment well involved, the crew placed a 1-1/2" attack line in service. When the Pipeline arrived on scene the booster line was placed in service from that while the crews used the Spreaders to get the tuff hood open on the vehicle. With the quick knock crews prevented the interior from catching on fire. Crews remained on scene for just over 30min with over haul.

" The Rock " assist " The Island " - This morning the building assignment for 48s local went out for 310 Warwick Ave. Pipeline 12 staffed with 5 hit the street within minutes. Chief 48 was on scene with smoke showing and reporting a dryer fire within the residence. Ladder 48 arrived on scene and made quick work of the fire stretching a 1-3/4" attack line. The Pipeline arrived on scene and assisted with man power before later being released. Crews were in service about 30min.
Close Call diverted - The tones went out at 1312hrs for the building fire at 11th and Ashland Ave. PD arrived on scene and reported a working fire in the basement. Engine 12 / 9A arrived on scene with smoke showing from the rear of a two story middle of the row. Crews stretched a 200' of 1-1/2" attack line. Crews found heavy fire around the window of the basement with very minor extension inside the basement. Ladder 48 took the front of the building while crews were working inside. Pipeline 12 took the hydrant assignment, Engine 7 the remainder of 48 who dumped the house and Squrt 67 stood-by with manpower. RIT 08 did there size up and stood-by. The fire was knocked quickly and the assignment was held to 12, 48 and 67 for over haul. Good job to all on scene for preventing what could have been a horrible fire.

Building fire 1st due - At 1525hrs the building assignment ( 12, S67, L7, L48 , RIT08 and Medic 102A ) were sent to 1015 Saville Ave ( VFW Post ) for the building fire. Engine 12 staffed with 7 arrived on scene and found a smoke condition on the 2nd floor. After investigating the crew found it to be unattended cooking and the assignment was held to Engine 12. The Engine remained on scene just under a half hour. Later in the evening Engine 12 & Ladder 48 had a AFA at the Wal-Mart Store which was a tripped alarm.

Fire Prevention at Eddystone School - Today a crew headed to the local school for fire prevention. Assistant Chief Burke Jr. did a display of equipment. talked about what we do and also went over what should be done if there is a fire, if you are on fire and also showed our new member Sparky the fire dog. After that was done students got to walk through the smoke filled trailor which was there courtesy of the Chester Fire Dept. A good time was had by all and remember to check those smoke detectors.

PPV 12 and QRS head to Springfield - Tonight a crew headed to Springfield Fire Company for there annual Open House for Fire Prevention. Crews enjoyed a good time having the countys PPV on display. Thank you to Station 44 for the invite and hope to see you again next year.

Engine handles another vehicle fire and PPV 12 heads to Folsom - Tonight a crew of 3 took QRS 12 and Marine 12A ( aka PPV 12 ) to Station 18 the Folsom Fire Co. for there annual open house for fire prevention. Crews enjoyed a good time while there and we thank Folsom for the invitation and cant wait till next year. While they were in Folsom the Engine handled a vehicle fire at 11th and Saville Ave. Engine 12 arrived to find an engine compartment that was for the most part already out. The booster line was placed in service and the Engine was clear in about 15min.

Early morning Vehicle Fire - At 0820hrs the tones went out for the Vehicle Fire in front of PECO #1 Industrial Hwy. Engine 12 with 4 arrived within minutes and found a fire in the engine comparment of a vehicle. The fire was knocked down by a passer-by that had a dry-chem extingusher on them. The engine placed the booster line in service and was cleared in about 20min. Later in the day the Squad handled two medical calls within the borough that resulted in transports.

Fire Prevention Kick off - Today started what will be a busy week for the 12 HOUSE with Fire Prvention events. Today we held our open house which was located to the rear of the Shop Rite on the 1500 block of Chester Pike. Captain Thornton put together a good show of modern and antique apparatus as well as a smoke trailor from Broomall Fire Company, Delco. CID/ Bomb Squad Unit, Delco. Sheriffs D.A.R.E. unit, Search and Rescue Dogs, Vehicle Rescue Demo and much more. There was a decent turn out considering that the PHILLES ( who won ) and the EAGLES ( who lost ) were on TV at 1pm. Boot Day does well - Today about a dozen volunteers from the 12 HOUSE headed to the entrance of the Eddystone Crossings Complex to hold a boot day. Members started at 1100hrs and kept strong till 1630hrs when they decided to call it quits. Crews headed back and counted and thanks to local and non local residents we made just under $1200.00. We here at the Eddystone Fire Company would like to thank every single person who made a donation no matter what it was. Just before boot day started the Squad handled a medical call out front of the Wal-Mart Store which ended up being a police matter with no services needed.


Engine runs 2 back to back - Today started early with the first call coming in at 0827 hrs. The building assignment ( 67, 49, 12 and 70 ) for the Sports Club on W. MacDade Blvd. S67 and Engine 12 arrived on scene with a light haze in the building. The assignment was held to 67 and 12 for the investigation. Engine 12 staffed with 4 checked the interior with the TIC and found nothing. Crews then threw the 24' Ladder up and checked the A/C units. It was found to be a A/C motor that was burned up with negative extension. Crews securred the power and were released by 67 command. About 5 min after pulling back into the station 12 and Ladder 48 were sent to 1580 Chester Pike ( AT&T Store ) for the AFA. Engine 12 arrived on scene with a contractor working on the system, the assignment was recalled by 12-9B Lynch and units were available. There is still plenty of time in the day as this story is being put up........


New Gear Arrives - Today 5 new sets of Quaker Fire Gear arrived at the station. The 5 members who are recieving this gear will get it as they come up the station. A Big Thank you to Quaker for the great gear as well as the officers and members who helped with input and research to make this purchase.

Engine 12 takes 1st at the County - Today a crew from 12 took the Engine to the Delaware County Firemans association parade which was being hosted by Folsom Fire Co. of Ridley Twp. Folsom was celebrating there 100 years of service as well as housing there new TAC 18. As crews hung around for the trophys to be given out they were very surprised to hear Eddystone for Engine 12-1 first place. We hear at the 12 HOUSE would like to thank Folsom for the invite and a great time. Congrats goes out to our sister company Station 48 for brining home 6 trophies, also to mention they will be hosting the Parade next year. We cant wait till next years parade.


Engine 12 responds to mulch fire- at 1345 hours the engine was dispatched for a small mulch fire in the Eddystone Crossings Shopping Center. Engine 12 and Ambulance 12 arrived to find EPD on location with a small mulch fire which was quickly handled with a booster line and units were made available.

PPV 12 goes in service again - The day started off early at 0234hrs with a medical call on E. 9th St. While the Squad was enroute the Engine was added to assist with forcing entry per the police. Units arrived on scene and were able to gain entry with no damage done, the Squad with Medic 102A transported one to a local hospital. A few hours later the Squad handled another medical on Eddystone Ave transporting one to a loca hospital. At 1140hrs the tones dropped for Marine 12A aka PPV 12 to assist Company 44 with ventilaltion at the Springfield Mall. Crews were on scene with some type of leak inside and mall and needed the PPV placed in service for ventilation. A crew of 4 placed Marine 12A in service for just over 2 hours and then were later released by 44 command.
