Welcome to Freewebs Helper! This page will explain to you the basics, rules, and abilities needed to create your very own freewebs website! Sure this has nothing to do with Ed, Edd n' Eddy, but who cares?! Let`s get started!

Getting started with a freewebs site is easy! All you have to do to start is press NEW ACCOUNTS on the home page and you will be brought to a page with lots of bars for you to fill in. First, you type in the username you want. (This username will be used to help you log on to your account and this will also be the ending of your site URL, such as, if your username is yankee, your URL will be www.freewebs.com/yankee) Now, you must choose your password and confirm it. This`ll be used to open your site account as well. You must NOT forget your password. We will explain how to get it back in a moment. Then, you must type down your e-mail address and then tell freewebs where you got the idea from. If you got the idea from this article, choose OTHER and type down EDSARENUMBERONE FREEWEBS HELPER. You must then agree to the terms of service and go on to the next step.

HINT: If you forgot your password, click the tiny link on the Home Page that says "Forgot Your Password?" and type your e-mail address in the bar and press submit.

Now you must fully agree to the terms of service, below these two buttons...

.....if you agree, press AGREE. If you don`t agree, press EXIT.

All righty, now you have to choose the type of site ya want. Since you are new, you should start out with EASY SITE BUILDER. Now, type in your full name [Example: John Smith] and then type in the title of your site. It will be in big letters at the top of your web page and should not exceed over 60 characters [Example: Edsarenumberone]. Now, the secondary title will be seen in smaller letters under the title and should be no more over 150 characters, [Example: You`ll get so Excited, You`ll fall Upside Down!], and we recommend it being like a motto type of thing or something. The site footer will be seen at the bottom of the page. In order to get the Copyright symbol, you should type in © and it`ll appear on the footer [Example: Edsarenumberone © 2006=Edsarenumberone © 2006] Now, choose a site category. This`ll be mainly what your website is [Example: If your site is for kids, we recommend "GAMES AND FUN"] Now, let`s go on to the next step.

HINT: There will be some interesting offers. If you wanna ignore them, click NO THANKS.

 Choose a template for your website. [Example: ^ABOVE^]

CONGRADULATIONS!! You`ve just set up your own freewebs site! However, there is much more coming up next!!

Now, It`s time to set up your pages. When you wanna set up your pages, go to your Site Manager page. One page is already created. That is the Home Page []. If you want to add more pages, click the  icon. A window will pop up, which is seen below...

You will type in the name of your page in the page name bar and choose which type of page you want. Normal Page [coming next] Form/Questionnare [coming after next] or a Photo Album [coming after Form]. Then Press done if you are not a premium user. Now, about changing your page settings. In order to edit the pages, click the  icon next to the page you want to edit. To rename one, click the  icon and to delete a page, click the  icon, then the page will be permanently deleted but you`ll still be able to visit it if you linked it to another page before you deleted that page. Now, to create a link on the nav bar, click the  button. Now, let`s talk about actually editing pages.

NORMAL PAGE

Well, to edit a page, click the  icon next to the page you want to edit. To make a new paragraph, click NEW PARAGRAPH. The paragraph page should look like it does below...

...however, making a paragraph probably isn`t as "a sinch" as you think it is. There are tons of settings that you need to keep repeating to make a decent paragraph. To make the words bold, highlight them and then press. To make the words Italic, highlight the words and press. To underline the words, highlight them and click . You could also change the colors too! Just highlight the word(s) you want to change and press  and a list will appear listing over 50 different colors! Choose one and It`ll change the color. However, there are more things than just words and colors, there are also different types of entertainment, games, and useful stuff. For instance, to add a game to your page, click the  icon. People could play games on your site all day! Also, there is a new setting for this chat kinda thing called a Shoutbox and to add one, click the  icon. People could post comments on this and people could reply to them too. It`s like people could have a conversation on the web for days. Also, besides entertainment, there are things that involve things going on. Things like a counter, which you could make by pressing  , could show you how many people visited your site. Well explain how to create one later. To add some images to your site, click the  image on your toolbar. A window will pop up with an empty list. Press UPLOAD FILE to upload an image. You have a limit of 100 files. Sure, if you run out of room for anymore pictures, just figure out the HTML code for the image and then press  . Type the HTML code in the box and press submit. The image will appear below. To insert media, click the  icon. A window will appear with an empty list. Just like before...you have to upload a file- yada yada yada- limit of 100 files- yada yada yada- find out code- yada yada yada- type code...press submit and the media will appear. How do you put a Google Search on your site?...

Just press the  icon! It`s a sinch! Well, if you want it to appear with something typed in the bar for an example, just type it in the bar! [Example: Appears with "Ed, Edd n' Eddy"]

The Example is not seen

To change the words in the button, double-press it and press the backspace for a long time. Now, type what you want it to say. It`s as simple as that! [Example: Appears with "Search for Stuff"]

However....obviously...you can not change the words on the  sign. Now, all of the other buttons are important too but we have to move on. Well discuss the rest later.

After you are done with your page, click done. If you want to add a background image, click ADD BACKGROUND IMAGE on the top. You could choose an image and make it your background image and you could also add background music by uploading a favorite music file and choosing it as your background music by clicking the link ADD BACKGROUND MUSIC and select the file you want. There are also some page effects including balloons everywhere, clocks following your cursor, and the ability to disable your right click. Click PAGE EFFECTS and select the effects you want. When you`re done, press PREVIEW, then press OK. After that, press the orange DONE button.

There are multiple things you could add on to your site such as blogs, guestbooks, counters, shoutboxes and ratings. First we will talk about blogs.

BLOGS

Blogs (formerly web journals) are online journals where you could put down latest updates to your site. People could also post comments to see what they think about it. To add a blog, go to Site Add-ons and click blogs. Press Create Your Blog. Your blog has been added. To edit your blog, go to Site Manager and next to your blog (you could name it whatever you want) click the Edit icon. Press POST ENTRY. When you are done with your entry, scroll down and check if you want comments in classic or forum style and check if you want pictures in comments or not. When you are done, press Done.

GUESTBOOKS

To add a guestbook, go to Site Add-ons and choose Guestbooks. Press Create Guestbook. Your guestbook has been created.

COUNTERS

Counters, such as this...

are to show you how many people have visited your site. To add one to your site, go to Site Add-Ons, and press counters. Click create new counter. Choose what you want to call your counter (it could only be of letters and/or numbers) choose what number you want it to start from and choose how many digits you want your counter to have. Choose the style of the counter and press Done. Then, go to Site Manager, and edit the page you want the counter to be on. Create a new paragraph and press the counter button (123). Choose your counter.

SHOUTBOXES

To create a new shoutbox, press the shoutbox button on the toolbar on your paragraph editor. Press Create New Shoutbox. Give the shoutbox a name, and then choose if you want everybody or just freewebs people to be able to post messages on it. If you want to choose a color, check Custom skin and choose a color. Then press Done.

RATINGS

To create a new Ratings & Comments, press the Ratings & Comments button at the end of the toolbar. Choose if you want it to be just ratings, just comments, or both. Name it. Choose if everyone can post messages on it or if just freewebs users can. Choose if you want e-mail notification or not, and choose how many comments you want on each page. Press done.
