Summer Day Camp

Educational Support Services ("ESS") in Elk River has been involved with summer day-camp opportunities since 2004. This was our sixth annual summer day camp and we are pleased to share this past summer's events with you. This summer we offered half-day and full-day Quilt Camp sessions that met during June, July and August.

We have always been committed to helping children meet new people, enhance cooperation, acquire new skills, and develop an appreciation for the outdoors. We continue to foster these goals through the wide variety of activities offered by ESS.

Every summer option was filled with a variety of hands-on activities and instructional time to introduce and enhance learning. Although we were unable to offer outdoor activities this past summer, the students that attended Quilt Camp were able to complete their projects. These students met for a full week. Morning classes meet from 9:00a.m. - 12:00p.m. Afternoon sessions start at 1:00 p.m. and went until 4:00p.m. The full-day options met from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., we provided snacks, and students brought a bag lunch.

Clean up began 10 minutes before the students were dismissed and parents were prompt when picking their children.
